melissarob Posted November 29, 2011 ID:499124 Share Posted November 29, 2011 Hey guys i use malwarebytes all the time and am a huge fan of it. I've used it to take viruses off of two of my computers already. I have one computer however that currently has a pretty nasty virus and i thought of using this great program to rid of it. So when i start my computer i run Rkill to stop any viruses and then after that i tried to install malwarebytes onto my computer. But half-way through the installation process i get an error message readingMBAM_ERROR_LOAD_RESOURCE (0,48)I really need to remove this error so i can successfully run malewarebytes to remove this nasty virus.Any advice is appreciated and thank you for your time. Staff screen317 Posted December 6, 2011 Staff ID:501941 Share Posted December 6, 2011 Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes. Please do the following:Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very importantAfter the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from hereNote: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro versionLaunch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.
