Hi,

My laptop is infected with malware that claims to be a system restore tool and has hidden lots of my files and programs. I've tried to remove it with MBAM which reports 0 infected files, however the database is 88 days out of date, and when I try to update it I get the following error - PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (2, 0, Connection refused). I've tried using Rkill, and although it does kill a couple of processes it doesn't solve the MBAM update issue. I've also tried using safe mode with networking, but the laptop hangs while trying to load the file crcdisk.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. DDS report is below as requested.

Welcome to the forum.

See if following this guide works.

Make sure you run rkill and then immediately run MBAM as desribed.

Most important....update MBAM before you run it.
