Hi:

Sorry you are having trouble registering MBAM.

Until an MBAM staffer comes along, could you please provide a wee bit more info:

1) Since this is a clean OS install, I assume you downloaded and installed the most recent version of MBAM from here?

2) When you tried to register, did you use the license ID and key originally sent to you from the reseller, Cleverbridge? (It would be contained in an email sent at the time of purchase.)

3) Did you have a chance to view the

?

4) You aren't trying to use the registration information that is already in use on another computer, by any chance? (Each consumer license is valid for a life-time, but it may only be used on 1 computer at a time.)

Please let us know, and we will go from there.

Thanks!

Thanks for your answer.

1 - Yes is a clean OS install. (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits)

2 - Yes.

3 - No i did not see it yet.

4 - I have 3 licenses for 3 PCs. I think i'm use the correct license but i'm not 100% sure because i can't see license ID in the MBAM installed in my other 2 PCs.

Thanks for the info.

Well, it certainly sounds as if you did everything correctly. :)

My hunch would be that you might be entering license info for one of the other 2 computers that's already in use?

I think we'll need to wait for an MBAM staffer to help us out on this -- you might need to verify with MBAM support which 2 of the 3 licenses are already in use. I think there is a way to retrieve that info from the Windows registry, but, again, we'd need an expert to help you with that.

I KNOW this is a clean install of MBAM, but you *might* try a clean reinstall?

If you want to give a go while waiting for the experts, here's how:

  • If you are using MBAM PRO, be sure to have your license ID and key handy first.
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here.
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so (very important!).
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license ID & key you were sent via email, if you are using the PRO version.
  • Launch MBAM and set the Protection and Registration (if using the PRO version).
  • Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray (if using the PRO version).
  • Now set up any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications. Then restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs here, or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Thanks for your patience,

Update:

This post explains where to find the ID and key info (at least on 32-bit XP). I think there is a similar registry entry on 64-bit systems with the same info.

You could use this to determine which 2 licenses are in use on your other 2 systems.

Then, you could cleanly reinstall MBAM on the computer in question and use the 3rd license to register it.

Note: It's important to run the mbam-clean tool & to reboot before reinstalling -- it will remove the registration info you may have already tried to enter, so that the new registration will proceed uneventfully.

Alternatively, you could contact Cleverbridge directly, but I don't know if they can determine which license is being used on which computer.

(Let us know if you need their contact info.)

I'm sure that an expert or MBAM pro will have some additional or better advice, :)

EDIT: In the "worst case scenario", you could activate the free trial of MBAM PRO, while you sort out the license issues, either here or with MBAM support.
