Hello

I am a paid user of MBAM pro ver 1.51.2.1300 and it will not update definitions itself automatically. Usually I get the warning database is 7 days old and need to update. This has never seemed to work for me at all. Had MBAM for a long time. I checked my windows firewall and MBAM service is allowed. What is wrong with it?

Hello ReMarkable: :welcome:

First, please do a MBAM clean re-install by doing the following:

  • Download and run the latest mbam-clean.exe.
  • Restart your computer, please allow it to do so - VERY IMPORTANT!
  • Disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
  • Reactivate the PRO version of the program using the license within the boxed version or was sent via email.
  • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the PRO version.
  • Setup any process/folder/file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please let us know how it goes, and which anti-virus application you are running.

Are you able to accomplish manual updates through the Updates tab and the "Check for Updates" button now? :)

Ok...did all that guess I have to wait and see if it does its definitions automatically or I get the warning that definitions are 7 days old and to click to update now. As for AV using free Avast and also running MS Defender.
