I know the KMS-R@1n virus is associated with illegal actions on Microsoft software, I can assure you that any Microsoft software on my computer is legitimate and legal. Now to my issue. I have been having a lot of problems in the past week with my laptop (after I uninstalled and re-installed my anti-virus). Since then I've been getting a lot of driver errors and other programs errors. I have run the tests listed on this Reddit thread. Malwarebytes did not discover any threats, ADW did not either, JRT discovered one and Hitman Prod discovered 11 which were all detected and 'cleaned'. I have located the file in my C:/Windows directory. I have tried to scan the file directly but Malware Byes does not recognize it as a threat. I also cannot delete it, once it is deleted it just comes back after a restart. I have tried killing it in services.msc and disabled the auto start up. Right now I'm creating a bootable USB drive with Avira Rescue System on it in hopes of getting rid of this thing. Hopefully, someone here can help me out as there's not much on the internet to go by regarding this trojan.
