  1. Microsoft has officially announced the latest Version 20H2 of Windows 10. The 20 represents the decade portion of 2020. The H2 signifies the 2nd release of the year ( or the Fall season update). This version is entirely optional as long as your Windows version is not out of its end-of-service date. Also note that organization & Enterprise & Education & iOT licenses have a different set of EOS dates from consumer ( Home or Pro ) licenses. 2. After a Windows update at some point before September, I had the issue that if it updated, my Microphone would stop functioning. However, if I didn't update, Apps wouldn't function. I much preferred having a microphone, as I use it quite often to play games and such. The issue is; I can't revert the windows update that *caused* the problem, as Windows 10 for some reason decided "You can't reverse updates before September now" on a whim, and I can't prevent updates either, so it just forced me to accept I now have a microphone that works just fine, but Windows just refuses to register any
  3. Running M3 v3.7.1 on 64x Win10 Pro. I installed Windows Update v1903 tonight and, now Windows Defender AV is disabled and Windows Defender AS is enabled. Also, Windows Defender is no longer listed in context menu of File Explorer. Before installing this WU 1903 update, Windows Defender was fully enabled along side of MBAM real-time protection and custom scanning with Windows Defender was an option in the File Explorer context menu. Yes, I have rebooted several times after Windows Update. The following is from a FRST log: AV: Windows Defender (Disabled - Up to date) {D68DDC

  7. Hiya, I was just going to leave it but after a few months it has gotten more annoying, everytime I play a game on my computer when I close the game my automatic updates for windows deactivates. [Opens with the pop up suggestion of turning automatic updates on which I always do] Its more of an annoyance than everything else. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  8. So for some reason yesterday (after 9 months of paid version scanning daily) I had two "trojan" hits. They are both the same time of file found in: c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\bunch_of_letters_and_numbers_folder The files are both the same size looking like: BIT61D1.tmp When you open in Notepad they look like normal temp files from MS windows updates being applied. I decided to upload one to "VirusTotal" and got a full clean (all green check marks) even from MalwareBytes. So I believe they are both Temp files created when I "uninstalled" KB3035583 (didn't want the GWX on m
  9. I have been unable to successfully complete a Windows Update on my 32-bit Vista machine since a MBAM v2.0.8.1057 Threat Scan detected and quarantined two registry entries for PUP.Optional.Spigot.A on 11-Aug-2015 (see attached MBAM scan log). I'm not sure if the Spigot detection and problems with Windows Update are simply a coincidence or if remants of Spigot might be preventing a connection to the Windows Update server. I do not see an error when Windows Update runs - it just reports that it is checking for updates and never finishes, even if I leave Windows Update runnning for over an hour.
  10. Malwarebytes quarrantined malware and since then Windows no longer updates, Microsoft Secutiy Essentials won't turn on or update. Itunes program will not connect to internet. I am guessing files were corrupted by virus, removed by Mbam and then deleted. is a recovery point a way to reinstall missing/corrupted files, a reinstallation? How do i recover? I am on the net typing this on the machine, so it must be a networking issue, not a hardware problem. Thanks for any help. this was the site that did the damage. I downloaded their virus instead of audacity: http://sourceforge.net/projects/auda
  11. After Lenovo Superfish fiasco, another big issue came to light this week with Samsung PCs. It has been discovered by Patrick Barker, a Microsoft MVP that some Samsung PCs have Windows Update automatically disabled by a tool automatically downloaded by a pre-loaded software called SW Update which acts as the standard updater for Samsung PCs. 14. I've essentially described my dilemma in the topic title. The internet is the most frustrating part and I suspect that might have something to do with an infection. Since I can't directly interact with anyone online, is there somehow a way I can fix the problem via my portable hard drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated
  15. I've essentially described the entire problem in the topic tag. The most frustrating part is not being able to access this forum directly on my P.C., due to the intermittent internet (I suspect this might also be caused by malware). Solutions required urgently. I would be very grateful of any help.
  16. Addition.txt FRST.txt Each time I open newspaper website www.theage.com.au I get a popup ]see attached png] requesting I select to "Windows Update You need install critical windows updates." The grammar is wrong, the popup isn't 'official windows' and the run command attaches a "#modal" command at the end of the webaddress - www.theage.com.au#modal As this is my first post - the attached FRST.txt file and Addition.txt files might give a clue. I'm stuck Cheers.

  19. Hello, I have windows 8.1 with AVAST & Malwarebytes 2.0 (Premium). Avast has been prompting alerts for SVCHost downloading "am_delta_e......exe" & "nis_delta_patch_.....exe" from au.v4.download.windowsupdate.com with no digital signatures (as shown in the enclosed attachments). Malwarebytes did not prompt any alerts or warnings! Are these files/downloads legitimate microsoft sources? Thank you!
  20. Hello everyone, I'm having stubborn corruption issues on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have tried hard to solve this for almost 2 weeks now, without success..I'm a bit surprised/offended to find myself being forced to resort to specialized forums like this one to fix my problem because I usually always find a way of my own. But this time I will need you guys. My problem is very similar to zac1 on this thread, whom receive great help from Rkinner: Windows 7 will not update - Geeks to Go Forums I'm fairly good at digging into Windows OS so I'll be able to follow your instruction very easily, wi
  21. Hi everyone: When I try to launch my Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, an error message pops up saying: "Run-time error '50003' Unexpected error". I have already cleanly reinstalled Malwarebytes Anti-Malware following the MBAM Clean Removal Process, but the message keeps popping up. I have also run the DDS scan (logs are attached). According to Firefox (trusted advisor), there is much more going on than just a problem with MBAM, probably a malware infection. This makes sense to me, since I have also been experiencing the following problems: - Windows Update does not work properly: although warn

  23. Hello, my computer has been running fine past few weeks, thanks to one of your expert helps solving my problem , until up to a few days ago where it recently began having problems. I went to Windows Update and i saw that something had disabled it into never running it. So as I should, I tried to put it back on and whenever it would search through updates, it said it could not install any and try again. This kept happening in a loop until today where I was finally able to install the updates, but I'm still worried why it was disabled and why it wasn't able to install them when I allowed it
  24. Similar problem to Nancydnv in another post. Perhaps Maurice you can help me as well? I have Windows Vista, 64-bit. I've been trying to perform 12 Windows updates for about two weeks now, but they consistenetly fail. Tried in a "clean boot" state, as well as with limited services running as a few websites suggested but with no luck. I started to notice many users who had a similar problem with Windows update were also using SM, so I uninstalled it completely. System restore will not go back further than 5 days, even though that box is checked. I tried doing the updates in 2 groups of 6
