  1. My computer is being dogged by a trojan - which Malwarebytes is blocking. Problem is, Malwarebytes is not removing the trojan but instead every few seconds when the trojan wants to spread, the malwarebytes protection shield also pops up. This means every few second this battle ensues. The trojan is using the windows power shell. I found I could pause the battle when going into task bar and ending the power shell task. When reporting a support ticket or otherwise to solve this issue, Malwarebytes wants me to download the security tool and run it to get a log. I have done this repeatedly and the log fails everytime. I cannot get a log and therefore cannot get help. When I send emails I don't think a human looks at it and it just tells me to download the tool that won't download. I'm at my wits end. Is it safe to uninstall the windows power shell or am I just delaying the problem. Why doesn't Malwarebytes GET RID OF IT? Thanks for listening. The trojan is an outbound (why?) trojan that changes ips.

  3. Could we ever expect to see a VPN service from MalwareBytes as an included or seperate service? Yes, there are hundreds of VPN services out there already but a lot of those are by companies that a lot of us may have never heard of. When someone wants to use a VPN, they're expecting to use it for their privacy and the companies that run a lot of VPNs, as I already said, pretty much aren't reputable. I'm sure their users wonder if the service provider is stealing or logging their information without their knowledge and possibly making a profit by selling that information. I'd think seeing a VPN service from Malwarebytes, one of the most recognizable names in computer protection, would yield great results from both sides. If the service was built into MBAM, we also wouldn't need an extra program taking up space on our HDs and would be pretty convenient for current users that do use VPN services. Just an idea, not sure if someone made a thread on this topic already but I checked 2 pages back and found nothing. Also did a broad search on the forums but only found threads where their VPN was having issues working correctly with MBAM running. Edit: I just noticed I may have posted this in the wrong place. I saw the "Malwarebytes Tools Comments and Suggestions" and "Malwarebytes Business Products Comments and Suggestions" forum pages after posting this.

  5. I had to jump over to Chrome in order to edit my post so that I could type this text. For some reason Microsoft Edge didn't recognize or load the entry field. Anyhow, I just heard about your product, JRT, and decided to try it out. Unfortunately as soon as I attempted to open it I got the error that you see below. I had also downloaded and was fully able to use AdwCleaner beforehand and really liked it. I am currently running Windows 10 Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.953) in case that helps you to pin anything down. Thank you so much for your time and assistance. Kevin

  17. Hi, Please can you advise if the above program is safe as I'd like to use it generally, having tested the trial. This program appears to be safe as MalwareBytes AntiMalware 2.2.0.1024 found no threats. However, Norton reported a warning as it says not many of Norton's users have used the program. I downloaded this tool from: http://www.maildev.com/download/and scanned it with MalwareBytes AntiMalware 2.2.0.1024, finding no threats. I ran it and allowed Norton to let the program run, when it warned me about the small number of users. I'm running it on Windows 10 32bit Pro which also warned of unknown publisher but I have seen this before with software I am more confident with. I tested the program with a low risk email (gmail) account (only a few mesages in there, mostly automated mails from social media, no contacts), it works very well - it has many options for batch/bulk backing up email including in non-proprietary format such as .eml with options for naming of the individual email files, and retaining the hierarchical structure. It all looks normal and not suspcious at all. However, with Norton reporting a low number of users and low numbers of followers on their social media, I find myself wanting my confidence with the tool to be higher as it looks really good for what I want. (I used to use a very similar tool from express-archiver.com which extracted from Outlook Express on Windows XP but this tool (and the OS of course) are now defunct.) The site looks very polished with payment options for the full version (which I intend to take up), and the head of the company had been on SuperUser for 3 years and has built a respectable reputation score, http://superuser.com/users/134397/jponceand their posts disclose that they are the developer of the tool when answering related questions. The company is based in Bolivia it would appear going from the about section on the site and the whois of the domain. So all looks fine and a really useful time saving tool, nothing quite like it. I am also aware of http://imapsync.lamiral.info/which may come close and appears to be open source, with paid-for support but this is more technically involved and does not appear to have the easier to use UI that maildev mailextract has. Can you advise: - if there is anything further I can do to improve my confidence as to the safety of this not so well known program - is you have experience of the tool yourself and have been able to perform tests and or analysis to determine safety By the way, I do not work for maildev or any other tools mentioned. I also have no financial interest. However, as it looks like an excellent tool, as well as my own confidence being improved, I'd love to see more positive confirmation if possible as to the tool's safety so as to help promote it. Thank you.

  22. Requesting Feedback Please create a new topic here if you would like to report anything regarding Junkware Removal Tool (JRT). JRT can be downloaded from here. We are requesting all types of feedback but more specifically we are wanting to find out how you make use of the tool. If you are a regular user, what are your reasons for continuing to use the tool? This type of feedback will help us provide you with an improved version of the tool in the future. Thanks for any feedback provided!
  23. I have some things to says about your tool and this seems the only way to reach you. 1) Please create a proper website with contact information. It looks undone and shady the way it is now. 2) When checking for malware, your tool stops the driver of my Wacom graphic tablet, but forgets to turn it on again after it's finished. I have to restart Windows to be able to move the mouse cursor again. 3) I installed the Software Informer update checker and you simply deinstalled it again without telling me what kind of malware it is.
  24. I did a search and didn't find a section on suggestions for the TechBench Tool, so I thought I would add one and add my suggestion. I can vouch that the tool works well, no questions about it. I think what would be nice is a different look, like the desktop version and probably the biggest one of my suggestions would be to add two buttons on the scanning screen. One for Select All and De-Select All. I had a user today with 799 items. Now I hope I didn't miss something on the page to select all and just didn't see it. Some correct me if I'm wrong, but it took forever to select each one of them one by one. It looks odd not having that option, so I hope I'm wrong. I think for the price of these, that it could still work the same, but also look nice. Just my thoughts.
  25. I have a Toshiba Satelite 64bit. I have gotten a virus that wont let me access ANYTHING. Whenever I turn my computer on, i can log into my account, then my home screen will come up. Then the screen will freeze and a white screen will come up. About a minute later, a screen comes up claiming to be the FBI and demanding a ransom. I used the Fadar Recovery Scan Tool x64, went through the "Repair My Computer" on the Advanced Boot screen to get to Command Prompt, typed in "f:\frst64.exe", and hit scan. Here is to log it gave me: Scan result of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) (x64) Version: 18-04-2013 Ran by SYSTEM at 19-04-2013 17:04:37 Running from F:\ Windows 7 Home Premium (X64) OS Language: English(US) The current controlset is ControlSet003 ==================== Registry (Whitelisted) =================== HKLM\...\Run: [synTPEnh] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe [1713448 2009-03-18] (Synaptics Incorporated) HKLM\...\Run: [00TCrdMain] %ProgramFiles%\TOSHIBA\FlashCards\TCrdMain.exe [900096 2009-03-23] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [HSON] %ProgramFiles%\TOSHIBA\TBS\HSON.exe [52600 2009-03-09] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [smartFaceVWatcher] %ProgramFiles%\Toshiba\SmartFaceV\SmartFaceVWatcher.exe [236544 2009-03-24] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [smoothView] %ProgramFiles%\Toshiba\SmoothView\SmoothView.exe [518008 2008-12-18] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [Teco] "%ProgramFiles%\TOSHIBA\TECO\Teco.exe" /r [1451520 2009-04-14] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [TosSENotify] C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA HDD SSD Alert\TosSENotify.exe [1123840 2009-03-24] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM\...\Run: [TPwrMain] %ProgramFiles%\TOSHIBA\Power Saver\TPwrMain.EXE [487264 2009-03-06] (TOSHIBA Corporation) HKLM-x32\...\Run: [TWebCamera] "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\TOSHIBA\TOSHIBA Web Camera Application\TWebCamera.exe" autorun [x] HKLM-x32\...\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe" [35760 2010-06-19] (Adobe Systems Incorporated) HKLM-x32\...\Run: [Adobe ARM] "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe" [976832 2010-06-09] (Adobe Systems Incorporated) HKLM-x32\...\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime [421888 2010-11-29] (Apple Inc.)
