  1. Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but just wanted to show some appreciation for the folks that have the free version of Malwarebytes out there for people to scan and use whenever they need to. Truly is awesome.
  2. Hi everyone, i just wanted to show my appreciation of a member of your team/forums. I love my gaming pc, (still getting upgrades as we speak ) I'm quite odd I freak out when things tend to return or persist, so I decided to try out these forums rather than leaving the issue while my computer is glaring at me to help it (haha). Anyway, Aura thank you for making things easy to understand, some others I've run into on other helpful sites can be sightly confusing so I wasn't expecting much here based on other experiences. However, I'm now confident that this site can help me if I ever run into any malware/issues. Thank you so much for your help, it made me calmer and resassured me that these simple issues can be solved with some good people. Thanks all - Gabbie.
  3. The Malwarebytes 3.0 update is a wonderful achievement because it offers the integrated protection of Anti Exploit, Anti Ransomware, all of which I have used with the MBytes 2.xx version. I also applaud Malwarebytes for it's VERY GENEROUS, upgrade policy for licensed users of the prior version, and the affordable pricing for unlicensed users in general. THANKS VERY MUCH - and now for some feedback. KEEPING PRIOR CONFIGURATIONS PROBLEM Even with the 3.06 update, the dashboard reported NO SCHEDULED SCANS, in spite of the fact that MBytes 2.0xx had them configured and running perfectly. The interface is frustratingly unclear, should the checkboxes be ticked to have the schedule enabled ???? Turns out the answer is no, but it is terribly easy to miss that there is no starting date or time after the update. Worse yet when you simply click to get the calendar pop up -you get 1901. You would think today's date would make more sense. Of course, it should work with a 1901 date, but I did not take the chance. I filled in the time using 24 hour format, and got the message about something being wrong. Time format looked just fine so, but unclear what the hell AP meant. In any case I put in non 24 hr format and specified PM -THAT WORKED. MAKING INTERFACE FAR WORSE THAN EVER with EXCLUSIONS The Malwarebytes Exclusions Interface has always been the most TIME WASTING, THOUGHTLESS of any security program I have used, but during the more recent updates of Malwarebytes 2.xx it was quietly improved. While Avast and some other programs make this SUPER EASY by providing checkbox next to every program for the folder you open (C:\PROGRAM FILES, or PROGRAM FILE (x86), so you simply put a check next to any and every program folder you wish to exclude, Malwarebytes reverted to an irrelevant folder everytime you wanted to add another folder. Huge waste of time when you had 15-20 excluded folders. Over time, they improved so that you got C:\Program Files when you returned, saving keystrokes and time. Still it was much more work than with the Avast style interface. If you have to do this for 5-15 computers the headache multiplies rapidly. Huge frustrating waste of time. Now for the REALLY BAD NEWS, with Malwarebyte 3.0 things have gotten really much worse. It now takes 4-5 mouse clicks to add an FOLDER TO EXCLUDE. It would be a million times less frustrating and time consuming to do it the way Avast and other smart programs allow you to do this. Use a checkbox interface so once you check off the folders, a single click finishes the ENTIRE JOB. This is not ROCKET SCIENCE, just good sense. Computer should and often can speed things up and make things easier. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION we have specified the Interface problem and have suggested the BEST SOLUTION. Make life easier for you customers. If you agree with my comments please add your voice to this Feedback. Thanks, Dan
  4. I just wanted to thank you guys for having such an awesome product. As soon as my virus protection expired from the Geeksquad at BestBuy, my computer was suddenly hit by virus after virus (fake pc defender, spoolsv.exe, new folder.exe virus, fake windows security, fake windows essentials virus, xp recovery virus, ). I didnt renew it because I know more about computers then the most the staff there who was supposed to be helping me, and they could never offer assistance. Someone suggested malwarebytes on an online forum and once downloaded it changed my life drastically, only I could not scan often enough to catch the virus that ate my boot .exe (boot virus). Once I reinstalled my system I decided that paying for this program was worth while. I'm not sure why anyone would create a virus ike that in the first place, but since downloading your software (pro), I have not had a virus....Due to the low low price and the effectivness of the program, I will recommend this program to EVERYONE I know, it is well worth the money . Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I came back to the site and made an account just to thank you for everything. I mean, I've worked on pc's (removing programs ect.) for years and it's all been easy going. The thing is, I downloaded some content and accidentally accepted some offers that were hidden and it piled on the malware - tried to remove the programs through the control panel and the popups still came - tried several other tools that worked in part but failed to remove simple extensions from chrome that the darn malware dug deep into the system. I am so profoundly happy with Malwarebytes that I just had to give a thanks! sooo thanks! Keep up the excellent work guys!
  6. I just got your program about 1 day ago and I have been in love with it, I like how its user-friendly and very simplistic. One problem though, do I have to manually allow chrome to do stuff like browse? Right now I have chrome and firefox in a exclusions which is bad apparently because it is vulnerable. (Are there any ways around this?) About a hour ago I ran Malwarebytes on my 2 slow bogged down computers, and man did I get amazing results! Desktop scan results came up with 400 Non-Malware files detected and zero Malicious files. Laptop scan results came up with 390 Non-Malware files detected and 15 Malicious files. I then proceed to quarantine and delete the files, then I do a restart. When they started up they felt as they were basically new and I was completely amazed at how fast they were. This saved me alot of headache I thought that the computers just had alot of files and needed to be cleaned out but man was I wrong. I would like to thank all of the dev's who made the software. So I just wanted to share my story and thats really all that I have to say!
  7. Hi, I have some kind of adware that just pops up everywhere. It's called "ExstraCoupon" and I've followed this guide step by step to try and remove it but it hasn't worked. I have run scans with Adwcleaner, Malwarebytes, and HitmanPro multiple times. I have removed every possibility of a threat according to these scans but I still can not get rid of this virus. I have no idea what to do now. I'd rather not follow another guide and install even more Anti malware scanning programs or whatever else there may be. Any help would be much appreciated!! 8. My computer was pretty bad with alware and my antivirus wasn't doing it. I was amazed that malwarebytes anti-malware rooted them up and solved the problem immediately! I just had to say thankyou some how! Hope you read this!
  9. BarbT

    Many thanks

I hope this is okay to post. I couldn't find another method to express my thanks to Malwarebytes for helping me time and time again. Not only have I been able to solve my own PC malware problems over the past five years, I have been able to help others. It is a pretty good feeling to come to the aid of friends and also especially older relatives. Thank you! Barb
  10. Thank you Malwarebytes for saving my computer! It removed over 50 items my Microsoft Security Essentials missed. Most of them were PUPs, but that doesn't stop me from thanking you. I even removed 2 pieces of spyware and a trojan that Microsoft Security Essentials missed! Thank you so much. Ever since my first scan with Malwarebytes, I have been using it every day without a problem.
  11. I wanted to start by saying that I bought Malwarebytes Pro almost a year ago now and it has been wonderful. Half the price of most virus protection and twice as powerful. That being said, I have noticed a slightly difficult to live with feature in the firewall. If I could make a request, it would be great if MB had a "Quiet Mode" for gaming. I have seen similar things in other virus protectors and it is very nice. Basically, MB won't interrupt you while you are getting your online grind on (not that it is all that vocal in the first place). The next request would definitely be easier bypass through the firewall by trusted programs. I realize this is a fine line, and easier access can go both ways, but I have had to add my games to the ignore list and several IPs that the games use to communicate as well, all while being booted off of online play each time I discover a new one in the process. Overall, great product and support! I would recommend Malwarebytes to anyone. Keep up the good work guys!
  12. No issues or problems, just wanted to say thanks to all the happy people who keep Malwarebytes running. I have used many antivirus/antimalware/etc. apps and suites in the past, and Malwarebytes is the only one I have stuck with through it all. The interface is amazing, the detection rate is great, and it has helped me rid my (and assorted friends' and family members') computer of all but the most persistant trojans. There was absolutely nothing lacking from the free version for me -- in fact, I tend to find for my own purposes that most paid security programs are just not enough better than all the free analogues out there to be worth the cost -- but I recently purchased a license for the pro version of Malwarebytes just to show my support. I could care less about most of the added features in the pro version as most of them are redundant for me, but these guys have earned a paycheck for everything they do (especially considering that most of their users are leechers of the free version...nothing wrong with this but $$$ makes the world go round). Okay, I am going to go wipe some of the brown off of my nose now, but just wanted to add my two-cents and say thanks for everything! -Joe
