Hate to waste your time on what is probably paranoia, but this icon is appearing in the popup menu on my taskbar, alongside the Malwarebytes, Java and Bluetooth icons as well as other recognizable images. When I mouse over it, it disappears, which is frustrating, so I was wondering if anybody could tell me what this is. Reverse image search has been no help whatsoever.

MB systray Updates: Out of date
enduser9999 posted a topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
W7 ultimate SP1. MB v3.0.6 reports on the taskbar notification area that the database is out of date, however when you open MB the dashboard states that "Awesome! You're protected" and shows that updates are current. Restarting the PC clears the taskbar notification notice sometimes, but it soon returns within the hour. I have uninstalled MB completely, ran CCleaner, rebooted, reinstalled MB but the issue continues intermittently. -
I accidentally infected my computer last week. I immediately updated Malwarebytes, unplugged my ethernet and completed a scan. Many items were removed as you will see in my initial scan. I restarted my computer and performed the scan again but a pattern appear no matter how many times I restarted my computer. PUP.Optional.Trotux is always found and reappears. My taskbar is largely non-responsive apart from my ability to close and open windows e.g. Windows 10 start button, volume control and the notifications button are all inactive. If I try and use them nothing happens and occasionally a Windows 10 system sound is made if I keep trying. This Windows 10 system sound is also made at random intervals whilst I use my computer. The 'Photos' app doesn't open, if I'm viewing a photo for instance. I'm required to use another program. Another user's account has appeared on the logon screen. This account is a local administator, cannot be deleted and has the same limited taskbar functionality that my user account does. I am still an administrator but appear to be more restricted in the overall hierarchy than the other local administrator. Despite clearing Chrome's settings, clearing all browser data, reinstalling the browser - it uses an automated system to login to my Facebook account. I have attached my logs from Farbar, along with my initial virus scan after getting the virus, and finally the standard virus scan I receive now that the problems above still occur despite PUP.Optional.Trotux reappearing. Any guidance would be very much appreciated JF - FRST.txt JF - Addition.txt LOG after first scan following virus.txt LOG of a typical scan now.txt

Hello, Please, is there a way MB Anti-ransomware would run silently, without displaying on the Windows 10 taskbar after computer boot? thanks IM

(Sorry about my bad English, I'm a Finn) Hi! This is my first post, and sadly it is about a negative topic... My OS is Windows 8.1. I was just about to do a search on Google when I noticed a small white head-like icon on the taskbar in the lower-right corner of the screen (or whatever the thing is called where you can see whether you are connected to the internet or not, and battery charge, etc.). When I took my mouse over it, it disappeared. Now I'm scared that I have some kind of spyware on my computer, copying all my confidential files to someone. Does such spyware/malware exist which creates a small head-like icon into the taskbar-thingy? I'm currently running a scan with the latest Malwarebytes Anti-malware and Comodo Internet Security Free Edition. I'm also worried whether it is safe to be connected to the internet or not...

I have downloaded countless virus and malware programs trying to solve my problem. Malwarebytes has helped massively it got rid of a werfault.exe and constant dllhost.exe error messages and removed so much infected files from my laptop but it hasn't fixed one problem and that's my taskbar keeps restarting. I have searched for hours trying to find a solution but no help. Also to add my system restore is affected and I get a error message when opening it. I am on windows 8 and I have no restore point or anything. sfc/scannow finds a error but can not fix it I also keep receiving a notification from C:\Windows\explorer.exe from Malwarebytes

I can't figure out why, but my MBAM logo suddenly disappeared completely out of the blue and has been replaced by the 'missing' icon. Why did this happen? It appears to only be an aesthetic problem because the program still seems to be responding, although it does seem to take time to bootup from a restart when looking at the logo from the system tray (it's gray for a few minutes before lighting back up again). Does anyone know how I might fix the missing logo? I'm beginning to wonder if my Windows Update has anything to do with it, it's always screwing things up.
