When my computer is idle, or doing something like watching youtube videos, my fans will start going and my computer will get hot. When I check task manager, it says that the CPU is running at 100%, sometimes there is no one task that is doing that but other times it is System Interrupts. The CPU usage then quickly return back to under 10% I've read that this is characteristic of mining malware, I've attempted other solutions involving windows updates, clean booting, eset cleaning, malwarebytes scans, and others. (I've quarantined or deleted everything that came up in the malwarebytes and adware scans but the issue still persists.)
Hello, I suspect that I have a bitcoin mining virus infecting my computer. Symptoms are as follows: 100% CPU until I open Task Manager, where it then disappears. Upon closing and reopening Task Manager, it does the same thing. High CPU usage is shown to come from System Interrupts. In Task Manager > Details, svchost.exe has 4 [four] entries under my username (I have read that typically they should only be under Network Service, Local Service, and System). In Task Manager > Details, I have 8 [eight] RuntimeBroker.exe (not sure if this is apart of the issue but felt it was worth noting). Attempts to rectify: 1. Did multiple full and offline scans with Windows Defender (Windows 10). No detection. 2. In Run > msconfig > Services, I disabled things with Unknown manufacturers. 3. In Task Manager > Startup, I disabled unnecessary applications from turning on. 4. Deleted apps I felt could have intruded (somehow I had Chromium on my laptop without downloading it). 5. Accessed CMD and did 3 [three] sfc /scannow. No integrity violations detected. 6. Backed up some important files and ran Windows Fresh Start (Windows Security > Device performance & health). 7. Performed another offline scan with Windows Defender for good measure. No detection. Still have the symptoms listed above. I am tempted to just reset the PC, but since I haven't succeeded thus far (0 to 7, virus winning) I am searching for some more professional assistance with solving the issue. I would greatly appreciate any kind of assistance with resolving this.
Hello i am having a problem with my cpu usage. System interrupts uses up 1 core of my cpu. I dont know what causes this. I ran malwarebytes and it didnt find any threats. I alro ran xperf and I saw HDAudBus.sys having high DPC/ISR duration on the 0 core. After seeing this i tried updating the drivers for 'High Definition Audio Controller' in the device manage but the problem still persists. Would anyone help me with my problem? Thanks!
