  1. Hello, I'm having the same problem as the OP. It's getting stuck on the scan and causing my PC to basically stop working while doing it.
  2. I've been trying to run some malware removal tools on this really old computer to salvage some decade old photos and stuff. Managed to run Malwarebytes latest version no problem, took 8 hours with rootkit scanning turned on.Found some malware, cleaned it up. After that, I tried running ADWCleaner and for the first time that I ran, it kinda worked. Found some malware, cleaned it up. Days go by, I found another HDD prone to be cleaned, and plugged it into the same computer, ran Malwarebytes again no problem, but now ADWCleaner get's stuck at around 30k files every time (Malwarebytes scan with rootkit scanned through 270k ish files). I unplugged the external HDD, I tried uninstalling both programs and starting from scratch, nothing. It never got past file 29575 or whatever. Currently 22hrs passed and has been on the same file for at least 20hrs.
  3. My Malwarebytes won't stop scanning after reaching the "Scanning File System" stage. It's gone as long as 70 hours once before I had to kill the program. Right now it's on the 2 hour mark. Malwarebytes Free 4.0.4 Windows 10 Home Build 1903
  4. Hello, I have noticed that when I'm using the scan, it always seem to be stuck at "Scanning file system" without ever reaching an end. This is supposed to be normal? I also realized that after closing malwarebytes (to background) and reopened the app it moves back towards the first stage "Checking for updates" and get stuck. Please do provide some assistance. Thank you!
  5. Hello! Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? Malwarebytes always keep on getting stuck scanning on a file when performing a custom scan every time. Threat scan work fine. This is the setting I always use.: Here is one of the scans which I let scan from night time until morning hoping that maybe it just takes time, but 14 hours of scan and not done is really insane.: Here is another scan I tried after doing a disk clean-up: Here is the scan after I decided to stop it because three hours have passed and the scan has not made any movement from WinStoreUI.dll.mui.: Using Windows 8.1. I did a restore on the laptop using the option "Remove everything and reinstall Windows". (Before I did this, the custom scan worked well from start to finish without having a pause for long time. Usually scanning for at least between 3 to 2 hours.) Running Norton 360 Multidevice. Thank you!
