Good afternoon, MB forum, users, admins. I'm certain you're all aware of a high RAM usage Malwarebytes hang/crash that occurred today. I wanted to provide a step-by-step reproduction of what happened on my PC in hopes MB devs (and forum users) can compare notes and use the information to investigate. 11:00am EST > Two programs open: Discord and Rocket League. No other programs running on a clean, new install of Windows 10. > Running Malwarebytes Premium in background. 11:01am -> 11:15am EST > Computer experiences massive RAM spike causing failsafe shutdown > Rebooted PC, checked on MBAM service. Service leaking memory at approximately 200Mb/s, increasing. > Killed service, used MBAM clean to remove MBAM and run a clean install as instructed HERE. 11:16am EST > Verified successful install of MBAM, service running cleanly (no memory leak) > MBAM tray icon indicates error; desktop app indicates both Web Protection and Rootkit Scanning have failed > Re-enabled rootkit scanning, no issues. > Re-enabled web protection, program hangs. 11:18am EST > Clean install of MBAM once more. Verified install, service running, both web protection and rootkit scanning now on. > Clicking on My Account now hangs the program. > This process repeats over and over consistently. > Ran mb_check, results attached below. 12:12pm EST > My Account still hangs program, however the remainder of the program functions normally, no memory leak. Interestingly, MBAM now says it is Out of Date. > Clicking Update Now has no effect, application ignores click event. This is where I currently stand on the issue. Hopefully what little uneducated information I've provided here will help the devs investigate. Thanks. Nate mb-check-results.zip
