I'll try to keep this to the point as there is a lot to tell you, let me preface that I have read many forum posts about this issue and the solutions that worked for them did not work for me. And I have done this with a second account between 2 other pc's and have exactly the same problem ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ I migrated my licence from 1 installation to another on a different machine, I logged into my mbam site account and deactivated the seat that was used before activating my licence on the new installation, it worked fine, except... when my pc starts up all protection modes show as ON for about 20 seconds or so then web protection and ransomware protection show OFF going to protection options and switching them on, leaves them in starting position (which many people face) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's what I have done: as suggested in the forums, i did the following: - enable 'delay RTP when MB starts' (15sec) - both restart services & reboot that did nothing - changed the mbam shortcut advanced setting 'start as administrator' to enabled - changed the service property 'log on as:' implicitly to the administrator account with password entered - restarted services & reboot - once rebooted closed mbam app, right-clicked on app and selected start as administrator now Malware protection is off as well as the other two leaving only Exploit protection on now - so before i reinstall, I thought I'd ask here first ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have compiled the mbam log as described in the forums and attached it here along with screenshots of what i see on startup and ~20seconds after. if anybody is able to assist me i would be tremendously grateful to you thank you for your time and patience i know this was wordy mb-check-results.zip

Hello, As many others on this forum, my web protection is not starting. I attempt to turn it on and it goes back to off. Please note - I have downloaded your mb-clean and removed all components from previous install and rebooted. I have reinstalled it more than once afterward and has not solved the problem. I have no other anti-virus programs running. Please advise. I just got the same. Ransomware protection stuck on starting. I solved it for now by restarting the Malwarebytes Service and restarting the MB application.

Ransomware Protection Won't Turn On
KristiB posted a topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
For reasons I won't go into, primarily that sometimes I am an idiot, I had to restore my desktop to factory settings last night. This morning, I reinstalled Malwarebytes Premium v 3.0.5. I got a message that some real time protection features were turned off. I was able to turn on everything but Ransomware Protection. When I tried to turn that on, it says Starting... by the button and just hangs. It's been like that for a good 15 minutes now. Help? My computer is a Dell XPS 8910 and I'm running Windows 10 Home. Thanks in advance for any help.- 6 replies

Web protection will not turn on in MBAM3 on multiple machines. Is there a way to troubleshoot or manually correct this?

After upgrade of MB from 2.2 to 3.0.5 the Realtime Protection Service will not start. It remains at "Starting" until the application is closed down. When re-opened, the service no longer says "Starting" but is now just off. All other services appear to be functioning. Also, scans take only a fraction of a second before they complete, reporting 0 items scanned. I have uninstalled both the old and new versions, rebooted several times, removed by hand any old Malwarebytes program folders and registry entries. Re-installed MB 3 and still have same issue. I am running Windows 7 x64 version 6.1.7601 I have Avast Free Antivirus version 12.3.2280(build 12.3.3154.23) installed. Exclusions for both products are in each others exclusion listings. My MB 3.05 on 64-bit W8.1 had the same issue after couple of days of installing MB. The web protection would not start, no matter what I've done. As a last result prior to removing MB, I've logged in as local admin and tried starting the web protection. Low and behold, the web protection activated just fine. I am not certain why the web protection stopped and why the standard (non-admin level) user account wasn't able to start it.

For me, malware realtime protection was off on a perfectly clean windows 10 installation. I enabled it and it was also stuck at starting. I waited a few minutes and restarted my PC. Every since then, it is set as "on" and everything seems to be working fine. Looks more like a visual glitch where the button does not move from "starting" to "on"

Hello, I have Anti-Exploit Premium installed on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP-1 Up-to-date. mbae.exe is in the Startup and appears in Task Manager as mbae.exe*32, but there is no icon in the system tray (hidden or unhidden). To get the reassurance that it's running, I have to stop mbae.exe*32 in Task Manager and start mbae.exe from my file manager, after which it runs for the duration in the system tray. Is there a workaround for this ? It's a 64-bit machine but this programme appears to be running a 32-bit version despite there being a 64-bit executable in the application folder. Regards Cheemag
