  1. I've used an old version of Spybot for years as a low level additional protection as it has a very small profile/low resource use and doesn't interfere with anything very much. I've run scans with AdwCleaner in the past and its has never had a problem but at some point, I think fairly recently, it has been reporting the following on my PC:- PUP.Optional.Legacy HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\dospop.com PUP.Optional.Legacy HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\incredibar.com PUP.Optional.Legacy HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\dospop.com PUP.Optional.Legacy HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\incredibar.com PUP.Optional.Legacy HKU\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\dospop.com PUP.Optional.Legacy HKU\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\zonemap\domains\incredibar.com First time it happened, like a good boy, I allowed AdwCleaner to clean and restart. All gone, all good............but a couple of weeks later I ran the scan again and they're all back. This kept on happening and then I eventually noticed something - every time after I'd used AdwCleaner and then later updated Spybot definitions and applied what it calls browser immunisation it showed 6 items as unprotected. It took some time to click even then but when it did and I did a bit of research I found "Zonemap" is used by browsers IE in particular as the designated registry location for restricted and trusted web sites. Spybot adds its own definitions to this list and those six items AdwCleaner is deleting as PUPs are apparently from Zonemap's list of restricted domains. Identifying what is trusted and what is restricted from the Zonemap lists is not clear (anyone here know?) but the registry entries for the IE trusted sites are slightly different from the bulk of the others I've looked at. I am pretty sure those six are restricted domains. It would appear AdwCleaner is actually removing protection from my system by deleting these entries. Obviously I can add them to an exclusion list from now on but I thought it worth mentioning this matter here now I've discovered what they are and why they keep reappearing. The restricted domains shown in Zonemap are very numerous, there are hundreds of them covering everything dodgy from gambling web sites to HC porn so the question that also has to asked is why are only those six considered PUPs?
  2. Please white-list the immunizations from SpyBot Search & Destroy. AdwCleaner[S0].txt AdwCleaner[C0].txt
  3. Saturday I ran into a virus I can’t seem to get rid of. I noticed it directly as I got a popup about windows user account control had been disabled. I immediately cancelled everything, activated UAC again and did the following steps: - Uninstalled all new programs via control panel (almost 10) - Removed yessearches as the new homepage for browsers - Checked for addons in browsers = none - Updated and ran a scan on Spybot - Updated and ran a scan on Avast But the problem remained. Almost every program I start get this huge installer screen saying “Update to the latest version of….” (Outlook, VLC etc). As this pops up, Avast displays that it has blocked a threat origin from the temp folder (under c:\ or c:\windows). (Which it obviously hasn’t, as the installer still starts.) I have downloaded Microsoft security scan, and when running a full scan it reports that it has only partially removed win32 Mizenote. I get no instructions on how to fully remove it. I have tried to empty the temp folders that Avast says the virus origins from, but files are protected. I have also found a very suspicious chromebrowser.exe in my windows file with the same creation date as when the problem started, that neither can be removed, not even via cmd. I have googled my eyes blue. HELP! What is this? And more importantly, how can I remove it as Spybot, Avast and Microsoft security runs short?
  4. I currently have Spybot Search & Destroy and SlimCleaner both running on my computer in addition to Kaspersky Pure and Malwarebytes Premium. Do I need the first two?

  7. Hello, Yesterday I was unable to go onto my google chrome, so I did some scan with my Spy-bot, it removed some spyware.Google Chrome still did not work so I used Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes did not detect anything. Than I did a system restore, my google chrome worked fine but than an Windows Security Alert popped up. I did not click on it. I checked it again with my Spy-bot it removed some spyware and than I used Malwarebytes to check it again, malwarebyte does not detect anything. This morning when I woke up I see that the pop up sign is not their anymore. I just want to know if Windows Security Alert is gone or is it hiding? I am currently running AVAST. Protection that I have right now 1) Malwarebytes 2) Avast 3) Spybot 4) CCleaner 5) McAfee Security Center ( But I do not use it) Are they compatible with each other? If not please list some recommendation, Thank you for your help and have a nice day
