Hey Would it be impossible for a brand new 'bone' stock Android phone to be infected with malicious software from Scareware or Prize pop-ups? I have seen about five of them since getting the phone and setting it up - most were spoofing Google, saying my device was infected. The most recent was spoofing Amazon saying I won $1,000. I had been using Chrome only while accessing the internet on my home wifi network while signed into my Google account, and shutting down the phone after the Google spoofs occurred. My email account had several Mailer-Daemon returns which I found peculiar. I also had an email sent from myself which I did not send. After concluding that I was probably spoofed I checked the email that was sent to myself and the body had just a link--one that was sent to me by a friend and which I clicked on. (It was a fake article about making money from home.) I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and Avast! and nothing came up. Is it possible that this spoofing malware is a one time thing? Anything else I can do? Thanks, VFN
