  1. Why are Hyper Scan and Customs Scan options hidden from view? I had to find out by reading some of the version four manual. Doesn't Malwarebytes want the casual user to perform these types of scan? In case others are having difficulty finding these hidden options, click on the cross-hairs and in the pop-up click "Advanced scanners". Hope this saves other some time.
  2. Since I paid the license of Malwarebytes, my PC became heavy. While free/trial, it was not, not at all. There is too much hard disk activity durig Windows boot up and still a while later. It slurp my battery. My notebook is a HP Pavilion x360, Intel Core-M 2.0GHz, 4 GB ram, 1 TB HD. Before the license, Windows loading process was not that fast but now is that slow. Sometimes, Malwarebytes stays doing scans without I ask. I'd like an option to override obligatory scans.
  3. New user here. I was told by my company that I had Malware on my computer. So the IT folks installed Malware Bytes. Thought that would fix things, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect. It does a scan every day and it doesn't find anything. I've even done a full scan, and nothing comes up. But every day, sometimes more than once, it finds and stops an exploit. It says it's a .dll file error, a file that I can't delete. So I ran a SFC scan (system file checker) that is supposed to allow Microsoft the opportunity to fix any corrupt file. But that scan said nothing was wrong. How can there be nothing wrong, yet the exploit still runs daily? Running Windows 10, Intel Core i57300U, 64-bit OS. Any clues or help would be appreciated.
  4. We have a computer with scheduled update and scans (screen capture attached). The schedule is for one update and one scan daily. 5. Alright so recently I' came across some news about a 'legitimate' service for e-sport gamers which have been accused of implementing malware into their Anti-cheat client, so a part of their own client they manifested the malware as support tool for their service. Some of you may heard of this already, either way at this point i wish to know if there is any analyzers at all that take requests of applications that has been verified or are not yet tagged/flagged as unsafe. Malwarebytes forum has a subforum for people who know they are infected but i can't find any subforum for people who wish to get check-ups for their system or just files they want to be analyzed. The esport service i described above is https://gamersclub.com.br/ Also another one that i wish to know more about is: https://www.nptunnel.com/ Nptunnel or also known as "NoPing" is a routing service for gamers. The reason why i wonder about nptunnel is because no one has analyzed it and verified it. The problem is that both of these companies are under Brazilian law which do not abide by EU laws or EU rulings nor American laws which lack the safety of internet laws in many aspects which make intrusions such as implementing malware into their users computers not illegal. As both of these companies has been accused of implementing malicious/intrusive code into their clients and haven't seen any public in-depth evidence nor news service reporting about it i wish to know if there is any place or people that could maybe look into it and report back? As Malwarebytes is on the front lines of defending people and their systems i find it to be related to this board. Any feedback about this will be appreciated! Thanks in advance add: If you wish me to censor the brands, please tell me to do so or moderators could do it. =)
  6. I am pretty positive I have a rootkit. It's a quiet and crafty sort; from the beginning there were no obvious signs of infection, there wasn't any slowing or memory leaking, no unusual traffic noted. I felt like something was off, but I couldn't pinpoint what until I got the first warning message from MBAM 3.0.6 Premium (see Exploit Blocking below). Now I notice that all my desktop icons are rearranged on relog and suddenly there is a bit of dead space at the bottom where I can no longer move any icons, though that's kind of the least of my worries. Sometimes the screen sort of freezes, almost like a screenshot, but then it clears up again right away. I'm running Windows 10 Home Premium, x64, on an Asus X756UXM. Please see all the notes below and txt files. Please note that things might be a little out of order from how I actually scanned things, because this started almost a week ago and I don't remember that far back. I believe the initial infection came from a popup/pop under (can't recall which, sorry!) at http:// www (dot) nowvideo (dot) sx/video/11bb079eff255 while using Chrome. I run AdBlock Plus, Ghostery, and some script blocker thingie, and have all my many browsers configured to block popups, and I never have any issues on any other sites, but this one managed to get around all that. I threw everything I could think of at this but I really just feel like I'm chasing it from one corner to another. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. 7. I have many computers running Malwarebytes Pro. Under version 1.x everything worked well, including the scheduling. I've upgraded most of them to 2.x, but have halted that upgrade process because of the problems encountered with scans and updates no longer operating correctly. First let me explain the updates problem. I have an automated schedule setup for updating. The computers are left on 24/7 and set to never sleep or hibernate, but users are only logged on when in use. Some of the computers are only used once a week or less, but are powered on at the logon screen all the time. When I logon to one of these systems the DB is many days behind, and correlates with the last time someone was logged on. After logging on, the DB will eventually update without any user interaction (15 - 30 minutes later). With version 1.x, these updates would happen in the background regardless of whether a user was logged on or not. It is critical that updates occur regardless of whether a user is logged on. Second, the same thing appears to be true with the scheduled scans. The scans only seem to run, if a user is logged on at the scheduled time despite the fact that the system is powered on and running at the scheduled time. Again, under version 1.x, these scheduled scans occurred without an issue without the user logged on. The scans are scheduled to happen in the very early hours of the morning when no user would typically be logged on. Again, it is critical that these scans occur when no user is logged on. All of the systems with version 2.x behave in this manner, so the problem is very consistent. I have looked through the forums, and found a recommendation to do the "clean" removal and reinstall the most current version. I have done that on one of the systems to see if this action rectifies the situation. I will let the system set overnight to see whether tonight's scan will run. If someone has other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

  9. Hello. I'm new to this forum, so forgive me if I neglect anything. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS operating system. Having been a Malwarebytes user for literally years, I installed the Wine program to install Windows programs on Linux systems. I installed Malwarebytes, and I can do a custom scan, but I can't do a threat scan or a hyper scan. Also, when I first open up the app, I get a popup stating that the anti rootkit program is not installed. It prompts me to restart and attempt to install the program, but it fails every time. I installed the program through the tools menu, but it still won't work. Attached, see my screen shot. Also, for some reason I can't maximize the window. I hope you can help. Thank you, Fred Broder
  10. Hi, I have three undeletable files in my recycle bin: 1) Di256 (file): S-1-5-21-1220945662-1957994488-682003330-1004 2) SP3QFE(file): 0eeea829341cb5b55814320b99089c 3) Update(file): 0eeea829341cb5b55814320b99089c I performed a scan twice and it did not detect any malware or virus, could you tell me if they are viruses or some sort of Malware? if so how can I delete them. Thank You.
  11. I have a very general question about the new Premium Version of Malwarebytes. The former version had choices such as Quick Scan, Full Scan, Custom Scan but the new version seems to have only the option to click on "Scan." Is this scan a Full Scan? if so, it is very much faster. Am I correct that this is the only option on the new version or am I missing something. I apologize for asking such a general question but I simply do not know. Thank you
  12. We have the free version of Malwarebytes and now for some reason when i do a full computer scan, it scans the computer but it never seems to come to a end? For instance...this one time its been running for over 5 hrs so far...no new viruses detected or anything but it is still running. Normally a full scan on that computer only takes about 2 hrs to finish. Any help? And is there anyway to pause the scan if it wont stop and delete the problem files its already found? Thanks:)
  13. I just deleted and reinstalled Malwarebytes. After about 6 minutes, it does one of the following: 1. Most of the time, it freezes and i have to restart. 2. Sometimes, it would show a window that says "logon failure" 3. At one time, it just restarted the computer automatically. Recently, it froze at this point of the scan: c:\PROGRAMDATA\ntuser.dat.LOG1
