  1. I get these daily scans and I noticed sometimes my PC's performance would sometimes drop and that is due to the daily scheduled scan. I want to turn off that Automatic Scan. I only want Malwarebytes to catch malwares and viruses only when I load suspicious websites, downloads, or execute suspicious files or programs. I do not want to run it 24/7. How do I do that in version 4.3 as of April 24, 2021? I've seen other articles with this solutions but that was on the much older UI (user interface). How do I do that with this new UI? Every time I try turning off "If missed, scan at next opportunity", the toggle button turns itself back on whenever I return to these Schedule Scan options. Topic Posted: 04/24/2021 Version at the time of writing: Malwarebytes Premium 4.3.0.98 Last updated: 4/24/21 11:34 AM Update package version: 1.0.39779 Component package version: 1.0.1251
  2. MWB Premium - under Security settings, what is the effect of: "Use expert system algorithms to identify malicious files." ? Does the product have these algorithms in-built, or does it have to go online to an external server to check suspicious items? I see it is set off as default, but what percentage (on average) does it add to the system scan time? I have not yet tried it, but I would hope that the "normal" scan algorithgm would pick up most malicious files? I would be grateful for any information or experience users have had, using this setting, and any effects on system running, CPU % etc, or hangs, BSOD etc.
  3. A friend recommended me a RAR file to download through MediaFire for an application that he himself had downloaded and reported no issues with. Since downloading this file and extracting the program through Bandizip, there's been two instances that have scared the hell out of me. Out of seemingly nowhere when running chrome, my screen started to flicker, tabs started moving by themselves slightly off-screen, my mouse appeared to flicker back and forth, but i still had some control, and a new tab opened on chrome and characters started typing themselves into the top search bar by themselves. On the second instance, the same thing happened, except the downloads tab file location opened itself up when i had never clicked on it before. On both of these instances, I turned off the laptop via holding down the power button for like 10 seconds to hard reset it. I'm worried that somehow my computer is being controlled with malicious intent, but after running scans on the file in question and my entire hard drive using both the Windows Defender and Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware corporate scanning, nothing pops up at all, and I'm worried that the issues will continue to persist. Please help if possible! Here's the text log of the quick scan for the corporate scan, the full scan with windows defender scanned all my files and returned similar results: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Corporate) 1.80.2.1012 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: main: v2020.06.27.08 rootkit: v0000.00.00.00 Windows 10 x64 NTFS Internet Explorer 11.900.18362.0 micro :: LAPTOP-F0CHSQSO [administrator] 6/28/2020 12:37:56 AM mbam-log-2020-06-28 (00-37-56).txt Scan type: Quick scan Scan options enabled: Memory | Startup | Registry | File System | Heuristics/Extra | Heuristics/Shuriken | PUP | PUM Scan options disabled: Objects scanned: 193274 Time elapsed: 6 minute(s), 31 second(s) Memory Processes Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folders Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Files Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) (end) Here's the log of the .rar file scanned in question: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Corporate) 1.80.2.1012 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: main: v2020.06.27.08 rootkit: v0000.00.00.00 Windows 10 x64 NTFS Internet Explorer 11.900.18362.0 micro :: LAPTOP-F0CHSQSO [administrator] 6/28/2020 1:01:28 AM mbam-log-2020-06-28 (01-01-28).txt Scan type: Custom scan (C:\Users\micro\Downloads\Adobe Photoshop 2020 21.0.1.47 (x64) RePack by SanLex [Multi.Ru].rar|) Scan options enabled: File System | Heuristics/Shuriken | PUP | PUM Scan options disabled: Memory | Startup | Registry | Heuristics/Extra Objects scanned: 1 Time elapsed: 6 second(s) Memory Processes Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folders Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Files Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) (end)
  4. I purchased a bundled account for two devices Trying to activate on my OPPO RENO2 mobile, after entering the correct License number, I keep on getting the error message "format incorrect". Am sure the way I entered is correct. Thing is, the window is NOT LARGE enough to accomodate the entire licensing digits (4X5 digits). Who can help ?
  5. Usually when preforming a scan (I always do custom but I assume for any scan) you were able to see the current directory of the file being scanned. In the newest update how ever it seems this function is gone. I also see no optional option for it. I ask you to please please reconsider removing this feature from Malwarebytes it provides valuable information in the progress of the scan. It would be a shame to see it gone for good. This is valuable to me because even though the directory was only showing up for a few milliseconds you still got to see witch drive, main and sub folders the scan was currently going through. And when the scan then stops for a few actual full seconds you got to see witch files / sections were taking longer. I think having it at least as a optional function in the settings (turned off by default I guess) would be very nice. And since it exited in your previous version of the program I hope it won't cause you too much trouble. Thank you for your time.
  6. I often download a lot of .rar files and I scan them and the scan ends quick which makes me think its not scanning inside? Can it do this or do I have to extract first?
  7. I have just purchased Malewarebytes 3.0 for MAC and installed it on top of the free Malewarebytes for 3.0 for MAC. I cannot see any scan scheduling options or selections. Please help. Thank you, mgradel
  8. Heya, Not a huge thing, but I have seen this a lot now while the program is scanning. Is this an easy fix tho? Regards,
  9. Hi All, Just within the last couple of days( today Feb13 2017) I have had MB3 .0.6.1469 running Heuristic Analysis nearly non-stop sometime over 5 hours. I have a screen shot of one here running almost 4 hours I will be attaching.
  10. Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I have 2 questions. One regarding website blocking and another regarding malwarebytes scanning. I visited a website, which I thought seemed harmless, but malwarebytes premium came up and said that it blocked it. The website was . I apologize for posting the link here, I'm not sure how to disguise it. I was looking for information about sol files and it was the first google result. Anyways, after malwarebytes blocked it I got a little nervous about what happened, as one probably would, and so decided to run a scan. But malwarebytes was unable to run a complete scan. It continually cancelled it after 1 second. After I restarted my computer however it was able to scan just fine, and it found nothing. Neither did hitmanpro or windows defender (I know windows defender is pretty basic). So my question 1: Once a website is blocked during real-time protection, can a website manage to sneak in drive-by downloads or anything of the sorts? Or does malwarebytes manage to stop the website completely from loading anything? Question 2: What happened that my scanning refused to work until I restarted? In the log it says that it was canceled, but it did it on its own.
  11. I took the advice and uninstalled Avast in favor of MB 3.0. So far I generally like the result but I wonder about how MB is actually doing real time protection for email. I ask because Avast used to alert pretty much every day about some spam email message being infected with something and having quarantined it or something. These always were actual spam messages that would end up in the spam folder anyway, and then would have been deleted by me. Now that MB has been running alone for the past many days, those type of messages still go to the spam folder, but there is no MB warning when there is an infection contained. It may be that I have not received any infected emails in the past week but that seems unlikely as Avast used to catch one or two almost every day. Is MB scanning each email message for threats as the email downloads like Avast did? And if it is, should I expect to get a popup notifying me when an email is infected? I liked the scanning and interception method that Avast uses although overall I like MB much better.
  12. I am having a similar issue. Malwarebytes runs for 18+ hours and then freezes. I'm in safe mode. Help!
  13. Hello, Just a small suggestion; perhaps it has been suggested before but searching for it yielded no results. I'd really like to see the addition of being able to see detections while a scan is in progress. As it currently stands, I have to wait until the scan has finished, or cancel it early in order to see what has been detected.
  14. How to ignore scanning of folder redirected by NTFS junction ? I have in My Vista64 Home Premium SP2 folder c:\users\User\Downloads redirected by NTFS junction to E:\Downloads. During scanning of disk C MBAM scans c:\users\User\Downloads what I do not want. When I try to add c:\users\User\Downloads to exclude list, it adds instead of a junction the real target folder E:\Downloads. Until now all is good. But if I trigger next scan, it is scanning all the c:\users\User\Downloads again. I guess something is wrong in way how MBAM treats NTFS reparse points.
  15. Help Please ! This has been going on for weeks . I always make sure to leave my laptop on scanning while I go to sleep just to feel safe and to see if I have any viruses or if I got infected. I Always have to wake up to MBAM PRO Still scanning Sometimes I just let it scan even after I wake up but it gets to 18+ hours and only has scanned 180thousand files (That's the farthest I got) This is ridiculous. I need to fully check my computer with it not taking 2 days or even a week to fully scan it . I yet have not been able to scan my whole computer . I am running on Win.7 , 2009 Toshiba , Intel® Celeron® CPU 900@ 2.20GHz 2.19GHZ , 2.00 GB RAM and a 32-bit .. This isn't good but not the worst specs either . I have a older PC with same GB and don't know what else but have A LOT more file than my laptop and the scan on that takes 1hour 30mins Max .. It does have a PRO MBAM Licence and so does this laptop and I can't even finish the scan . My computer keeps getting worse its gotten Soo much slower it freezes on me It takes 15-20mins just to boot up . It crazy I'm pretty sure I am infected and their is nothing I can do about it because I am not able to scan my computer daily . I have MBAM PRO I don't understand why this is happening its supposed to be better and faster and it is on my other computer witch again like I said its older and has more files but on this one I can't even have a successful and complete full pc scan. I really need help with this . It is now serious I am infected and can't do nothing about it I need someone to help me as soon as possible because I don't think my PC would be able to take it any longer ... If anyone would like to help me through MSN Leave your email in your post or just PM me . Or if anyone wants to just post ways I can get this fixed on the thread that will be great . I just need any type of help * I will stay on this forum so I am active* Thanks in advance , I really appreciate it !
