  1. Hi all, First time with this type of trouble and I've come across this forum via a Google search which I had started reading through this thread here: I will try to do my best here in understanding and communicating with the everyone and your knowledge. Thank you in advance for any help. I'll try and keep this simple and broken down into what I know. To start I am running Windows 10 on a Cyberpower PC that I purchased about 3 months ago. As briefly as I can be I use this PC strictly for iRacing and use only a limited number of applications that run along with it. I use Chrome as a web browser which is pretty much just familiarity and a preference. This whole adventure started when the command prompt opened on me in the middle of a race. I noticed in the task bar following this race that Internet Explorer and Chromium were there. Not thinking too much of it as this was the first time it happened I unpinned them and continued what I was doing. This happened again several hours later and I got to investigating this Chromium deal. I am now familiar with what it is and how it works and I also learned more about Electron and how it operates some of the apps I use such as Discord and Simracingapps. More familiar with how this all comes together I continued with trying to get these apps removed. Im almost positive I had uninstalled Chromium via the command prompt and a hidden folder in This PC>Windows(C:)>Users. I also took a second look at SAntivirus which is my fault for not noticing sooner and I found out all about that.. I followed instructions to remove SAntivirus by rebooting in "Safe Mode with Networking". The following step is to download and install Malwarebytes. As there seems to be no way to connect via WI-FI in this mode (which is currently all I am able to use) I downloaded on my Surface and tried to install but it still needs to download during this time so I could not do so. I went on to the next steps as they were 2 more removal softwares so I figured leaving one out would be just fine. These were HitmanPro and then Adwdefender. Following the instructions to reboot after the Adwdefender scan all I booted to was a black screen. I restarted using the power button on the tower out of frustration at this point with this already being a 4 hour headache. When I powered back on I navigated back to where I was given the options that included "Safe Mode with Networking" and others. Since I was familiar with that one during this process I chose it. Boot to black screen. Reset again and believe I chose the startup troubleshooting after finding it and chose some type of boot recovery. This is where i was starting to see red so I cant remember exactly and I dont want to really do much else on here using that route unless instructed to do so. But that sounds about right. This went through and finished and the pc booted and I am at my desktop and logged in. Now whatever it did to recover gave me a sigh of relief but now I have the apps that I originally started this process to try and remove(Chromium and SAntivirus)back again along with 2 or 3 others that I have decided not to use and had previously uninstalled. All I want is Chromium off of my computer for good. I'm sick of saying the word. I'm sick of looking at it. SAntivirus Realtime Protection Lite off my computer for good. I'm already planning on being more vigilant for these things as the SA snuck in thetr on me. Also using all three of these softwares in the future to help me do thst... if Malwarebytes doesn't hang up on installing that would be great too. Seems I'm at a point here where I can try this all again with some of your help. Thank you for your time, Ryan
  2. Enabling the Malwarebytes Safe Browsing Scanner (Setting>General>Accessibility) will prevent Mini View (Settings>Display>More) from working entirely on my LG G6 (LG-H872). I would like to have this extra layer of security running, but Mini View is a MUST for me and my tiny hands. I have heard that people are having similar issues on the LG V20. Any fix available or in the works? Thank You, Joshua Logsdon
  3. I did a full scan and got to much threats (12,190) is it safe to quarantine and delete them? Will it cause any problems to my pc or to some apps on it? result text attached. Please help me. Malwarebytes thrests scan results.txt
  4. Is it really safe for using to root mobiles? I´m experiencing a warning from my antivirus, which warns me about malwares that could be easily installed in my smartphone if I use it. Even my PC´s notifications say that, as you can see in the attached image. Please help me!! Can anyone clarify it for me?! Help!!
  5. Hi, Please can you advise if the above program is safe as I'd like to use it generally, having tested the trial. This program appears to be safe as MalwareBytes AntiMalware found no threats. However, Norton reported a warning as it says not many of Norton's users have used the program. I downloaded this tool from: http://www.maildev.com/download/and scanned it with MalwareBytes AntiMalware, finding no threats. I ran it and allowed Norton to let the program run, when it warned me about the small number of users. I'm running it on Windows 10 32bit Pro which also warned of unknown publisher but I have seen this before with software I am more confident with. I tested the program with a low risk email (gmail) account (only a few mesages in there, mostly automated mails from social media, no contacts), it works very well - it has many options for batch/bulk backing up email including in non-proprietary format such as .eml with options for naming of the individual email files, and retaining the hierarchical structure. It all looks normal and not suspcious at all. However, with Norton reporting a low number of users and low numbers of followers on their social media, I find myself wanting my confidence with the tool to be higher as it looks really good for what I want. (I used to use a very similar tool from express-archiver.com which extracted from Outlook Express on Windows XP but this tool (and the OS of course) are now defunct.) The site looks very polished with payment options for the full version (which I intend to take up), and the head of the company had been on SuperUser for 3 years and has built a respectable reputation score, http://superuser.com/users/134397/jponceand their posts disclose that they are the developer of the tool when answering related questions. The company is based in Bolivia it would appear going from the about section on the site and the whois of the domain. So all looks fine and a really useful time saving tool, nothing quite like it. I am also aware of http://imapsync.lamiral.info/which may come close and appears to be open source, with paid-for support but this is more technically involved and does not appear to have the easier to use UI that maildev mailextract has. Can you advise: - if there is anything further I can do to improve my confidence as to the safety of this not so well known program - is you have experience of the tool yourself and have been able to perform tests and or analysis to determine safety By the way, I do not work for maildev or any other tools mentioned. I also have no financial interest. However, as it looks like an excellent tool, as well as my own confidence being improved, I'd love to see more positive confirmation if possible as to the tool's safety so as to help promote it. Thank you.
  6. Hey, I have some nasty malware that is preventing me from running applications that require the administrator to verify the disclaimer by pressing "Yes". When I try to run a program, my screen is dimmed and I get the disclaimer popup for a brief moment, and then the popup closes and I get the following error message: "The extended attributes are inconsistent." Unfortunately this prevents me from being able to run Malwarebytes. I tried to use Chameleon, however all 13 of Chameleon's programs were blocked in the same way. Therefore I booted into safe mode and ran Malwarebytes from there. I did not have any issues running Malwarebytes in safe mode, and the scan removed 14 objects. I booted back into regular Windows however and the problem persisted. I simply have no idea what I must do. Please help if you can, I can't use my computer anymore and very much need your assistance! I am running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview, Build 10122 Thank you for your time!
  7. This is the code from the .bat file. It's suppose to replay a match I've had in a game called "League Of Legends" The website that stores the replay is Lolking.net. I'm pretty sure it doesn't contain malware but just to make sure since I'm skeptical about everything that may contain viruses. @echo off setlocal ENABLEEXTENSIONS setlocal EnableDelayedExpansion set VALUE_NAME=LocalRootFolder set KEY_NAME=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Riot Games\RADS FOR /F "tokens=2*" %%A IN ('REG.EXE QUERY "%KEY_NAME%" /v "%VALUE_NAME%" 2^>NUL ^| FIND "REG_SZ"') DO SET RADS=%%B IF NOT "!RADS!"=="" GOTO PLAY set KEY_NAME=HKCU\SOFTWARE\Riot Games\RADS FOR /F "tokens=2*" %%A IN ('REG.EXE QUERY "%KEY_NAME%" /v "%VALUE_NAME%" 2^>NUL ^| FIND "REG_SZ"') DO SET RADS=%%B IF NOT "!RADS!"=="" GOTO PLAY set KEY_NAME=HKCU\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Riot Games\RADS FOR /F "tokens=2*" %%A IN ('REG.EXE QUERY "%KEY_NAME%" /v "%VALUE_NAME%" 2^>NUL ^| FIND "REG_SZ"') DO SET RADS=%%B IF NOT "!RADS!"=="" GOTO PLAY set KEY_NAME=HKCU\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Riot Games\RADS FOR /F "tokens=2*" %%A IN ('REG.EXE QUERY "%KEY_NAME%" /v "%VALUE_NAME%" 2^>NUL ^| FIND "REG_SZ"') DO SET RADS=%%B IF NOT "!RADS!"=="" GOTO PLAY GOTO NOTFOUND :PLAY cd /D %RADS% cd .\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases\ FOR /f %%i in ('dir /a:d /b') do set RELEASE=%%i cd .\%RELEASE%\deploy @start "" "League of Legends.exe" "8394" "LoLLauncher.exe" "" "spectator replays.lolking.net:80 A3L73//f2ZlJUjkfm6Pe502xclqtw0XY 1644089986 NA1" GOTO DONE :NOTFOUND echo Could not find League of Legends installation. @pause :DONE endlocal
  8. When running in normal boot mode,, hour glass spins but programs never launch. Everything takes minutes to process --- but nothing happens. I brought up the Task Manager, but it doesn't look normal and doesn't show any applications running (not even task manager) and the processes all show 1 or 2 CPU Some Icons not showing up on bottom Launch Tray (like internet bars, battery, etc) I ran Malware Bytes 1.x first and it found one serious virus Trojan.RotBrowser and removed it. Also removed a load of Pups. Ran TDSSKiller and it didn't find anything. Ran MalwareBytes again and it found 1 Pup (Conduit) and removed Still did not work Run AVG and it looks like it removed the Malware Bytes Clean.dll (so I deinstalled MBAM and reinstalled MBAM 2.0) Found a file on C: called LogFileIU that looks like it has something to do with Conduit (attached below) Started looking for help....... Ran MBAM 2.0 (3 minor items only) attached below) Ran Farbar and attached logs below: FRST_14-06-2014_13-32-08.txt Addition.txt mbam-log-2014-06-14 (12-10-54).xml protection-log-2014-06-14.xml logFileUI.txt mbam-log-2014-06-13 (21-47-11).txt mbam-log-2014-06-13 (23-29-05).txt mbam-log-2014-06-14 (00-08-26).txt TDSSKiller.

  10. Hello everyone! I just got a new laptop for the college, and I need some files from my old laptop. But, for protection, I did some scans on the old laptop to be sure that nothing is infected. Here is the results; - Avast Rescue Disk - nothing infected (some files were a "decompression bomb", but I removed them) - ESET Online Scanner - nothing infected - Malwarebytes full scan on Safe Mode - nothing infected So, I'm safe to do the backup? Or should I do the diagnostic logs? Thank you guys for the help.
  11. SafeSearch got downloaded covertly when I was downloading a program from the internet, and now when I open IE it opens to SafeSearch's page instead of the homepage I have set in Tools>Internet Options. It overrides it. I have tried every removal program suggested on the internet and none work. Malwarebytes was one of the programs recommended, but I already had Malwarebytes Pro and it doesn't even recognize it, much less get rid of it. How can I get my browser's settings back? I have Win 7 Home Premium, Sp1 and IE 11.
  12. Hello, I am using Windows 7 64-bit. My PC has been infected with the FBI MoneyPak virus and the virus has blocked my safe mode. What should I do to remove the virus without reinstalling my OS? I am writing this on a borrowed PC.
  13. Hi, friends. I have two questions refered to above newsletter: - What is the meaning of "Valid for new customers only"? I suppose all of us are old customers, as we already have purchased MBAM, therefore this offer (O&O +MBAM) attends to whom..? - By the way, I use "Privacy Eraser Pro" and I would like to ask your opinion about this software. I mean, to bring into contrast O&O and Privacy Eraser Pro - if there is a friend who has already did it. I woud be grateful. Thank you.
