  1. Hello everyone. First Post here for me. Not going to hound or whine for a fix, just looking for a way to deal with this drag on my PC's performance issue. So some details that others might provide are missing here. I've read a lot of posts on this issue, and it seems to be at least a year since a MB Representative said on this Forum that a fix was "in the works". Obviously MB is not interested in fixing this issue or they CAN'T fix it. Either way, if I can't find a workaround to at least deal with it, it will be time for me to find another scanner. I used to leave my PC turned on 24/7 & just locked the screen when finished for the day. Things like system wide malware scans were never a problem as I just scheduled them when I knew I would be away, usually late at night. I no longer leave the PC on. Problem now is that as soon as I turn it on for the day, Malware Bytes (among others) jump immediately into action and gobble up huge portions of my PC’s resources, causing very noticeable and bothersome lags in performance for the things I want to use the PC for. This in spite of a 4.0 GHz, 6-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM and a SSD System drive. A task as simple as just loading a program can take as long as 2-3 minutes where it normally takes only 7-10 SECONDS! My question is this: Is there a FIX for this? If not, is there a way to setup MB to either limit its use of resources (preferred) OR, if that is not possible, set MB to turn off the PC after I *MANUALLY* initiate a scan? Appreciate whatever help anyone can provide, -Gary MB Premium Version: 3.3.1.2183 Component package version: 1.0.262 Update package version: 1.0.4306 Now it
  2. As of this morning Malwarebytes is making my computer unusable. The memory and disk usage is maxing out. Please fix this. mb-check-results.zip
  3. Hi there, I'm new here but this virus has been irritating me for the last few days. I've downloaded HitmanPro, Emsisoft, and MalwareBytes and none have managed to remove this damn thing. It adds Windows Resource Manager and is taking up way too many resources. I also get redirected to bing despite my default search engine being google with some times clicking pages im already on leads me to something called Reimage. There's 2 process that are random letters that I've seen before when I've gotten viruses before. The iaetcvlsvc.exe is an interesting one as I can't seem to find any record of it online but igfxmtc.exe seems to be a common one. Can someone please help me? I've also included all the logs I've gotten so far on mbar. mbar-log-2017-12-22 (00-31-02).txt mbar-log-2017-12-22 (11-42-54).txt mbar-log-2017-12-22 (12-56-42).txt mbar-log-2017-12-22 (13-00-48).txt
  4. I installed anti-ransomeware several weeks ago. I am happy to evaluate it but not sure what I am looking for. So far it does not appear have any impact on my resources. I have not received any updates. Just not sure how I would even know it is working. My PC has the following additional coverage. Webroot Open DNS umbrella client Thanks in advance for your help. Tim
  5. On Monday, I received the upgrade to Malwarebytes 3.0.6 from the previous one and I have to say, I am not happy with it at all. My main gripe is that it has become more resource-heavy when one of its processes, "MBAMProcess", takes up over 300MB of memory and with that number being higher than "explorer.exe" and "svchost.exe" combined, and even worse when I have Mozilla Firefox open that also consumes memory, and this is because I only have 4GB of memory for this laptop (which is a Dell Inspiron N7010) and when I performed the first scan with it, the laptop is forced to work harder as it causes its fan to spin faster, implicating that the scanning process is now much more intense and to be frank, is not good for a seven-year old machine. Don't want the fan to wear out each time I do a scan. Also, the animations within the program are somewhat choppy even during the scan and from what I've seen and experienced, I feel this is more optimised for Windows 10 but that's solely my opinion. Unhappy with this, I decided to downgrade it back to 2.2.1.1043 but after I did that, I am denied of real-time protection and with the program nagging me to upgrade each time I open it. Even if this has three more months of support, I feel this is entirely not fair unless I done something wrong. According to the FAQ, I didn't know you had to reboot after the removal of the new version and then install the older one. Maybe that's why I'm getting this but, I don't know. I don't really want to part with the software itself as it has been very good to me since I had it, and I hope things will change for the next release even with what I said above.
  6. Hello, I am new to the forums and thank you for taking the time to help. I have a 3 PC's all running windows 10 all with malwarebytes Home Premium, that this has effected. About 3-4 weeks ago I started getting a malwarebytes has blocked a malicious site warning. I am attaching a screen shot of the exact warning. It refers to a resources.crossrider.com. It pops up about every 3 seconds continuously. I have run scans over and over and MWB finds nothing. Then all of a sudden, on my big machine (desktop), it found like 40 PUP items labels resources.crossrider.com and other crossrider.com variations and it has seemed to clear it up just on the one machine. The others still scan with nothing found. It seems to me that it spread through chrome because I am generally careful on what I download program wise and is nothing that has been downloaded on all three machines. Any ideas on what is going on would be greatly appreciated. Thanks D Addition.txt FRST.txt
  7. Program version: 2.0.2.1012. Under Vista 32 bit. 1 GB RAM Hi. Malwarebytes seems to use a lot of memory resources, Can I make it use less without compromising efficiency? Thanks
  8. Ok.. so first.. I love Malwarebytes.. Swear by it. Live by it .. etc.. Been Using it for like 3 years now .. I upgraded to Windows 8 2 months ago.. Everything was workin fine. All of sudden i dunno what the hell yall did.. but whenever it was my Malwarebytes Icon changed (after an update) .. Malwarebytes been doing some weird hidden stuff in the background.. and its making stuff not work on my PC correctly.. For instance I make music on my PC .. every since this new version of Malwarebytes installed.. now when Im recording or making music.. Malwarebytes is causing my Recording software to stall .. or like freeze for like 4 secs... and it happens like frequently .. so if im recording or playing back music using my audio interface thru my recording software ... it will just freeze for 3-4 secs.. and i'f have to press play again.. at first i didn't know wtf the issue was .. then i closed EVERYTHING and started testin it.. and narrowed it to Malwarebytes. . when its completely closed.. everything works.. if it running .. then my audio stuff freezes... Now i haven't really experienced no other issue outside of my audio software. .like if i just use other stuff on my PC i haven't specifically noticed anything else ... except maybe my Google Chrome been actin weird on youtube.. but i cant attribute that to MB ... although i cant thing of anything else that could be causing THAT either.. (another audio issue tho .. hmm) .. but those to applications use 2 different audio devices.. soo idk the co-relation... Is there any way to go back to the old Malwarebyte (red icon) ... if so how.. and will i be at risk? .. well right now my MB is OFF so it cant be any worse than this.. .. . Im just saying . Help? 9. I bought and installed malwarebytes pro today. Some alarm clock went off in my head when I heard my computer working like a crazy nut, even when I was not working on it and I did not run a scan. So I checked the performance and guess what? Malwarebytes thinks it has to work overtime..... CPU usage of 40% and up to 60% from malwarebytes, remember no scan started. Memory usage out of control, occupied from malwarebytes. Disk traffic out of control too. Remember I have no program running, I'm just watching my resource monitor..... How come malwarebyte acts like that? Is there a way that I can keep the program under control? Could I get a refund? It just slows my system down to a snail..... Thanks. Glesu
