Apparently, Malwarebytes detected Exploit.Agent from E:\LAPTOP-IKYCOM-I\Backup Set 2020-12-22 212914\Backup Files 2021-02-02 233834\Backup files 39.zip and Malware.AI.4146947242 from E:\LAPTOP-IKYCOM-I\Backup Set 2020-12-22 212914\Backup Files 2021-0202 233834\Backup files 25.zip and quarantined them on 4/19. I just want to make sure I properly and fully remove them. I'm not sure where they came from but all of my devices have been having persistent on-going problems for the last year and a half. Hoping the removal of these will at least help a little. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had issues with my laptop and after running Malware bytes it located 4 rootkit.fileless.MTGen and 2 Trojan.Fileless.MTGen instances. I have quarantined them but how can I be sure that this has removed everything? Also how concerned should I be that these things were on my computer? What other steps are recommended to ensure the issues are resolved? Appreciate any guidance provided

Hi, MBAM Premium 3.4.5.2467 last night quarantined an old version of Adobe Lightroom 1.4 (that I have used for years) as I was using Lightroom to catalog photos. MBAM identified lightroom.exe and two Win 7 desktop links to lightroom.exe as Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic. Lightroom is indeed inaccessible now from the Windows Start Button as lightroom.exe is missing from its folder tree under C:\Program Files (x86). Could someone please tell me if ransomeware is capable of imbedding itself into a Windows application executable file (from Adobe)? If not, I will know that I can safely restore the quarantined executable file and chalk off the occurrence as a false positive. If ransomeware IS capable of embedding itself into a Windows application executable, not sure what to do. Please help! And thanks, Bruce

Hey there everybody. I apologize if this has already been answered, but I wanted to get your advice on something as I have more than one question. My computer has been popping up with the black screen displaying "taskeng.exe" very quickly, and then it goes away. It usually only does this a bit after starting up and sometimes after opening Chrome. I looked this up and some people say it's fine, others say it could be a sign of a virus/spyware. I did open up task scheduler, go to the task scheduler library, and disabled a task called "User_Feed_Synchronization" after being advised to do so on a Microsoft forum regarding taskeng.exe issues. But apparently that didn't help, because I saw it again? Today I ran a scan with Malwarebytes and 6 threats were detected. I quarantined them, but have not deleted them yet. Should I? Do you think that would help my taskeng.exe problem? Problem is, after I did this scan, the taskeng.exe popup still came after the scan's restart. I will post my results here. Do you think the taskeng.exe is a virus, or don't worry about it? To anyone who replies, thank you so much!!! -Scan Summary- Scan Type: Custom Scan Result: Completed Objects Scanned: 227556 Threats Detected: 6 Threats Quarantined: 6 Time Elapsed: 12 hr, 5 min, 0 sec -Scan Options- Memory: Enabled Startup: Enabled Filesystem: Enabled Archives: Enabled Rootkits: Enabled Heuristics: Enabled PUP: Detect PUM: Detect -Scan Details- Process: 0 (No malicious items detected) Module: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Key: 3 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2FA28606-DE77-4029-AF96-B231E3B8F827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2FA28606-DE77-4029-AF96-B231E3B8F827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKU\S-1-5-21-470504079-2056641531-4023931026-1000\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 Registry Value: 3 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKU\S-1-5-21-470504079-2056641531-4023931026-1000\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341070],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341070],1.0.4030 Registry Data: 0 (No malicious items detected) Data Stream: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folder: 0 (No malicious items detected) File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Physical Sector: 0 (No malicious items detected)

Hi, I was having trouble with Chrome and when I parsed with Malwarebytes I had my favorites deleted. I tried to restore the quarantined files but I can not. I wonder why I can not restore quarantined files? This error appears: "Não é possível restaurar um ou mais itens em quarentena: A operação foi concluída com êxito." "Can not restore one or more items in quarantine: The operation completed successfully." I will be grateful if you can help me on this.

Hi, Is there a way to view details of a quarantined threat? Malwarebytes detected and quarantined a Trojan threat this morning on one of our PCs. The name of the item is "30b4bd14.msi" and it was in C:\Windows\Installer on the PC. I don't know much more than that and would like to see more details about the item, such as the author, where it came from, etc. I went to Google, Yahoo, and Bing to search for that file name but nothing about it came up. Thanks!

Hi, What happens to the quarantined items whenever it is later discovered that the threats are false positive? Are they automatically restored or will they stay in the quarantined folder whenever Malwarebytes is updated? Thanks

During a scan, Malware Bytes advised quarantine of all my Registry keys for Windows 8. Now I can't open, restart, or boot my computer. Windows will not open. I have no access to my screen. I can get to my control panel, security etc. I have a Sony VIAO with a touch screen. Ability to use internet. Has a virus infected my Windows software?
