  1. I keep getting a URL:Mal threat secured notification from my Avast antivirus software. When I run I scan using Avast, it picks up no virus, malware or suspicious threat. When I run a scan in malware bytes it also picks up no malware, viruses or threats. How do i remove this? I am running mac. The threat keeps coming up as being from the following links i have i have never been on before: upd-pct.info/ or pctupd.info/ . I did some research on this, and found out it is coming from PopcornTime which is a P2P app for watching movies. I immediately deleted the app and all its contents but the pop
  2. Hello, I'm working on my parent's computer. Thought I could do a couple of scans to help them. Laptop was running slow, had .dll error popups all the time, computer/printer both had trouble with going offline, found privacy settings all messed up. I'm infected - What do I do now? By AdvancedSetup, January 9, 2009 in Windows Malware Removal Help & Support So, I just read the post (above) which states to not use file cleaners with .dll issues. Hope I haven't made this too complicated. Here is what I've done today: Ran CC Cleaner, Avast anti-virus, Malwarebytes, A
  3. After installing Malwarebytes to remove malware, I get two of these popups during startup. I don't know if they are from malware or from malwarebytes. There is no text in the popup, only an "OK" button and an Info icon. I close these without clicking on the "OK" button, but how do I get rid of these?
  4. I was working on something in Firefox recently when I noticed this pop-up notification. Is this expected behavior from Malwarebytes? I've never seen a pop-up notification like it. No offense to the MBAM design team, but it honestly doesn't look legitimate and I want to confirm that this is legit.
  5. I am also having the same issue. I have run all the tools to no avail. I have attached the requested files. Obviously, I don't want to just ignore the messages, I want to actually delete the adware or whatever it is. Help please. Thanks. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  6. I have the same problem--smartlink.cool--but I do not want to "silence" the warning, I want to find and remove the offending source. I have performed all the steps in the post by miekiemoes but the problem remains. I also ran AdwCleaner to no avail. What can I do?
  7. I keep getting popups from MalwareBytes saying it's blocked smartlink.cool - which is nice - but it would be good to be able to say: "Just block this, log it, but don't bother telling me every time."
  8. I was playing innocently on my phone (with an app I've played several times this month) when Malwarebytes suddenly popped up talking about a safemode tutorial. I tried to bring down my dropdown menu at the top of the screen to push the notification away, but it popped up so fast again I couldn't even do that. After a lot of screaming I managed to get a malwarebytes scan going-- it was clear. I gave up and pressed the safemode button, with instructions of how to boot in safe mode. I tried to power down, but again the popup blocked me. So I did a hard reset and now my phone seems fine. Malwareby
  9. Hello, Have a Windows 10 box that keeps having the "How do you want to open this file" pop up. No file name or extension given. When I select Notepad it says "Cannot find the C:\Program.txt file. Do you want to create a new file? Thoughts?
  10. I never like to add software upgrades when they first come out particularly since I have had previous problems with MWB upgrades. Most credible websites give you an option to check "Not now" or other ways to stop upgrade popups. How can I stop these annoying upgrade notices until I am finally ready to accept them on My schedule?
  11. Hello there, So I have this malware that makes a popup to a porn site after I open Firefox browser (or possibly the computer) then disappears. I check the task manager. The popup opens a logo just like Firefox however the image is not the same and looks different. You can tell by the image I uploaded. I found out its location in my Appdata/Roaming/ComObj/update.exe Then I found out its also running a service which i will mention the name of it later after I give my laptop a restart Besides that I am assuming its a trojan of a sort as its simply is just running while your work

  17. I purchased Malwarebytes in July 2017, until now I have had no problems with it. Each time it asks me to check for updates I have done this every time. Currently I am experiencing problems with my PC and thought I should maybe run a scan to check there's nothing seriously wrong, infections etc. When I try to open Malwarebytes I get a popup saying 'unable to connect the service'. I have run a scan using the free version of AVG, but I know this isn't as in-depth as Malwarebytes. I use both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox as my browsers, and I have Windows 10. 23. Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and I'm here to seek help. I find Malewarebytes very useful because it successfully cured my Chrome problem so I registered for a premium version 3.1.2. Recently I logged in to my college's website to check for results through turnitin. I clicked on the link that led to it but then Malwarebytes didn't allow me to open it. Then I accidentally clicked the 'block pop-up website' option (or something) on the notification board and now I will never be able to see my results again. I tried browsing the forum to find the solution but everything is
