  1. I've been having a problem with a PUP related to Google Chrome that doesn't go away. Frequently I would run Malwarebytes and scan my computer, along with AdwCleaner, and the same PUP keeps showing up no matter how many times I deleted it. I've tried clearing sync data for chrome and uninstalling chrome, and the pup still shows up. I've tried formatting my computer but the PUP showed up again after I redownloaded chrome. I don't know if it showed up when I synced my data again, but regardless this is worrying. The PUP hasn't affected performance, and as far as I know, done anything, but I'm sti

  3. Hello, I am having trouble with PUP.Optional.Legacy in Chrome. Tried multiple scanners, only AdwCleaner detects it I've been battling this beast for a while now. What I've done so far: I've clean installed windows twice. I have reset chrome settings multiple times. I have reset chrome sync multiple times.I have deleted cookies, preferences and all files from %LOCALAPPDATA% for Chrome. I have installed Chrome from the offline installer. I have cut the internet connection and did all of those steps again. I've narrowed it down to this: At first I thought it comes from my profile/s
  4. Hi there. I just signed up after finding out with a quick and first scan ever of AdwCleaner that I am infected with PUP.Optional.Legacy. There were about 3 other PUP infections that were easily removed upon restart. This one kept coming back up with a new scan right away. Here are the logs of the AdwCleaner scan. MalwareBytes itself didn't pick up any threats. # ------------------------------- # Malwarebytes AdwCleaner # ------------------------------- # Build: 04-27-2018 # Database: 2018-05-02.2 # Support: https://www.malwarebytes.com/support # # ----------------
  5. Hi, I have the problem with the PUP.Optional.Spigot, I saw a previous topic, this is the Zoek log. Thank you zoek-results.log
  6. The reason that these pups are not going away is because they are syncing across Chrome on all devices including Mac Linux Android and PC. It is the same file being sent by Chrome across all platforms. It is only detected by Malwarebytes on the PC, it is not detected by malwarebytes for Android or for Mac. I tried the following experiment: I disable all of my devices except for say, one mac and one PC and I clean the PC and then I let the PC in the Mac sync the infection comes back to the PC even though the Mac tested clean (I eat with the Mac version of Malwarebytes). The sam
  7. Good Afternoon, I have seen there are quite a few other people who are having this same issue, and so I want to make a post to try to resolve this same issue I am having. This PUP.Optional.Spigot keeps coming back, even after I let the scan go and I quarantine it. I followed the guidelines listed in this post: However, this did not help, as the PUP still came back after following the directions. I'm not the best at figuring out this kind of stuff, so some help would be greatly appreciated. I'll post the logs of the Malwarebytes Scan that I ran, as well as that FRST and Addition.t

  9. Malwarebytes Premium Trial is constantly blocking a malicious website called coin-hive,com. Malwarebytes didn't detect any virus so i decided to use AdwCleaner. It detected PUP.Optional.Legacy, and it deleted it, but when i reboot the pc as adwcleaner asks me, malwarebytes continues blocking this website, and when i run AdwCleaner again, PUP.Optional.Legacy is there again. What do i do? AdwCleaner report: # AdwCleaner - Logfile created on Tue Sep 19 16:54:04 2017 # Updated on 2017/29/08 by Malwarebytes # Database: 09-18-2017.1 # Running on Windows 7 Ultimate (X6

Download Source: http://www.sordum.org/7952/dns-jumper-v2-1/ Imgur Link: Software: Windows 10 AU Malwarebytes PRO Norton Internet Security May I check with other users as to whether this program is being falsely identified as a PUP? There's been no other reports of the issue. I've recently started using DNS Jumper again to rapidly switch between various DNS servers as opposed to command prompt / restarting. I don't recall trying any new software in the past 72 hours. However I've just gotten this message overnight that it's being viewed by Malwarebytes as a

  16. Hello, I thought I had removed this earlier with the help from pondus, but it seems to keep coming back. I've noticed that it reappears on the Malwarebytes scan after I reload my Chrome browser settings (i.e. after I have reset my Chrome browser and then scanning after I have reloaded my personal settings). I'm concerned that this malware might be leeching personal information. Can someone please help me definitively remove PUP.Optional.Spigot.A? Thanks.
  17. Hi, I posted this thread in the malware support forum but then was redirected here. I've followed the steps mentioned in the sticky (I suppose?) and have also attached the log files. Well anyways the problem is mentioned below I have this strange and irritating problem that's making my laptop, especially chrome really slow and buggy. I scanned today just to make sure that there is
