  1. just downloaded this new version of malwarebytes for home use on windows on a HP laptop with windows 10 - on the new malwarebytes for windows the words are blocked out (see picture)
  2. In Settings, Application, Application Updates I have both off. Yet it still pesters me all day long asking me if I want the newer version. Does this software have a seriously bad case of amnesia? You'd think after about 50 times of hearing NO it would learn. Or am I doing this wrong? I sure hope so.
  3. I just got a message from Malwarebytes that a new upgrade is available and do I want to install. In fact, I don't, because my Win7 system doesn't handle Malwarebytes' installer very well. I always have to download the installer and do a manual install after I have deleted the original version. Here's what I'm currently running: What is the new version and where do I find a copy to download?
  4. I updated successfully to the new Malwarebytes consumer (premium) on M$-Windows XP SP3 32-bit, but Firefox ESR 45.9.0 and Thunderbird 52.3.0 would each fail to start, presenting the window offering to submit a crash report (to Mozilla). Google Chrome 49.0.2623.112 and SAS 9.3 both started and ran fine. I tried turning off Malwarebytes protection features, one-by-one, even turning off protection specifically for Firefox. The only way I could restore functionality for Firefox and Thunderbird was to remove Malwarebytes and reinstall Malwarebytes (premium). I upgraded Malwarebytes to the latest version on a Windows 7 laptop. It works fine, but does not have Thunderbird. Thanks for any suggestions
  5. Hi, I have a notification on my malwarebytes dashboard stating a 'new and improved version of malwarebytes is available' then an install button. I select the install but nothing happens, can anyone help?
  6. Since I tried a few times running the 3.x.x version and had some problems running it on my HP g6 notebook, I downloaded the V2.2.1 ver and have been using it with no problems. I have been getting nuisance messages to install the newest version. I like the 2.2.1 version and not very inclined to install the newest issue. Reading the postings on the mbam 3.xx site, there seems to me that there are many problems with the new version. I would be afraid to install it at this point. Mbam update version notifications is like Microsoft nuisance messages.
  7. I realize this is growing pains with the new version and I'm yet to try to get all the 'real time' protection to work yet, but- Every day (I've been gone for 2 weeks) there is a 'new version' to install- 1469. Unfortunately, 1469 has been installed, oh, I don't know- 30 times now? It just keeps trying to put it on. So I'd be most grateful as to know what to do- and I've done the uninstall/reinstall 2x again.
  8. I was away from my computer for most of the day today; during this time the PC was in sleep mode. When I returned and logged on, I found 8 separate identical popups saying "A new version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is ready to be installed. Install now?" What seems to happen is that the application pops open an alert, and then after some time passes it simply pops open another one, and then later another one and later another one, and so on. I appreciate being alerted to the fact that a new version is ready, but I do not need multiple popups telling me this. Just one single popup would be sufficient. I assume this is a bug rather than a feature. I googled for this issue but didn't find other reports (couldn't search the forums since the forum search was throwing up an error message). I'm using v. Premium on Windows 7, normally logged in with a standard user account (not admin account). The setting for "Check for program updates when checking for database updates" is checked. "Check for updates" is set for once every hour.
  9. Hi All, I'm not one to post at forums all that often but this one time I decided it's worth the effort. The new version of MBAM is so lacking in user-friendliness and there is a certain "iffyness" to its behaviour that I've wondered why MalwareBytes would release such a flawed product? The "iffy" behaviour is the most annoying since you never really know what the application is doing, heck, it can't even check for updates without having problems! A BIG QUESTION for MalwareBytes: Why are you subjecting your installed user base to this terrible release when it makes you look like a third rate company? This release is something you would expect from a company without much experience, not from a provider such as MBAM. This look so bad for your company and I am speechless as to why you've done this !!!
  10. Hi all, I just got back from vaca and powered on my PC. Malware bytes said it downloaded a new version and needed to install. OK no problem. Boom popup saying I need to log in as administrator (see image). So I closed it out and right-clicked and clicked on "Run as Administrator" and still the same issue. I'm running Windows 8.1 fully updated and my account is the only account on this PC. I've never had trouble installing an upgraded version in the past. Any ideas?
  11. Hello Malware Bytes support, I have recently updated my MBAM premium version to the latest v. under Windows 7 (64-bit). Additionally I use Avast (free version) antivirus to protect my PC. The recent version is causing my computer to crash with the dreaded 'Blue Screen of Death' (BSOD) which has never ever happened before with any other program since the past 3 years life of my computer. I looked online and found another similar post with the recommendation of turning the root-kit scan off under MBAM settings which I had enabled when I first installed the latest verison (v2...) However nothing has changed and my PC continues to freeze and crash whenever the scan runs. Please advice.
