  1. So I am stuck here on this one as well. Wishing things just worked as intended instead of fighting with everything. I noticed last night that for some reason malware bytes was uninstalled from my computer. Weird but ok (I blame windows 10) so I downloaded the installed activated my key, checked for updates, and ran a treat scan. This morning it pops up with Real-Time Protection layers turned off. I found the options on Malwarebytes and try to turn it on. It gives me the Starting... but never changes and the dumb pop thing for Malware keep notifying me its off. It is also not scanning properly when I click for it to scan. Scan not files for 1 to 2 sec and then says finished. I have uninstalled it already this morning, used the mbam cleaner tool (mbam-clean- and reinstalled it to no success. I don't know if this is the most up to date cleaner or not. I have checked the compatibility Porthos mentioned earlier in this thread. I have also went into Windows Defender and added the exception for the files. I have windows 10 64bit, windows defender and soon to be a different malware software if they cant get their crap together. I don't get to spend a lot of time on the computer and when I do I when I am trying to fix someone else mistakes specially when I have paid for the service. It like paying someone to wash your car and they expect you to run the hose, fill their buckets, and grab their rags for them when they ask for it. Sorry for the rant and I did read you Quote, Porthos, so I do thank you for your time although Malware should be putting a check in the mail for you. At a loss here.
  2. Hi all I have a 1 lifetime Anti-Malware license for PC which I got back in the day. It's dutifully upgraded over the years, most recently 7 November, when I got version I'm runing Windows 10 Home (Build 16299) and Norton Premium. Today (Sat. 18 Nov) was a big day for updates. I got a Windows update, Adobe Reader 11 (and changed it for Acrobat DC), 100 MB of Norton - I think that's it. At one point my Outlook 2013 client (I was online at the time) got fed up with working and disappeared. (I mean its open windows did - its icon stayed on the taskbar and kept launching textboxes at me when I asked it to reopen saying no, it wouldn't). It was about then I noticed the orange popups in the lower right corner screaming there was no realtime protection. I had recently clicked accidentally on a link in an email I distrusted and, although nothing happened except the Microsoft "something's-happening" wheel rotated for a bit, I've paranoically worried since I've thereby downloaded spyware which will call back to mother next time I go online. I've done a compatability check, repeated scans in and out of Safe Mode. Found nothing - changed nothing. I'm only unable to turn real-time protection on. All other settings except Delay real time protection ... I've turned or left on. I'm writing this from another laptop. So, long story short, help??? ausgumbie
  3. Hi! Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 + Malwarebytes its good solution ? I have Windows 8.1
  4. After multiple attempts at cleaning a viscious infection I ended up completely wiping 2 PC's and getting a new router. I am now just starting to get my laptop back, up to date & online. I see no problems yet, but I am very reluctant to open a web browser just yet. I paid and registered MBAM Premium & Anti-Exploit Premium and opted to receive the disk as wwell, but during my previous nightmare I was trying to run MBAM from the disk and was unable to (I was able to just fine prior to becoming infected). Now that I'm up and running again I would like to intall MBAM from the disk, but before I do I wanted to know if a disk could be infected? Or am I in the clear and paranoid? THANK YOU!
  5. Win XP SP3 IE 8.0.6001.18702 I rarely use IE (pretty much just for MS update). I have 2 similar machines. This started on 1 a couple months ago, & on the other tonight. The attached file is from my main pc, which has had the issue for a couple months. I get a "blocked an exploit attempt" message upon opening, but no specifics as to what exploit is occurring. I have 2 rootkit scanners (MB A-M PRO & Greatis Reg Run) on both machines & neither have found anything. Neither have several other malware & AV products. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.zip TIA
  6. I APOLOGIZE: THIS IS A LONG WINDED SYNOPSIS, but I need some kind of advice before I absolutely lose it! Everything I seem to do is somehow blocked, hidden, corrupted, etc (INCLUDING MBAM Premium and MBAE Premium & MBAR!) by this - virus? /malware? /identity theft?/ CYBER TERRORISM?? I don't know. THANK YOU to ANYONE who can steer me in the right direction. I have always been careful online and never thought Cyber Terrorism could ever happen to me, but the past few months have been a living hell and the stress level in my family is absolutely overwhelming all due to this hidden digital horror and I NEED my life back! Sorry for the introduction, but I am desperate here. Anyway, a little over two months ago I discovered some kind of virus on my computer, a very visible, lost administrative access, etc. At that time I was only secured by my ISP "Comcasts Norton 360." I contacted them immediately and they remotely went into my computer and just deleted a bunch of files and God knows what else they did (apparently Symantec has a special "department" for Comcast Norton customers?!?). Not less than a day after I'm noticing all kinds of stuff again. So, I called the local "PC Repair Man" whom I've now come to believe is a joke, and he did his thing installing some Spyware Program from a USB stick, claimed everything was all fixed and left me with the $120 bill. I went on vacation for 2 weeks and came back to ALL KINDS of problems and on my Laptop AND my desktop!.. Programs I didn't install, updates from Microsoft that were years old, revoked administrative access, webpage redirecting, running in 32bit instead of my 8.1 64bit, EVERYTHING! So, in a panic I did the Windows 8.1 "Refresh" of both desktop and laptop. Called Comcast Norton again, they come on my Laptop this time and see I "wiped" (refreshed) everything, so they just run Norton Power Eraser for good measure, of course it comes up clean. BUT, just to be sure I was totally in the clear I had doofus "reapair" guy over again and there goes another $120 just to say I fixed it myself.... Things seemed fine for a week or so and I started doing lots of research on the hacking culture. I bought MBAM Premium and MBAE Premium and decided to change my ISP to Verizon Fios. THE DAY AFTER Verizon internet was installed I again became locked out of key features and some even simple ones of my computer. I kept being redirected, kicked out of my accounts out of nowhere, my Microsoft account was stolen and I had to jump through hoops to recover it by phone. But what is REALLY weird, as well as beyond frustrating is that this thing starts spreading across EVERY device in my name. Two tablets, my two computers and MY PHONE! I had an LG and it was showing it connecting with other LG's and turning on and off, battery draining, and ALL my devices are constantly working their butt off at something! CPU and RAM usage so high, it was rendering them useless. So, here I stand. I can no longer try to keep chasing this down and self diagnosing. My $3K Laptop lies without it's battery attached for 2 weeks, I broke down and got a brand new phone and my Nook HD tablets have been wiped twice and still CM Security continues to list virus after virus attached to them, so they're permanently off for now. So, all I have am using now is my desktop. I did a system restore on it (although I was only allowed to go a few weeks back), about a week ago - this then activated a free trial of Norton Antivirus, NOT the Comcast one. I run MBAM Premium and Norton scans daily. MBAE Premium is always on screen, yet my computer is STILL as slow as molasses and I get warnings and crash reports from Google Chrome and IE 11 every time I use them. I can't even run a few small computer games for my 5 year old, they just slow to a freeze. I am terrified to even put the battery back in my laptop. Before this whole nightmare, my desktop was running heavy photo software along with large 'Minecraft" worlds (all closed games, just my son and I) at lighting speed! So, I believe there are some serious lingering Rootkits and/or Backdoors somewhere deep in the system. And clearly all my attempts at wiping them with "refreshes" does nothing but leave them undetectable by antivirus and anti malware software so they are just patiently waiting again for that one accidental click to open the flood gates once again. I'm sorry I wrote an essay and if you got this far you are awesome! I need some kind of sound advice, anything from anyone with true knowledge on how to see into the depths of my computer and clean it up and keep it that way. Thanks again. Everyone at Malwarebytes is a true hero. I will be checking for any responses continuously throughout the night and days. Sincerely, Stephen
  7. Sometime in the last couple of weeks, my MBAM updates stopped working automatically. Problem may have started with the update to version I have MBAM set up to check for updates on each boot. Each day I start the PC and the MBAM Icon says databases are out of date. Then I do a Manual update and it works OK until the next day. Up until recently it all worked automatically. MBAM Premium Windows 7 pro. 64 bit, Running as Standard user.
  8. Hi there, My MBAM Premium scan detected Trojan.Agent.ED on June 17. I quarantined and deleted it, then ran CCleaner too. The scans up until today, June 20, were clean, but now it says it found Trojan.Agent.ED again. I have no clue how I am getting infected with this virus, or whether I have been able to clean it off properly. Can someone help me make sure this virus is fully cleared? Thanks.
