  1. A couple days ago, Avast loaded onto my computer while I was downloading an update for CCleaner. I went to Avast support for help in removing it, as it would not allow me to do it (said I didn't have authorization). At this time, apparently a file called AvLaunch.exe also loaded. It is still there, and it is messing with my computer performance, bigtime. It's killing my battery, starting programs (like Edge) which I have repeatedly turned off, won't let me chat or communicate directly with Malwarebytes, slow load times, etc. I need help. This is further complicated by the fact that I'm c
  2. Recently Malwarebytes has started flagging "Lenovo Kid's Account" /system/priv-app/KidozOS.apk on my Lenovo Tab 4 8 as malware Android/Trojan.Autoins.C . As far as I know this file has not been changed recently and is not an app that I have ever used. It is a system file, so cannot be uninstalled. Malwarebytes suggests just whitelisting it and says it is disabled, although I'm not sure how to confirm that that is actually the case. Has anyone else seen this? OS is Android 7.1.1, Security patch level April 1, 2018.
  3. Following on the heels of older reports of MBAM causing 'freezes', my laptop started snoozing after downloading the latest release... Initially, though it's a trial version of the premium flavor, 'Malware Protection" is disabled and cannot be switched on. After several un-/reinstalls the behavior hasn't changed: a few moments into a scan 'sleep' mode is entered; wake-up lasts only long enough to flash the screen before reverting to 'sleep'. ....of interest is that the AVAST! service seems to unexpectedly get STOPped lately, but prior to downloading MBAM. The 'cur
  4. Hi, I purchaced 3 copies of MalwareBytes Pro from Newegg a few months ago. I am delighted to say that 2 of the copies, both in lenovo k410's are working well. JUst recently tried to install the 3rd copy into a lenovo g585 laptop and after the login screen it goes blank with a floating cursor. I have gone back in and removed the Malware bytes software in safe mode and finally have a functioning computer again, though unprotected. what gives? Hondo812
  5. I am recieving 2 FPs on one of the Lenovo system utilities on my system. Virustotal shows no detections on the indicated file: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/bbbae762fa22ccde6cc8db488b6980aa4bc1249c027c547777ab0db2ebb4465b/analysis/ The scan log and affected files are attached. 0x0A0D_Lenovo_FP.zip
  6. I just recently have been getting this pop-up by avast: http://imm.io/14IXB and afterwards insisting that it do a boot scan. I've done 2 of them and it didn't find anything. Malware bytes hasn't found anything, and I even tried the anti-rootkit tool. I'm running windows 8 and have recently refreshed the system, so this could be a false positive but I want to be sure. Here's the log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4 Scan saved at 1:40:37 PM, on 5/2/2013 Platform: Unknown Windows (WinNT 6.02.1008) MSIE: Internet Explorer v10.0 (10.00.9200.16537) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\Pr
  7. I hope that I'm posting this correctly based on the rules of the thread. I recently, as in a couple days ago, got a quarentine notice of 2 "Trojan.Passwords.LD". The files that were quarentined were: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\RapidBoot HDD Accelerator\FBConsole.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\RapidBoot HDD Accelerator\FBLiveUpdate.dll I just recently updated the Lenovo software that came with the laptop, using Lenovos' updater, and I was surprised that MalwareBytes flagged these files. I've also not noticed anything really weird happening with my machine so I'm just a little curious as t
