  1. Hello, I want to remove the KMS-R@1n software from my computer, but I don't want to reinstall Windows since I have a lot of games that I don't want to reinstall due of my internet connection. I've read some old posts here, so I've already completed all three processes. Unfortunately, I ran malware earlier today, so I'm not sure if this file would assist you or not, but Malware is no longer detecting anything. But I've completed the rest, so I'm hoping this helps. 41186da3-851e-11ec-9134-2cf05d5a2d81.txt Addition.txt AdwCleaner[C00].txt FRST.txt
  2. Hi! There are two processes in my windows 10 that are worrying me. The first is the KMS Connection Broker, which opens and closes at all times, always for a few seconds. My connection is quite slow, the downloads that happened at 1mb / s are now slowing down to about 50kb / s. Can this process contain a virus? I have already identified and deleted the KMS-R@1n logs following information from the forum, but this KMS Connection can not resolve in any way. Can it be related to the slow downloads? The other is Runtime Broker. I understand it's a windows process, but it's behaving strangely. It is taking up many MBs of memory and is running in processes and apps (which I do not even use!) Like: Microsoft Pay, Microsoft Store, Search, Windows Shell, People ... I've gone through all the anti-virus, anti-malware, registry error brokers, and nothing was found. Can you tell if it's a virus, a keylogger, or something? Are these processes 100% secure?

  5. Hi guys, I would like to remove KMS-R@1N from my PC because it's causing Microsoft Platform Protection Service to hog my CPU (mostly going over 50% usage), making my pc run slowly sometimes. Disabling Microsoft Platform Protection Service made windows detect my PC as unlicenced although fixing the high CPU usage issue and I obviously can't live with Windows on my PC flagged as unlicenced. I would love your utmost help in removing it, cuz it looks like I won't even be able to use a legit windows key when I get one, because of it. Thanks a bunch in advance.... FRST.txt Addition.txt

  7. Hey guys, I want to buy a legit Windows key because I think KMS-R@1N is causing Microsoft Platform Protection Service to hog my CPU and making it run at full speed when it should be idle. I have disabled MPPS in my Registry which fixes that problem, but now Windows is flagging my pc as unlicensed. Could you help me remove KMS-R@1N from my PC? I have attached Addition and FRST. Thanks in advance! Addition.txt FRST.txt

  9. I know the KMS-R@1n virus is associated with illegal actions on Microsoft software, I can assure you that any Microsoft software on my computer is legitimate and legal. Now to my issue. I have been having a lot of problems in the past week with my laptop (after I uninstalled and re-installed my anti-virus). Since then I've been getting a lot of driver errors and other programs errors. I have run the tests listed on this Reddit thread. Malwarebytes did not discover any threats, ADW did not either, JRT discovered one and Hitman Prod discovered 11 which were all detected and 'cleaned'. I have located the file in my C:/Windows directory. I have tried to scan the file directly but Malware Byes does not recognize it as a threat. I also cannot delete it, once it is deleted it just comes back after a restart. I have tried killing it in services.msc and disabled the auto start up. Right now I'm creating a bootable USB drive with Avira Rescue System on it in hopes of getting rid of this thing. Hopefully, someone here can help me out as there's not much on the internet to go by regarding this trojan.
