  1. So I am on free premium trial of mbt's latest version. Today when I scanned my laptop with MBT the scan came clean and the threat scan summary shows no Detections found. But when I checked the log file generated for this scan, it says that 1 threat is detected. The threat is related to HackTool.KMS . Now I remember last year when I scanned a lot of files related to KMS activator were quarantined by malwarebytes but why now it is showing this detection in log file but not in threat summary ? I am confused whether I have malware or not ? Now considering this I checked my old scan log files too. Around 6 months ago in Jan, I initiated a full system scan with MBT. It ran for almost 2 days but was taking a lot of time to complete, so I canceled it after 2 days. My detection history says that during that scan 2 files were detected and quarantined. One was related to RiskWare.GameHack and another was related to Malware.AI. Again the log file for this scan tells a different story. It says that I have 4 detections. Some are related to the previous 2 that I mentioned and rest are related to Malware.Heuristic and HackTool.KMS. It is also labelling some preinstalled window game as threat. Now if I have malware(as per the log files), why MBT is not showing that in threat scan summary and quarantining it. I am attaching both the old and new log files. Can you please look into the matter and clarify if I have some sort of malware. I am really panicking due to this. Also can you please tell how to delete these logs from here later as it might have some personal data of mine. Thanks in advance. New_Log.txt Old_Log.txt
  2. Hello, brand new forum member here. I just wanted to ask a question that's been bugging me for a while now: Is it possible to exclude an entire category of detections from Malwarebytes Premium? I ask because I use memory-resident programs called 'trainers' that modify the values of a game's RAM to cheat or mod, like infinite health or super jump. Real time protection and scans always classify these as malware and remove them on detection, which is reasonable. But, if I actually want to use these programs I either have to exclude each folder or file manually or exclude the root Downloads folder, which opens my system up by a large margin. So, could I for example, add all 'CheatTool.CETTrainer' or 'Riskware.*' detections to a whitelist and prevent them from being remediated?
  3. I'm not sure what to think about this HP touchsmart with mouse pad or usb mouse The symptom is as follows: Mouse pad or external mouse is jumpy and mouse moves around on it's own. Windows, apps and/or browser opens on it's own and eventually you can't really move your mouse because it jumps to the desktop as soon as you try to hit the X to close a windows or application. The background screen has occasional sparkles or resembles a sprinkle as if a light rain is hitting a smooth lake or something. All wifi and internet are disconnected and wiped the hard drive and partitions using a USB live linux CD to create new partition table and format. I installed Fresh windows and the mouse / sprinkle was starting to emerge again. Even after updating the flash with flash utility the sparkle effect was still present occasionally but the mouse movement appears to be gone from what I can tell. I do suspect the virus is still present in the bios and perhaps back on the hard drive somewhere. Please advise
  4. Hello; first time writing and i'm in a quandary. I love to play shooter games but not very good at it so when i can, i find console commands or use -devmode and when that fails, i find a trainer for the game. This go around, for the game alan wake american nightmare, the trainers i've found are flagged by MB. I read that mostly these are false positives. I don't know how you can tell this from a real virus so i've been deleting those flagged ones. Now i've run out of trainer options. The thing MB picks up is called Hacktool.e (can't see the whole name in taskmanager) probably it's hacktool.exe. Anyway i'm afraid to launch the trainer cause i've had enough of infections and don't want to take anymore chances. What do i need to do in this instance? The offending file comes from GameCopyWorld and is named Alan Wake's: American Nightmare v1.03.17.1781 +9 TRAINER 28-07-2013 by GRIZZLY Thanks guys WP
