  1. So it seems I have some sort of malware on my Google Chrome on Mac. I'm pretty new to this so please bare with me. For example When I search a random search in Google Chrome this URL briefly shows: http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.operativeeng.com%2Fcps%3Fq%3Dwhere%2Bare%2Byou%26_pg%3DD5AF862B-7C24-5787-AF3D-AEAFF9F8B205 I am then redirected to Yahoo's search engine even though Chrome had always been my default. When I go to Chrome settings I see this search engine listed but there is no remove option. Chrome://management shows my computer is b
  2. I have been working with MB and they are not getting back to me (submitted my logs 16 hours ago). I think this is a false positive but need to be sure (I have seen this come through as a false positive before). Anyone else seen this? I saw last week this was an issue but this came through Sunday. Maybe carry over? 3. So I had been dealing virus for a lot of times but this one just seem to be very persistent i should say. The Adware keeps coming back no matter how hard I tried. I had been running registry check, booting in safe mode and do a recovey state and a lot more stuff like using 5 antivirus to handle this not to mention searching one by one files to search it's core but to my demise I couldn't find it's core till now. Any help for cleaning this adware? cause i had done a factory reset and it was still here :")). Thx before hand
  4. I have brand new DELL computer. I've been using Google Chrome without a problem. Malwarebytes keeps popping up notification that free update should be installed. After I did it, Google Chrome is running very slow. And when I tried opening a PDF file, it would not open. And I keep getting this error message now (see attachment). I tried Microsoft Edge browser and that is working very quickly. I'm not a technical guy but can someone help me?
  5. Hello, suddenly every time that i launch google chrome, it opens a second tab to ownza.com/featured. I ran a malwarebytes scan and found nothing. Also tried it in safe mode and found nothing. Windows security also couldn't find anything. How do i get rid of this?
  6. I'm curious about what this is.....after Windows 10 update today, this popped up. Any comments would be appreciated. A scan showed no threats detected.
  7. Malwarebytes tells me through scans that PUP files are present in google chrome, and when quarantined then removed they return quickly. I installed chrome on a new laptop recently and the PUP files are detected on that as well now- so concerned that the issue is with my account. I have attached the most recent scan results on my laptop. Would appreciate any help as is concerning me. RESULTS.txt
  8. a popup started to come on my google screen saying flash was going to be deleted or something like that, and i tried to play a flash game online so i downloaded it, and i think that might be what gave me a virus because i didn't download anything else, today i tried to scroll down in google and my zoom was set as my scroll so i couldn't scroll down, and my keybindings were all messed up, most letters didn't even work and some just sent me to my history by just clicking a letter. so I couldn't type in google, or in my search engine to restart my PC. i kept trying to scan through malware bytes a
  9. Hi Guys, I am recentky starting to see my CPU usage spiking to 70 80% for no reasing I have the latest malwarebytes premium 3.8.3 and ran a full system scan and everything seems to be fine however, when I checked in the task manager there is this elevation_service.exe sometimes comes up as chrome elevation service hammering my cpu and slowing it to the point where it takes a good 30 seconds to open a folder only. I have googled and found out that it has to do something with Google Chrome update service. But, after following a tutorial I that I will include here for reference it does
  10. I have an old Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 3) that is now unable to perform System Restore on ANY restore point. This computer uses a dial-up connection to connect to the internet and normally has a speed of 44.0 - 45.2 kbps, but now only connects at 24.6 kbps. Here's a list of events and the dates they occurred on. Sorry for the length of this post. February 21st: - Updated Avast Virus Definitions in the early afternoon. I turned off the computer after updating. - Turned on the computer in the evening, and the dial-up connection window appeared on st
  11. Google has just invited anyone with the skills to start a massive hacking campaign through Android OS. Plain & simple!! 👎 Malwarebytes has been crippled on the Android OS now. Scanning app's & incoming online material is only a third of what this Company does for any & every customer of the mobile type. Think about it as though the Spam phone calls & text/SMS are also being watched & guarded from hacker's. Thereby the other ⅔ we get with our subscription. Basic search using any choice of browser will show almost any app/apk found on Google Play, can be downloaded
  12. Hello everyone, I just read this article and got a little worried: https://www.howtogeek.com/fyi/bing-is-pushing-malware-when-you-search-for-chrome/ I have three quick questions that I hope someone could help me with: 1. If you actually run that phony installer, will it still act as the official installer? As in everything will act normally but you actually have a hidden malware in your Chrome? 2. If I installed Chrome a while ago, how can I check that my installation is genuine and not a fake Google Chrome? I don' have the installer anymore. 3. Would a Malwarebyt
  13. Hello all, I have recently noticed that Google Chrome browser version 68.0.3440.84 (64 bit) has been displaying periodically a message that my Malwarebytes version 3.5.1.2522 needs to be updated or removed due to it being incompatible. So I disabled the Chrome Browser settings in the advanced protection area of Malwarebytes as well as the protected applications area to no success so I re-enabled those settings and disabled the web protection and exploit protection and the message is now gone......obviously this is totally unacceptable so I am throwing this out to the forums to see i

  16. Hello, I am wondering how I stop Malwarebytes from shutting down Google every night.
  17. Hello community, i'm facing a weird issue with google chrome. After updating my malwarebytes to version 3.5.1.2522 (component package version: 1.0.374 and update package version: 1.0.5468), i can't open my google chrome. Malwarebytes anti-exploit keeps on blocking google chrome from opening. I uninstalled and reinstalled google chrome, removed all the extensions, deleted profiles, installed Google chrome canary but nothing seems to be working. I also contacted google chrome support forum and followed everything they suggested but nothing works. Could someone help

  19. I'm having trouble getting rid of some virus that's redirecting all of my google searches to extension.citypage.today and then to a similar bing search. I've tested this with both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge so I believe it isn't browser specific. Regardless I've tried everything I can think of and nothing has gotten rid of it. While I've also tried a couple of other antiviruses, none of them (including Malwarebytes premium free trial) have helped. I downloaded and ran the FRST scan like asked and attached the files. I also attached my most recent Malwarebytes threat scan. It does sa
  20. Hi All,I am having an issue where when I do a google search, it redirects to yahoo search, but shows as search.yahoo wajam. I cannot figure out how to remove this. I tried Malwarebytes and it is not picking it up. I tried chrome extensions and wajam is not listed. I removed all extensions and even removed chrome and tried to reinstall. It only affects google search. Anything I can do. This happens on all browsers. I am assuming it is spyware? I have looked at many wajam removal sites, but I do not have anything on my mac that has wajam. Here are some screenshots after google searching t
  21. Hi, I cannot get to the site swimireland.ie (www.swimireland.ie) as Malware Bytes flags it as having Malware. When google checks it, it says its clear. Can you please check it to see if it is clear as google says? Also, if that is the case, why do you flag it as having Malware? Thanks, Neil
  22. About an hour ago malwarebytes suddenly began flagging a bunch of outbound and inbound processes on my computer as malicious. I ran a scan (which I do every hour automatically anyway) and it found nothing. I made sure my database was updated. I shut off my modem and computer, etc. I tried getting onto the internet with opera instead of chrome, but couldn't establish a secure connection from that browser either. I am only on the internet now because I disabled malwarebytes malware protection. I saved screen shots of quite a few of my errors though not all of them. I just renewed my Malwarebytes
  23. My computer is infected with Adware.Elex.ShrtCln. All the clean-up information is for infected Google Chrome and I do not have Google chrome. Is it possible for a novice to eradicate this virus or should I take my computer to a specialist? Malwarebytes picks up the virus but will not quarantine it.
  24. Today I realised after a malwarebytes scan that I have the babylon PUP infecting(?) google chrome. I have tried many tools including malwarebytes, avast, ADWcleaner, FRST etc to try and diagnose and resolve the problem but with no luck. I (think) I have narrowed the problem down to a single file: C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Secure Preferences There is a line in this file which sets a startup URL to "http://search.babylon.com/?affID=111434&tt=010712_4&babsrc=HP_ss&mntrId=6e7008aa00000000000090a4dea255ab""http://search.babylon.com/?affID=1114
  25. Earlier today I did a stupid, and got myself some weird malware that is hijacking my search bar. It calls itself "chromesearch.today" and has made itself my default search engine, and somehow managed to make it unselectable in the chrome settings menu (making it undeletable according to all the basic guides i could find) and also changed my options for all other search engines to only be "edit" or "remove from list", so i can't just make a different one my default. The way it works is that when I type something into my search bar it first opens up a url for about two seconds that looks l
