  1. Hi Everyone, An online steam game I play called "Conan Exiles" has been blocked by malwarebytes from making an outbound connection to a different IP address from the game server I connect to. I am however able to connect to the online server and play the game all OK. I am running both Malwarebytes and McAfee Total Protection together. I ran a full Malwarebytes scan yesterday on both hard drives with scan for rootkits enabled = nothing found. Malwarebytes Version: 4.1.2.73 Update package version: 1.0.26759 Component package version: 1.0.979 Last updated: 13/07/2020 09:36 Malwarebytes has updated since then but the above is the versions it reported just before I scanned yesterday. The server I connect to, to play the game is 176.57.178.33:28000 Below are the 3 reports of outbound blocked. *****************************************REPORT 1*********************************************** Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 27/06/2020 Protection Event Time: 17:53 Log File: befddd34-b896-11ea-aea0-10bf48e37924.json -Software Information- Version: 4.1.0.56 Components Version: 1.0.955 Update Package Version: 1.0.26081 Licence: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 18362.900) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , D:\Games\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe, Blocked, -1, -1, 0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Trojan Domain: IP Address: 185.137.233.239 Port: 8889 Type: Outbound File: D:\Games\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe (end) *****************************************REPORT 1 END****************************************** *****************************************REPORT 2*********************************************** Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 01/07/2020 Protection Event Time: 20:04 Log File: a7a90520-bbcd-11ea-a8f7-10bf48e37924.json -Software Information- Version: 4.1.2.73 Components Version: 1.0.972 Update Package Version: 1.0.26253 Licence: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 18362.900) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , D:\Games\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe, Blocked, -1, -1, 0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Trojan Domain: IP Address: 185.137.233.239 Port: 7778 Type: Outbound File: D:\Games\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe (end) ****************************************REPORT 2 END******************************************* *****************************************REPORT 3*********************************************** Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 14/07/2020 Protection Event Time: 16:00 Log File: be1120bc-c5e2-11ea-a173-10bf48e37924.json -Software Information- Version: 4.1.2.73 Components Version: 1.0.979 Update Package Version: 1.0.26817 Licence: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 18362.900) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe, Blocked, -1, -1, 0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Trojan Domain: IP Address: 185.137.233.239 Port: 8889 Type: Outbound File: D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox.exe (end) ***************************************REPORT 3 END******************************************** NOTE: I played the game yesterday too but there is no report for an outbound connection being blocked yesterday. I have no idea what IP address 185.137.233.239 is or why the game would be trying to connect there. I have this evening performed a scan with both Malwarebytes(rootkit scan not enabled) and McAfee on just the following location D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ and neither detected anything. I'll run a full scan with McAfee overnight. Is my PC likely infected? Please can anyone advise what other steps I can take and if I should be worried about this? Thanks.
  2. After launching game it crashed, after I tried to delete the folder it was open in another application. Using Process Explorer I found that it opened a schtask.exe. I looked in Task Scheduler and found a GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUAC that hasn't run yet, but it was linked to a file in Roaming/d_temp/sevices.exe with the game's logo. The game was scanned by ESET nod32 before I ran it. Malwarebytes free didn't detect anything neither did the Rootkit protection or the windows security.
  3. After uninstalling a game I attempted to manually delete the leftover files. Deleting the main folder deleted some files & folders inside, but the main folder stayed, as well as some sub-folders & files. And something bizarre happened (or is this normal?) - after attempting to manually delete some of the files (perma [shift+del]) they seemed to be deleted, but after going a directory up and then returning to the one were the file was [attempted] deleted it somehow reappeared. I know that files can refuse to be deleted because they are "in use", but this I'm seeing for the first time. If it matters, the game is Black Desert Online (it was free for a limited time, so I decided to try it). After installing it for the first time, it launched fine and I looked around for a bit. Then, a few hours later, after attempting to launch the game, I would get an error message, stating that "suspicious program [was] detected". After searching online for what might be causing this error, most common answer I found was that it was caused by anti-virus, anti-malware or similar software. The solution was disabling it. Obviously I'm not disabling anything. So I tried verifying game files. Got a prompt that 3 files have to be reacquired. But the process seemed to be stuck in an infinite loop. Then I tried uninstalling and installing again. However, after download reached 100% of the download amount it paused itself and clicking "resume" wouldn't do anything - it would just pause again. After that I attempted manually deleting the game folder and files (uninstalled before that and close Steam client).
  4. I downloaded Malwarebytes Security a couple of days ago from the Playstore, it didn't say it was a 30-day trial, it said "in app purchases". The scan showed 98 programs having network access 36 programs can track location 15 programs can be device admins 30 programs can cost you money 38 programs can control your hardware I don't think I have to go any further. It took me forever to get to the malware.com website. The entire website looked ridiculous, the forum entries had mostly zeros, there were zero's at places where there should be numbers. Any suggestions? I also did not get a license key, I have a field to activate my trial in 28 days, where do I find my key? Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen
  5. Details: I was playing Metal Gear Rising normally, and attempted to play a "VR Mission." (Note that the VR missions in the game are not Virtual reality, but merely the game's term for a practice mode.) The game then suddenly closed, and Malwarebytes informed me it had successfully blocked a threat. I cannot attach the executable file as I cannot read, write, or do anything to it. I have zero permissions of the executable now, I cannot even take ownership of it. MBAMSERVICE attached. -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 2/1/19 Protection Event Time: 5:54 PM Log File: 271e5eb2-25ee-11e9-ab32-902b345f034c.json -Software Information- Version: 3.6.1.2711 Components Version: 1.0.508 Update Package Version: 1.0.9066 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 17763.253) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Ransomware Details- File: 1 Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic, D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE\METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE.exe, Blocked, [0], [392685],0.0.0 (end) MBAMSERVICE.zip
  6. I'm unable to connect too the server of this STEAM game due to this program. When I turn off "Web Protection", it's able to connect. (Example in the picture.) Even when I exclude both the program and the IP address of the game, it still doesn't "Exclude."
  7. MBAM detects The Long Dark's executable with the latest update and quarantines it. The Long Dark was just updated today, 06/14/2018. Hybrid Analysis TLD_False_Pos.zip
  8. I recently upgraded from 3.3 to 3.4 and have noticed lag in Borderlands 2 when the game autosaves at a checkpoint. I did not have this issue with the 3.3 version and it only appeared post upgrade to 3.4. It makes the game literally unplayable. I have found other people who recently, as in the last two weeks who are having the same issue. https://steamcommunity.com/app/49520/discussions/0/1698293703772876529/ They also report the issue post 3.4 update considering the timing of the posts being March of this year. They solved it by disabling Malwarebytes Real Time protections. I can confirm that Malwarebytes is indeed the issue and when these protections are disabled the lag disappears. Please fix this, as I don't want to disable my protection just to play a video game.
  9. More specifically it pops up as pup.optional.mediadashboard. Has this happened to anyone who has run this game or any other Clickteam games? Because I have never had this happen before. noitu love 2 as a PUP apparently.txt
  10. I installed Malwarebytes to scan for potential viruses on my PC. Following that scan I had no issues shown on my system. However, I was placed on the Premium trial during which MAlwarebytes was using its active protection to detect and block access to "malicious sites". However, this blocked me from using many trusted services, including application like Teamspeak and Discord as well as seeming to block any and all use of game servers. I attempted to use the exclusion function to restore my access however that has yet to work. I also attempted to uninstall Malwarebytes, however the issue persisted. Since leaving the premium trial, I no longer get notifications that sites or ips have been blocked. However I was never given the specific IP or files that were deemed malicious. At this point, all I know is that my computer is still connected to the internet, I can still access normal websites, but most if not all of gaming related online functions are blocked off from my use. Games on Steam as well as Battlenet and Origin are being blocked. mb-check-results.zip

  14. So I've been testing all of the DigiPen games, mainly out of boredom, and some are pretty fun but I got to BiFrost which when I downloaded MalwareBytes instantly deleted saying that it contained the BiFrost trojan. I doubt it has a trojan as it is from DigiPen but I thought I'd check here anyway. Game link is http://games.digipen.edu/games/bifrost If someone could check whether it actually has a virus, that would be great. Thanks.
  15. Hi, This is the log from malwarebytes2014/03/01 00:10:38 -0800 TIMS PC User IP-BLOCK 74.91.124.219 (Type: outgoing, Port: 54932, Process: rust.exe) Rust is a game offered on Steam, I receive these messages every time I start the game. I'd like to know whats up. Thanks for your time
  16. I was directed to this forum to seek help. I got hacked on an online game(Mabinogi) and I'm not sure how. I can eliminate the possibility of someone knowing my password because I did not share it with anyone. You log into the game with ID and password, then a secondary password that you push in through clicking a virtual keyboard. I'm guessing I was hacked through something in my computer. I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and saved the log. Do I PM it to one of you guys?
  17. Hello, MBAM Forum. I play Mount and Blade: Warband, and its expansion, Napoleonic Wars quite a bit on Steam. Starting a few weeks ago (3-5), I began getting IP Blocks from my copy of MBAM Pro. Each time, its the same address from the same location. Using a IP lookup (whatismyipaddress), I've discovered that its in the geographic center of Ukraine. I was wondering, What does it mean? I've been running scans each day with all programs that I have (MBAM Pro, Avast! Free antivirus, and Norton 360), and none come up with anything wrong except Norton and random Tracking Cookies with what is usually does. I've posted on the makers of the game's forum for support, but to no avail. Mind helping me out on this one?
