  1. Hello, This is my first time coming here and it seemed to be helpful but I can't find what I need about my exact situation. I've checked out another forum (https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/226720-gexe-removal/) about this topic and it seems to have helped so far but I'm noticing the difference that this is an actual trojan (spyware or malware I'm not too advanced to know which one). Main issue is my main anti-virus program, I use McAfee, can't detect it and for some reason my windows 10 defender won't allow me to start a scan from it. (I presume it's because McAfee is seen as the default and overrides it) What has me concerned is where it's detected in my computer. To someone as inexperienced as I am these locations (my clouds, sound profiles, and keyboard) make it seem like someone has been using it as a way to log my actions and snoop around my files. Another thing I would like to address is that I've been getting security breach notifications from my gmail about others trying to access it from third-party or non-google apps (primarily from the oriental and Asian regions). Along with my minecraft account getting hacked during this same time period. I have no way of actually telling what else one or many people have access to and I find it difficult to change my passwords if there's a chance of me being keylogged. (I have changed some of my passwords and activated 2-factor on some stuff, but I still get security notifications.) I'd really appreciate the help.

  3. I am having an issue where g.exe is sporadically preventing my PC from restarting. Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Premium return clean scans. How do I solve this?
  4. Hello, For past 1 month i am getting G.exe / UnKnown Application preventing shutdown message in both my standard and admin user login accounts in Win 10 PC. I have licensed version of malwarebytes (Premium and AdwCleaner) and they all run clean without any issue. Norton doesn't return any issue. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/226720-gexe-removal/?page=3 Following from the above thread, i have been able to use GUIPropView and able to see a lone "g" . What is annoying is i used all my past skills using dos, procmon and Process Explorer(sysinternal) to find this PID/Handle but they all return empty. I can't figure out from where this nasty thing is originating from since Process and Instance FileName are reported empty from GUIPropView. Please help in fixing the UnKnown application preventing shutdown issue in my PC(Last option if any before factory resetting my PC) Thanks, Appukuttan
  5. Hi Everyone, When I shut off my computer, I'll often get a message saying "G.exe is preventing your computer from shutting down". I searched the net and found out that it was considered a trojan. In trying to remove it, I've followed the instructions from this forum thread that's now closed. I've posted the relevant logs below. I'd appreciate it if anyone could offer some guidance on this. I've run full McAfee, Malwarebytes, and Super-Antispyware scans and they've come up empty. I also noticed an unfamiliar "rerun (32-bit)" process running in my task manager and it takes up about 20% of the CPU usage. Not sure if it's related, but I figured I'd add it in. Thanks everyone for any help. Big Sky Tech AdwCleaner[C01].txt malwarebytes-report.txt Addition.txt
