  1. I did a normal scan and detected nothing. I was doing a full system scan and I've waited about 3 hours for the scan to end and even then it was still going. It detected normal PUPs but also found a python trojan. I was wondering if Malwarebytes itself could get infected and maybe could have been instead manipulated and changed to leak all scanned files to a remote hacker? The extremely long 3 hour scan that was stuck on "scanning system files" is what worries me.

Yesterday I was supporting a user and when checking the Malwarebytes Management Console around 3:00 PM I found where the console in System Logs displayed the below: 103-PCNAME < None > D8-CB-8A-22-AA-D6 domain.com 3/22/2017 9:15:45 PM Anti-Malware Full scan result: No threat 203-PCNAME AD61306 D8-CB-8A-22-AA-D6 domain.com 3/22/2017 9:15:45 PM Anti-Malware Full scan result: No threat Notice the Time column shows 9:15 PM. I sent a command to do a full scan and while that completed without issue this morning I am back in the console with no new information. The client is now off-line. I will be calling the client later this morning to investigate further but I'm curious as to why the incorrect time showing up in System Logs. Where would that originate? Previous log entries appear to be correct.
  3. I started up my Machine and noticed it was extremely slow, I went to do a full system scan and was surprised to see that it only lasted for one second. I've got no idea how to solve this, please help! [Windows 10 64bit]
  4. I upgraded to Premium. Then auto-upgraded to 3.0. Now an entire hard drive of scans takes ~3 minutes. Yay! It takes place DURING MY SYSTEM STARTUP OR WAKEUP FROM SLEEP! So for 3 minutes, I can barely use my laptop. I have a couple of large email archives, and it just chokes to a stop. How can I STOP THE FULL HARD DRIVE SCAN at startup? I would love to be reminded to let it run, after I have checked emails, etc. As it is, every day as I re-wake my laptop, I am stalled for up to 3 minutes. I am now regretting this upgrade. I cannot control my protection levels. Please let ME decide when to do a full HD scan. Scan memory, yes, but not 359,000 FILES!!!!!
  5. Hello, I've recently downloaded and installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and I have attempted to scan my PC 5 times. 4 of these times it was a full scan, and once I tried scanning just one drive. Every time, it crashes at around the 2 hour mark, during the heuristic scan after reaching approximately 40,000 hits. Previous Googling suggested I try running a boot time scan with avast! antivirus, as well as running CHKDSK on my three HDDs which I have done, no issues or errors were found. It was also suggested I "repair my computer" using the Windows setup tool, however once I hit the option to select a language, both my mouse and keyboard deactivate so I cannot proceed. One of the full scans I also ran with my computer in safe mode with no networking capabilities or anything. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer, I'm happy to provide any additional information. Please note that MBAM has never run a successful scan on my PC. Thanks.
  6. So, when I installed the free version of MBAM for the first time, it took like twenty minutes to do a full scan always, but since some time ago it takes around seventeen minutes or less. I don't know if the time it takes affects anything, but after I reinstalled it (I admit I didn't do a clean installation, I didn't disable the antivirus/firewall and all that) the first scan I did took twenty minutes once again, then the second took around seventeen minutes again and so on. I compared the number of items it scans and it's the same more or less on both times. Does the time it takes matter, or it doesn't affect the scan in anything? If you need more information or something specific to solve this, if it needs to get solved, tell me and I'll try to reply the fastest I can with the thing that is needed. Also, sorry if I wrote something wrong, English is not my principal lenguage, and thanks in advanced.
  7. Hi MBAM Community / Staff. I would like to make a suggestion to MBAM Premium 2.0. First off: If this has already been suggested and answered, I'm sorry for reposting. But when searching for topics, I couldn't find anything related. Since MBAM 2.0 was released, I liked almost all the changes, and the interface is ok, i guess. But what bothers me, is that there doesn't seem to be a full scan option anymore, and going via the custom scan isn't handy. The Threat Scan just goes through C:, but not through other partitons, so I want to suggest to reimplement the full scan option into MBAM 2.0. I know that this is not a big deal, since its not much work selecting all drives in a custom scan, but i.m.o it would still be nice to have a "Full Scan" button in the scan-tab, or to schedule a full scan.   9. Whenever I plan to start a full scan on my laptop I always perform an update. Now today I did my usual routine and during the full scan as I was on chrome the Malwarebytes scan popped up in front of my chrome window. This didn't happen a couple of days ago when I did a full scan either and I couldn't switch the focus to Chrome again, it just stayed in the front of the desktop. I stopped the scan and restarted it and once again the same thing happened, so I don't know if the update messed up the focus or if it's a virus.. I checked to see if I'm able to access my task manager( which I'm able to) and if I can minimize the scan(which I'm also able to). I'm hoping this is just an update glitch because it's never happened to me before and not a virus. Anyone else having this issue or and advice on what I should do to fix it, please and thank you. By they way I haven't had any objects detected during these scans.
  10. My computer is not able to run a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware because the computer will shut down when I try to run it. I tried to look up the issue and found a similar thread in the forums. That thread had a suggestion to run ComboFix to find the problem.   11. I have a scheduled daily full scan and, within the last two days, came home to find that my pc has rebooted. Nothing appears in the log and MSE doesn't reflect anything either. Windows displays a message: "Your PC has recovered from a serious error" A Quick Scan runs fine and when rebooting in Safe Mode, a full MWB scan runs fine - with no issues found.   12. Is it just me or what. But I just cant workout when I can practically do a full scan. I dont know to be honest what the time for a full scan in hours would be as I always have to abort it. the last one had reached 5 hours plus but already we are into the third day since I started the scan; I mean I have to pause it because I need to work as well and it is to impacting on system performance for soething that is going to be running for hours. Granted the pause offers some respite and granted the quick scan seems to have dealt with my latest nasty: Trojan-ransome. But have I missed something? Is there someway to run a full scan with it automatically running as a background process, allowing CPU priority to go elsewhere by default and restricting memmory use? To be honest which or if both of those resources are being laboured I havn't checked. I dont care either I just want to be able to work. As things stand it just doesnt seem feasible to do a full scan.
  13. Hi, I've been using MB for a while now (Pro version). What I want to do is Schedule drive C: on Monday; D: on Tuesday; E: on Wednesday etc. I have 5 drives which would take an age to scan - if I did it as a single pass. I know that you can set up multiple drives in the full scan selection but this is a one off selection. I have tried searching through the forums and I've looked in the MB help and spent some time wandering around the app trying to find how I can schedule a specific drive (or drives) for a scan on a particular day. If I schedule a full scan for Monday it will scan whatever has been set up under the 'Scanner Tab' , it does not allow me to choose a different selection of drive(s) for that particular scan. Am I missing something?
