  1. A month ago I connected a flash drive to my laptop to transfer files from it to another PC. The flash drive showed duplicate files which I tried deleting to no avail. Apparently it was malware or virus which then infected my laptop. In a short space of time my applications and programs stopped launching and the pop up message eg "C:\Program Files (86)\GlassWire\GlassWire.exe is not a valid Win32 application" would pop up. I then checked the files and found every exe file was now 0kb. Office programs open briefly then a pop up message "Microsoft Office has encountered a problem with licens
  2. I recently used my friends flash in my laptop, after that I found some malware named exactly like my files so I tried to delete them but they came back again. after sometime it started infecting my other files my applications don't run their size turned into 0 KB. I tried to scan with avast, AVG and Malwarebytes but NO THREATS FOUND. I tried with windows defender the threats are found and I THINK deleted but my files size are still 0kb plz...... help......me....!!!!! sorry about my bad English....
  3. One of my 32GB flash drives became infected. I suspect it was from a site I'm not accustomed to downloading from. Anyway, I saw chinese symbols in folders that weren't there before. The infection corrupted all but 3 folders. I believe there were 6-7 folders to begin with. I immediately opened Malwarebytes and did a full scan of the flash drive. It found 9 items, removed them and I had to restart my laptop. Some of the characters were still visible after the restart so I was remained concerned. I removed the flash drive then re-inserted it. My laptop had a bit of difficulty accessing it so
  4. Dear everybody, Ouch-- I seem to have an infection that has slipped in. Right now I'm in rural Brazil, a place with a ton of viruses everywhere, and I'm teaching computer classes to kids in the countryside. Unfortunately, I think I have found a virus that I can't fix. It's a USB-carried virus that comes in on flash drives, and that hides the real files while turning everything into an apparent shortcut-- just like lots of autorun viruses that I've seen here. However, this one is not detected by the most recently-updated versions of either Malwarebytes or AVG. My other at
  5. Using a friend's Acer Aspire 5733z manufactured 2.2012. Inexplicably they chose to not run an antivirus despite my protests. They had Norton & McAfee whose trials ran-out, needless to say they are great folks but interweb safe on an up to 45 MBPs DL speed FIOS line (verified via Speedtest.net) they surely are not. Had recommended free Avast! to no avail. Think they've picked up a fake Oracle exploit w/frequent pop-ups. On a P6200 2.13Ghz 64 bit OS There's 90% free space, only 4% fragmented files, 4 GB's memory, MS auto updates on WIN7 w Home Premium w/SP1. From a 2GB flash drive I serendi
