  1. I messed up some permissions on some files and folders, so i downloaded file assassin ( i used it before for some issues ) , fileassassin could not delete the files. I fixed the problem by downloading "NTFS Access" ( http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/ntfsaccess ) and that fixed the permissions of the folders, granted me full access to the folders/files, and then i could delete the programs manually. So i have a few suggestion for FileAssassin: - Deleting folders also - Using the things that NTFSAccess does to grant permissions to the folders/files recursively, and that makes me the full owner of the files, and that will allow the program to delete the files.
  2. I cannot delete an asf file. I've tried the following: - Right click and delete makes the recycling window hang - Cut and paste makes the pasting process hang - Changing the file extension just makes it hang - Command Prompt comes up with "invalid switch - test.asf" - Disabling thumbnails does not make deleting work - I cannot find the file in the Task Manager - FileAssassin can unlock, unload, and terminate the file, but not delete it - Turning the computer on and off does not change anything What am I doing wrong with FileAssassin?
  3. Tried dragging a file from my desktop into FileASSASSIN and got this message: "The file you have specified does not exist or is not visible to FileASSASSIN. Please select another file" The file name has no extension. The file name ends in an underscore. I've tried regular delete, but it can't be deleted, renamed, or moved. I've tried rebooting the computer. I've tried deleting from the command prompt. I've tried CHECKDISK. The file shows as being empty. It is a file and not a folder - (at command prompt, it doesn't indicate that it's a directory/folder. This happened when I was downloading a video. Download status showed as being complete, but there were two files on my desktop that looked like this. I highlighted both and hit delete. Only one could be deleted, not the other. I unfortunately emptied the recycle bin, so the other file is gone. I tried redownloading the video and the exact same thing happened. One deletes, the other doesn't. When trying regular delete, the error that comes up is: "Cannot delete file. Cannot read from the source file or disk." I'm on Windows XP. Any suggestions?
  4. Hi there, I'm new in this forum, so please forgive me if I do something incorrectly. Anyways, I've been having this problem for quite a while now. I've got some corrupted files that I wish to remove so I happened to install FileASSASSIN. The problem for me is I couldn't even choose a file to delete. Every time I try to select a corrupted file, I get this error: "(filename) is not accessible. File or directory is corrupted and unreadable". I'm truly lost and out of ideas on how to handle this problem. I'm not sure if anyone else had experienced this problem but I really hope it can be solved. Thank you. ~Ku
