  1. Hello, i have a laptop that Malwarebytes is constantly blocking malicious websites on. I have Mcfee Security scan plus and Total protection but nothing is found. 2. Looks like a Poweliks issue... My system is running very slow and seems the memory is taken up with multiple dllhost.exe *32 COM Surrogate running. Malwarebytes identifies outbound traffic to fff5ee.com and other IP addresses when a browser is not even open. Norton 360 warns of Trojan.poweliks and Trojan.adclicker. Once the dllhost.exe process does show up in the task manager MalwareBytes constantly pops up blocking websites of various IPs that are all trying to be accessed by C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe. 3. Need some help getting rid of these... Ran Malwarebytes and then bought upgrade to premium. Found mx infections but can't kill the fff5ee virus. Malwarebytes still gives notice every min or so of blocked fff5ee. Norton is also giving occassional blocks for Poweliks. Have run all the Norton complete virus scans and NPE...no joy. Will be happy to donate to the cause for a little help.... Thanks, Dexter
  4. Please help. I have read these help topics up and down. I have tried most of the steps, but am not making any headway. Malwarebytes and my virus protection are blocking attacks non-stop. Computer is non-stop running. bogged down. I cannot download anything as I am not told I don't have the permissions to do so. Running Malwarebytes does not get rid of the problem. I like to think I'm pretty resourceful, but this one is beyond me. Please help. Chris
  5. Hi, I've recently been getting huge cpu usage spikes, multiple dllhost.exe processes appearing and have detected constant Malicious Website Blocked messages popping up every few seconds. These messages range from appsrumors.com, xmlka.com and fff5ee.com domains that I've seen others posting about recently. I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, detected & removed the threats successfully however, the issues came back. Attached are the logs from my latest Malwarebytes and FRST scans. Thank you for any help you can provide in advance. mbam-log-2014-10-31.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt

  7. Alright, so I just joined and I was having some trouble because I couldn't figure out how to post on the forums, (haha,) but... i read a few of the help guides for removal of poweliks/fff5ee.com, (opens several COM surrogates and jams up the cpu,) and i didn't want to use the fixlogs posted because I wasn't sure if they were system specific or not. I ran combofix already and that didn't seem to help, even though it identified some files. I ran Malwarebytes yesterday and it also i.d. several questionable files as well but now MB wont open to allow me to run another scan even though manager says
  8. I am getting msgs in lower right corner that malicious website blocked. fff5ee.com, searchnet.blinkxcore.com and hyip-master.com are some of the domains listed. Need help removing the attack. I've seen some resolved post and am unsure if I need to use their process or need to connect with a community member to resolve my issue. Seems to use process Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.com
  9. Computer been acting funny for several weeks. Checked some forums and ran some scans. Malwarebytes continues to block several ip addresses every two seconds (no joke) and I can't get rid of fff5ee.com popup. The ip's are (every two seconds it gets blocked),, one or two others. Here's the logs I have so far. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  10. Like many others, I'm having the corrupt dllhost.exe * 32 multiple processes issues causing slowdown and trying to connect to fff5ee.com and some other miscellaneous, malicious IP, on a computer I'm needing to fix for someone. Any help would be appreciated, or if it doesn't need to be a custom fix, pointing me to the right pre-existing thread would work too! It also begs the question, would simply replacing dllhost.exe with a fresh version fix it? I've already ran a full scan. As of last night, nothing erroneous turns up in the results.

  12. Hello, I just noticed last night that my computer was sluggish and found multiple huge dllhost.exe processes. I first thought it was a windows glitch but I noticed it was sending info out via procmon. mbam blocks sends to fff5ee.com, search.blinkxcore.com and the ip address Don't know how I got this, but when you can, I'll be grateful if you could help me get it out, and round up a bunch of pitchforks and torches and some mobs for the bad people who made this! mbam shows no threats after repeated scans. Thank you
  13. Ok, so. My computer started slowing down and I checked and saw multiple instances of dllhost.exe bogging down my CPU usage, taking almost 100%. I ran all my anti-malware programs and removed multiple Trojans and Worms. I ran combofix (don't worry, I know what I'm doing) but it didn't seem to solve the issue. I ran FRST and have all the logs. I am attaching them below. Please help ASAP! FRST.txt Addition.txt

  16. I'm having a similar issue to what others are posting today. My Norton evidently expired today and I got this minutes before I renewed. I've tried to download the FRST.exe (which I had to do from another computer because downloading is blocked). Once I got it on the computer and run it it won't run and deletes the file (even if I renamed it). It says I don't have permissions to run it (same message I get when trying to download files). I've renewed Norton and am running a full scan now (and just finished saying no threats were found). Malwarebytes is flashing the following sites/addresse
  17. Like some others I have been reading, I have a problem with constant Malicious Website blocking of fff5ee.com and a couple of other IPs. These constantly eat resources and are very annoying. I think it started with an update to Java yesterday (10/18). I have downloaded and ran FRST (logs below). In order to be able to do that I did a system restore to before the Java update. For some reason I can not copy & paste the logs, so I have attached them. Addition.txt FRST.txt
  18. Hello. I used a "search all Craigslist" website last night and as soon as I did notifiers from Malwarebytes kept popping up that "Malicious Website Blocked". Only one of the notifiers gives the Domain: fff5ee.com, IP: The other notifiers have no domain listed, but IP: or The Port number is constatly increasing (started in the 50000 range and now is in the 60000 range). The Process is always the same: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe. Once this started, I shut down everything I was working on and ran CCleaner Free thinking it was just some temp file I
