  1. I have this problem, where my c: drive always gets filled-up, and when I transfer files, I see a bunch of files with these names: e0223fsd.au or something. These files are hidden on my pc, and just some time ago, it had 0 bytes although I cleared-up space before that! Yes, I use an anti-virus. I have windows 10 home 64-bit. Please, I need help. Resetting my pc Is just pain. Thanks.
  2. Hello everyone. First Post here for me. Not going to hound or whine for a fix, just looking for a way to deal with this drag on my PC's performance issue. So some details that others might provide are missing here. I've read a lot of posts on this issue, and it seems to be at least a year since a MB Representative said on this Forum that a fix was "in the works". Obviously MB is not interested in fixing this issue or they CAN'T fix it. Either way, if I can't find a workaround to at least deal with it, it will be time for me to find another scanner. I used to leave my PC turned on 24/7 & just locked the screen when finished for the day. Things like system wide malware scans were never a problem as I just scheduled them when I knew I would be away, usually late at night. I no longer leave the PC on. Problem now is that as soon as I turn it on for the day, Malware Bytes (among others) jump immediately into action and gobble up huge portions of my PC’s resources, causing very noticeable and bothersome lags in performance for the things I want to use the PC for. This in spite of a 4.0 GHz, 6-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM and a SSD System drive. A task as simple as just loading a program can take as long as 2-3 minutes where it normally takes only 7-10 SECONDS! My question is this: Is there a FIX for this? If not, is there a way to setup MB to either limit its use of resources (preferred) OR, if that is not possible, set MB to turn off the PC after I *MANUALLY* initiate a scan? Appreciate whatever help anyone can provide, -Gary MB Premium Version: 3.3.1.2183 Component package version: 1.0.262 Update package version: 1.0.4306 Now it
  3. I have noticed that when running a scan, only my C drive is being searched. Since I have numerous drives on my PC, how can I specify additional drives to be scanned? Thank you.
  4. Hello! I am a real novice when it comes to dealing with Malware but I think I may have an infection. My disk usage often runs up to 100% leaving me unable to run programs or do anything. The exact symptoms differ with every boot. Sometimes my desktop loads without a background picture. I tried to run Malwarebytes to scan my pc but it will not open beyond asking if I want to run it in a UAC window. I tried to run Chameleon but it terminates after a brief scan. I can't seem to copy a log from it either but ive seen the same error report on other forums. Is there any advice anyone can offer? Am I being thick or do I have some nasty virus blocking Malwarebytes from running? P.s. I have disabled Windows Search & Superfetch and that appears to have freed up some disk usage but Malwarebytes still won't run even in chameleon.
  5. After multiple attempts at cleaning a viscious infection I ended up completely wiping 2 PC's and getting a new router. I am now just starting to get my laptop back, up to date & online. I see no problems yet, but I am very reluctant to open a web browser just yet. I paid and registered MBAM Premium & Anti-Exploit Premium and opted to receive the disk as wwell, but during my previous nightmare I was trying to run MBAM from the disk and was unable to (I was able to just fine prior to becoming infected). Now that I'm up and running again I would like to intall MBAM from the disk, but before I do I wanted to know if a disk could be infected? Or am I in the clear and paranoid? THANK YOU!
  6. I bought and installed malwarebytes pro today. Some alarm clock went off in my head when I heard my computer working like a crazy nut, even when I was not working on it and I did not run a scan. So I checked the performance and guess what? Malwarebytes thinks it has to work overtime..... CPU usage of 40% and up to 60% from malwarebytes, remember no scan started. Memory usage out of control, occupied from malwarebytes. Disk traffic out of control too. Remember I have no program running, I'm just watching my resource monitor..... How come malwarebyte acts like that? Is there a way that I can keep the program under control? Could I get a refund? It just slows my system down to a snail..... Thanks. Glesu
