  1. Hi guys. I read through the recent topic and search option and haven't found a similar issue so allow me to create my own topic. First of all, I have a new laptop ASUS X441S (Intel 4core 3710 1.6ghz, Win10). It came with a preinstalled McAfee Antivirus premium. I scanned my old external hard drive and found 4 infections. I quarantined it then suddenly all hell broke loose. I started to notice that McAfee cannot run a scan anymore and it cannot turn real-time protection on anymore. I also noticed 2 desktop.ini files that suddenly appeared on my desktop and in all folders. I downloaded Malwarebytes, which was able to scan my pc but showed no infections; however, malwarebytes cannot turn real-time protection on as well. I think I'm infected with a malware that turns off my antivirus sofwares and spreads this desktop.ini file on my system. Please help me.
  2. Hello and PLEASE HELP!!! I've been trying to rid my machine of a virus or viruses for about 3 months now to no avail. I'm somewhat literate in term of hardware (I've been building my own for about 18 years), but am having fits and am at wits end with this latest issue. I've ran every scanner I can find both DL and online and nothing seems to help. Lately, I've been taken offline a few times and had to reset my network. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
  3. Hi, I successfully downloaded Malwarebytes via Chameleon because I had the 4dsply virus. Plus, before shutting down my laptop would display a webpage to something called sportolife and other pages. I ran Malwarebytes several times, and it found multiple threats. When I downloaded MB there were two files on my desktop, the MB zip and a file called desktop.ini. My question is: Now that MB is installed and ran can I delete the desktop.ini file from the desktop? When I right click it says (paraphrased) "if deleted associated program may not run".
