  1. When reviewing the results of the scan I click "Quarantine". Then I have a choice of Cancel, Always Ignore, or Ignore Once. Are the items quarantined ? I am unable to determine this from the interface even though in the options or settings the slider says "Always Quarantine". How do I delete the Quarantined items? The interface needs some work to eliminate confusion. Not sure I like this new layout. When I close the scan results the message says the items will stay on my computer. Huh ??? Very confusing.
  2. when i re-install Malwarebytes (with premium trial ) it turn into the free version and then deletes itself please help !
  3. I am running Malwarebytes Premium version 3.7.1. On a Windows 10 Pro desktop machine. Windows update says Windows is up to date.I have a small SSD drive that includes my operating system and my Malwarebytes Premium program folder. There are many ".tmp" in the C:\Program File\Malewarebytes\Anti-Malware folder adding up to more than 15 MB. I am unable to delete any of these files even though none of these files have been accessed since May 2017 according to Windows File Explorer. When I try to delete any of them I get a message that I need administrator permission to delete the files. I am logged on as an administrator yet every time I try to delete any of them I get the same message denying me permission to delete these tmp file from 2017.
  4. I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop. It recently started behaving strangely by attempting to delete every file I click on. The "Are you sure you want to move this file to Recycle Bin" pop up appears. When I attempt to close it,multiple pop ups appear with each attempt to close. It's to such an extent that you can't do anything practical on the machine for about 10 minutes as you try to close literally hundreds of Recycle Bin pop dialog boxes. Any help with this is greatly appreciated as I'm stuck right now
  5. Can I delete ALL of the registers, programs, keys that the ADW cleaner found in the Scan process. Good afternoon! Tell me, can I delete ALL of the registers, programs, keys that the ADW cleaner found in the Scan process. Those. Will this harm my PERSONAL data on my computer? Will there be any addblock ad extensions in the browser? I attach the LOG of the scan result to the ADW cleaner. Thank you, I await your reply. Sincerely, New User.
  6. Hi, my client just gave me his laptop for basic repair. There is one issue though, when I want to remove the TEST account created there, it will, but after restart it's back. Same thing is, when I delete password for certain user, it will be deleted as long as I don't restart the computer. I tried clean boot + all the things listed here: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/181036-user-account-delete.html + sfc /scannow + all MB products I don't have a clue what's going on and where are these users stored. I don't wanna reinstall that much. I alsto noticed, that when I set, after deleting that account, to restart computer into safe mode, the account stays deleted until next restart without it. Weirdest issue of all times, but something is pretty broken. Roman
  7. Hey there everybody. I apologize if this has already been answered, but I wanted to get your advice on something as I have more than one question. My computer has been popping up with the black screen displaying "taskeng.exe" very quickly, and then it goes away. It usually only does this a bit after starting up and sometimes after opening Chrome. I looked this up and some people say it's fine, others say it could be a sign of a virus/spyware. I did open up task scheduler, go to the task scheduler library, and disabled a task called "User_Feed_Synchronization" after being advised to do so on a Microsoft forum regarding taskeng.exe issues. But apparently that didn't help, because I saw it again? Today I ran a scan with Malwarebytes and 6 threats were detected. I quarantined them, but have not deleted them yet. Should I? Do you think that would help my taskeng.exe problem? Problem is, after I did this scan, the taskeng.exe popup still came after the scan's restart. I will post my results here. Do you think the taskeng.exe is a virus, or don't worry about it? To anyone who replies, thank you so much!!! -Scan Summary- Scan Type: Custom Scan Result: Completed Objects Scanned: 227556 Threats Detected: 6 Threats Quarantined: 6 Time Elapsed: 12 hr, 5 min, 0 sec -Scan Options- Memory: Enabled Startup: Enabled Filesystem: Enabled Archives: Enabled Rootkits: Enabled Heuristics: Enabled PUP: Detect PUM: Detect -Scan Details- Process: 0 (No malicious items detected) Module: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Key: 3 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2FA28606-DE77-4029-AF96-B231E3B8F827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2FA28606-DE77-4029-AF96-B231E3B8F827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKU\S-1-5-21-470504079-2056641531-4023931026-1000\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 Registry Value: 3 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKU\S-1-5-21-470504079-2056641531-4023931026-1000\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341071],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341070],1.0.4030 PUP.Optional.ASK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\SEARCHSCOPES\{2fa28606-de77-4029-af96-b231e3b8f827}|URL, Quarantined, [478], [341070],1.0.4030 Registry Data: 0 (No malicious items detected) Data Stream: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folder: 0 (No malicious items detected) File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Physical Sector: 0 (No malicious items detected)
