  1. I believe I accidentally installed a trojan and ever since, my computer has been running this process and has been stuttering. I have ran Malwarebytes but it oculd not find anything.
  2. the problem began 2-3 days ago, I believe a Malware came with a game that I downloaded from a Non-Official Site, it has been using up my CPU and GPU crazy as listed above, I installed Malwarebytes and I even Reset my Windows But to No Avail, none of this helped. Is there anything I can do to fix this? One more thing I wish to note is that Malwarebytes recently showed up a notification Mentioning The Following:
  3. Hi, Chrome has stopped loading pages, and is causing my laptop's fans to get really loud, and is also causing my CPU usage to spike into the 80% - 90% range. All of this happened after I updated Malwarebytes and used the premium trial to run a full scan of my C: and D: drives. I'm not sure if the update or the scan or something else has caused this, but Malwarebytes has found no issues or threats on any scans, but I just can't think of what could be causing this. I've tried resetting Malwarebytes' settings, adding chrome to the exceptions, restarting my computer, doing a clean reinstall of both Malwarebytes and Chrome, and none of it has worked. I should add that other browsers like Firefox and IE are working, but I like using chrome and really hope this doesn't require a more drastic fix. Thank you in advance! 4. So the last few days the RTProtectionDaemon process has been going crazy, regularly using between 50%-100% of my cpu. I did look around online for ideas and eventually decided to uninstall MBAM completely. I also deleted the launch agents and all trace files related to the app. The RTProtectionDaemon still continues to run and is driving me crazy. (Yes I have restarted the machine). I even downloaded the official uninstall app and it didn't do anything. Can someone help here. Im running the latest Big Sur on an Imac 2019. Thanks.
  5. After years of satisfactory use of Malwarebytes (even on Win and on my phone), I've recently switched to Premium subscription. It's a top tier app and all that. But a few weeks ago my Macbook started acting strange: after 1-2 hours of normal use the CPU reach the stars, and the kernel_task process even top 500%, making the device unusable. I looked for a malware (my fist thought) but MB says system was clean and other scanners as well. So I ran EtreCheckPro that gave me interesting results. 1) Antivirus software problems - Antivirus software is causing performance problem. (The other "av" is Adguard, but stay off most of the time. Malwarebytes Real-time protection is always active.) 2) An app that continously crashing: 2019-07-24 01:12:28 SIMBL Agent.app - Crash (14 times) Executable: /Library/ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax/Contents/Resources/SIMBL Agent.app Details: dyld: launch, running initializers /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib Any help? 6. Hi, For the last few days, my laptop is using 100% of it's CPU every time i do basic stuff i used to do before (open chrome, a word or a pdf file etc.). When i open task manager, CPU is descending to normal. I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and AdwCleaner but they didn't find anything. My Farbar recovery scan log files are attached. Can you tell if something is wrong? Thanks! Addition.txt FRST.txt
  7. I own many different macs for my whole family: - Macbook pro retina 2017 mid specs - Macbook 12" (2x) top specs - Macbook 13" 2015 top specs - Mabook pro retina 2018 top specs - etc. All of them run High Sierra 10.13.6. All of them run MWB 3.3.32 On all of them, the attached is a typical representation of CPU usage i get from "RTProtectionDaemon". ?As you can see, on a 9h 12m uptime, Malware Bytes was pegging the CPU at 94%!!!!!! ? This leads to: - slow macs regardless of CPU type, memory and ssd type. - a reduction in the lifespan of my components - a pissed off customer. I'd love to send the 'report' you asked in your FAQ but I can't find the button specified to generate it - I take your forum post refer to an older version of MWB? In any case, please help, or else it's back to a different Antimalware for me. Thank you.
  8. I have a Z87-g45 gaming motherboard and I can't get it to boot to usb. My computer completely crashed after I ran hitman and malewarbytes. I ran both scans and each told me a restart was needed so I waited for both to finish since they both required a restart. Prob was not good idea since now my computer won't boot at all. Once I was prompted of a failed startup I chose to restart from last known good configuration. It just got hung on the starting Windows screen for over 3 hours. So I tried changing the bios to ufei instead of legacy+ufei and tried to see if that helped. It didn't. I've tried restoring bios to defaults to see if it helped it did not. Stuck on loading Windows screen. I took the battery out of the mother board and left it out for 5 mins and tried to start it. Same thing stuck on loading Windows. After trying to load to safe mode with network and without network and trying to load to command prompt and it all still getting stuck I decided to go purchase a new computer to try to get some recovery software to try to fix the problem. So my first choice of programs to try is Hiren. I downloaded Hiren and it was an iso file. So I formatted my usb thumbnail to Fat32 and used PowerISO to burn the Hiren ISO to the usb. (Using the create bootable usb option) after it was finished burning to the usb. I removed it from computer and put it into broken PC. Booted PC up and push F10 till I got to the bios. Changed boot priority to #1 uefi usb #2 usb. Saved changes and restarted. Went to stuck loading Windows screen. Power off, power on F10 changed bios from uefi+legacy to just uefi and booted usb first priority. Saved and rebooted. Went to stuck loading Windows screen. Figured I'd just try to see if command promp would work. Power off, power on F10 changed to default bios settings saved and restarted. Windows failed to load restart with command promp. Stuck on Windows loading screen but it finally worked and I was in command promp. Trying several commands to figure out what drive the usb was and looking on Google trying to find list of commands to use with command prompt. The computer automatically just restarted and I didn't even execute any command. Now unsure I can get to command prompt again. Tried rebooting again and again about 4 or 5 times and get stuck on Windows loading screen and no option of boot to command prompt. I can get to efi shell easily but don't think that's gonna help me with what I need. I honestly don't know what I should run off of hirens even if I do get it to run. I'll use to research Google as I go. My biggest problem is trying to get the usb to load then if someone would like to walk me to diagnose the problem id be forever grateful! Please help me. I've repaired computers that have crashed before but this is first time this computer with this motherboard has crashed and I just can't get it to do right and it's been killing many days just watching a stuck screen. Please! TY in advance!
  9. Greetings, Malwarebytes forums. For the past few weeks, my laptop has been running very slowly, with high temperature (the CPU even reaches 100C on some occasions, with the core voltage exceeding 20V per core). The fan would ran at max speed even when the whole system is in idle mode (I do open a few programs related to my work, but all of them are network-related stuffs and in idle mode). Curious, I checked the Task Manager and see one of my workplace apps consuming exactly 25% of CPU. Occasionally it would dip or raise above that level but it would revert back to utilizing 25% of the CPU (an i5-2520M@2.5). Even more curious is the fact that if I force close the application in question, the 25% CPU utilization would be transfer to another apps previously in idle mode (with 0% CPU usage), even as far as transfering that utilization to explorer.exe and jusched.exe, which is entirely unrelated and would never consumes that huge amount of computing power. Thus, I suspect that my laptop is infected with some kind of crypto miner designed to run at 25% of system resources. Even more curious still is the fact that if I turn off everything, or restarting the system, the CPU utilization would return to a normal level. So what is wrong with my system and how should I proceed to remove this threat? I'm worried that if this continues, my laptop would turn into a pile of plastic and steel garbage pretty soon. P/s: My colleague has an identical laptop with an identical set of work-related apps, and his experienced no problem so far.
  10. For some reason while malwarebytes is running, the cpu usage is constantly spiking to up to 30% while the computer is idle. I decided to record it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W94otr2F_qs Can someone please explain to me what Malwarebytes is doing in the background and why it's causing "System" to have so much cpu usage rather than the actual MB service process?
  11. hello i am working on windows 10 my CPU and memory are constantly working on 99% to 100% and they are highlighted in red when i open task manager nothing shows to have this huge impact ive tried virus scans , malware scans, and nothing seems to be working , i think it is some malicious malware please help mee i downloaded Malwarebytes anti malware and scanned my computer and it only found one threat which it eliminated but it didn t resolve my problem of very high cpu and memory now i am running another virus scan maybe it ll detect something PLEASE HELPPP i really need to fix my pc
  12. Hello, I'm on Windows 10 with Norton Security Suite and MalwareBytes 3.3.1. Windows Task Manager shows MalwareBytes consuming anywhere fromb-check-results.zipm 16 to 25% of the CPU. It has been doing this for hours. I attached the results from MbCheck which was run a few hours ago. Can you help?
  13. I'm on the 2 week premium portion of a trial download. Taking my machine out of hibernation, my PC became unusable because something was chewing up CPU cycles, at a rate of 30%. I had to fiddle around and find the resource monitor to find out what was wrong. It was MB running some mysterious process. Then I had to go into MB and turn off the "premium" features in order to restore performance. I was not running a scan (I have this on manual). It was consuming resources related to one of the Premium protections. Often when I turn on my machine, I want to do some quick little thing. I don't want to wait for a hidden process to finish. Is this CPU usage normal? Is there some way to tell MB to postpone whatever it thinks it needs to do until later? I don't think I"m going to be interested in Premium features that actually impair my PC's performance. Thanks -- Mark
  14. Hello everyone. First Post here for me. Not going to hound or whine for a fix, just looking for a way to deal with this drag on my PC's performance issue. So some details that others might provide are missing here. I've read a lot of posts on this issue, and it seems to be at least a year since a MB Representative said on this Forum that a fix was "in the works". Obviously MB is not interested in fixing this issue or they CAN'T fix it. Either way, if I can't find a workaround to at least deal with it, it will be time for me to find another scanner. I used to leave my PC turned on 24/7 & just locked the screen when finished for the day. Things like system wide malware scans were never a problem as I just scheduled them when I knew I would be away, usually late at night. I no longer leave the PC on. Problem now is that as soon as I turn it on for the day, Malware Bytes (among others) jump immediately into action and gobble up huge portions of my PC’s resources, causing very noticeable and bothersome lags in performance for the things I want to use the PC for. This in spite of a 4.0 GHz, 6-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM and a SSD System drive. A task as simple as just loading a program can take as long as 2-3 minutes where it normally takes only 7-10 SECONDS! My question is this: Is there a FIX for this? If not, is there a way to setup MB to either limit its use of resources (preferred) OR, if that is not possible, set MB to turn off the PC after I *MANUALLY* initiate a scan? Appreciate whatever help anyone can provide, -Gary MB Premium Version: Component package version: 1.0.262 Update package version: 1.0.4306 Now it
  15. Starting this morning the MB service is consuming between 15 and 20% of the CPU at all times. Also the real-time protection will not start. I've tried using the clean tool and re-installing while Windows defender was disabled and still no luck. Any thoughts on what else to try?
  16. Read some of the forum posts and it seems like this is a widespread issue with MWB or something interacting with it. Making a unique post because I noticed the issue on both my desktop and laptop at about the same time (thank you Rainmeter). Noticed that MWB was turning off live web protection on it's own and got concerned when I found it was doing it on both my laptop and PC. When I was troubleshooting on my own (why isn't it working, oh hey MWB is eating all of my RAM and CPU, restart PC, turn off MWB & turn back on MWB, reinstall MWB, power cycle PC, etc.) my desktop threw an error window with the text "Unable to contact license server". Attached the mb-check-results from my laptop, and will do the same for desktop if necessary. mb-check-results.zip
  17. Just like the title says, my Malwarebytes is using way to much RAM. Same goes as for the CPU usage. (as seen in the picture) The program isn't scanning or doing anything at all and I have no clue how this is happening. I hadn't had this problem until recently and I'm not sure on how to fix this. I already tried uninstalling by using the cleaner and reinstalling it but I had no luck in that. Can you guys help me with fixing this problem? Thank you
  18. I used Zemana antimalware and malwarebytes, browser popups were gone and for a short time cpu usage was also lowered, but after restarting cmd.exe is still opening randomly and sending data.
  19. Hello friends of the internet. I have a virus on my computer how fun xDD. I tried using multiple anti-virus softwares to fix the problem but it didn't work. I located the source of the virus, which is in the AppData folder but it says that I don't have permission to delete it. I tried using unlocker to allow me to get access to it but that didn't work either. I tried going into safe mode to delete the file located in App Data but it still says I don't have permission to delete the file. The three files that I think are causing this are rtnsok, igfxmtc, and tikuocb. It makes my CPU go up to 100% so everything I do runs pretty slowly :'( In the task manager when I right click on "Windows Process Manager" and click on "Go to Details," it shows me multiple files of this thing called wirhmbs - Copy.exe. I try to end the process but it always says "Access is Denied." Someone, please help me because I have no idea how to fix this problem. I can provide more information if needed!
  20. Greetings, I have recently noticed that I believe that there may be a virus on my PC. How do I know? Well, I was playing an online game and I noticed I wasn't getting my usual FPS which is 75. Instead, It has been changing between 40-50. SO I decide to open task manager and I see the CPU is around 90%+. It then drops straight after. I look on my browser and I see that the game is running at 75 FPS. When I close the task manager the game goes back to around 40 FPS. At 1st I thought it was Malwarebytes Ant-Virus as it seemed like it was causing it with high CPU Usage. I proceeded to uninstall it and it seems like it wasn't. I run AdwCleaner, says no elements found. I run my Anti-Virus, no threats found. So I'm confused as to what to do. All help appreciated.
  21. Apologies if Malwarebytes has already issued a statement regarding the CPU security vulnerability announced this week but I couldn't find anything on your website or Twitter page. Microsoft announced that their patch is only being released via Windows Update for systems that are running compatible anti-virus products (or no AV product) as the patch can lead to instability for machines running a small number of anti-virus products on the market. I am running Windows 10 and have not seen a patch come down for my machine via Windows Update so I am assuming Malwarebytes is not confirmed to work with Microsoft's patch. Is that accurate? If so, when do you anticipate being able to confirm with Microsoft that your product works with the MS patch? An advisory page on your site for this would be helpful...I may have overlooked it.
  22. Hello, I'm having an issue with my computer that Malwarebytes isn't resolving. After downloading a certain program my computer instantly started running programs slower and connecting to the internet slower as well as not being able to connect. I haven't seen anything obvious in programs and features and can't figure anything else out. 23. Hello guys, there's always a process that takes up 25% and it stays like that, until I decide to stop the process, once I do that another process starts taking up 25% (very badly phrased sorry) it's obviously a virus, I'd really appreciate any help. (I tried to scan the process' files yet no threats were detected so I dunno) Thanks !
  24. Hello When I enable the ransomware module, my CPU usage keeps above 12% all the time, so I have disabled this module. How to fix that? I have the following configuration Malwarebytes premium 3.3.1 (updated) Bitdenfender total security 2018 (with a ransomware module that is enabled) Windows 8.1 (pt-br) Meanwhile is there any way to disable bitdefender alert that I am not totally protect because only the ransomware module is disable? Thanks
  25. I've had a single COM Surrogate process take up like a quarter of my cpu for as long as i can remember. I thought it was normal till someone pointed it out.
