I have this problem, whenever I try to download my AMD drivers for my graphics card the Rx 480, my computer crashes during the display install. I thought that it might have been Malwarebytes thinking that what I was installing was malware, so I turn off Malwarebytes to install my drivers. It crashed anyway but I realize that Real-Time (web) Protection will not stay on and when I started up my computer, Real-Time (web) Protection and malware protection was off. I'm assuming that when I shut it down and tried to download the drivers that is when I got an infection and I need help to get rid of it. another thing that happened is that malware said that rootkit scanning was shut off Addition_04-03-2018 09.25.30.txt FRST_04-03-2018 09.25.30.txt mb-check-results.zip
I'm sorry if I should ask for help elsewhere for specific Windows programs, but I find that this community does an effective job in helping with PC related things like this. So, essentially, some of my Windows programs are kind of screwed up. Paint won't save my pictures as anything but a .bmp, Word Document allows me to open files only on my computer, but when trying to send them to someone else, it appears that it's 0 KB. I can edit them just fine, and "save" them, but they still come up as 0 KB. On top of that, I can't open literally any type of pictures on my computer without it telling me that, "I don't have permission to access it." I think I might have a virus that specifically corrupts my programs, but I'm unsure. Still, it's really irking me, as I could work around not having Paint or the older Movie Maker running, but now it's affecting essential programs like Word Doc. Although it's only a small portion, I managed to lose a page of what I was going to turn in today. I don't know if they affect other programs yet like Exel or other programs embedded into the computer, but I'm scared to find out.
Hello everyone, I'm having stubborn corruption issues on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have tried hard to solve this for almost 2 weeks now, without success..I'm a bit surprised/offended to find myself being forced to resort to specialized forums like this one to fix my problem because I usually always find a way of my own. But this time I will need you guys. My problem is very similar to zac1 on this thread, whom receive great help from Rkinner: Windows 7 will not update - Geeks to Go Forums I'm fairly good at digging into Windows OS so I'll be able to follow your instruction very easily, without having you to be extremely detailed and to describe any common IT terms. Problem========- Corrupt system files which leads to problem installing/uninstalling applications, windows update, ssd firmware, basically anything that require deeper system's integration.- sfc scan find corrupt files but can't fix them all. Troubleshoot done so far========================- Scanned for presence of any malwares/virus/rootkit. Result --> none- Uninstalled/Reinstalled corrupt applications Result --> Sucess, but had to uninstall the dirty way (Revo uninstaller and manual registry left-over removal)- Installed all missing .NET Framework & Visual C++ Redistributables - Registry scan/clean (CCleaner, Little Registry Cleaner, and such) Result --> Many problem found/fixed, without real improvement.- sfc scan (sfc /scannow)- checkdisk scan (chkdsk /f /v /r /x /b)- Reset system's default permission using Tweaking.com's tools (and some manual manipulation) Generated logs: *list of all generated log files (*all done with elevated administrator privilege:=============== - sfc scan ---> https://www.dropbox.com/s/h24h371z1ynjgxv/sfc%20scan%20log.txt (or see attached file)- chkdsk scan ---> https://www.dropbox.com/s/7e45yw9e7j9dpgw/chkdsk.txt (or see attached file)- OTL scan ---> can't complete a scan because of infinite loop on the AppData directory ---> http://screencast.com/t/C83Rut1Bnqgt- CheckSUR ---> can't install the System Update Readiness Tool either but was able to get some log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ld02wwmlv1b8k7n/CbsPersist_20140313224512.cab (file is too big to attach)- SFCFix 18.104.22.168 by niemiro --> https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xtnphhfszt7x5u/SFCFix.txt (or see attached file) I would at least like to be able to install CheckSUR ... Here's what happen when I try to install that it --> 2014-03-14_1304 As you can see I can extract the content of the installer... is there something I can do with those extracted file ? I tried but its a mess of multiple cab files... Also, I just cleared my event viewer log to do a fresh monitoring of that CheckSUR install. here's what I got: ---> 2014-03-14_1328Checksur install eventlog.txt chkdsk.txt sfc scan log.txt SFCFix.txt
