  1. Screen goes black screen /w cursor after windows 7 logo(before I can even log in). Same goes with safe mode, last known good config, low resolution, and every other boot. I've tried the following methods: *Startup repair *Chkdsk *Sfc /scannow *System Restore(no restore points) *System Image Recovery *Memory Diagnostic I've found the problem to be a corruption and not the work of a virus. I've tried booting into recovery environment, running regedit through cmd, and changing winlogon shell value from cmd.exe /k start cmd.exe to explorer.exe but the changes don't save after restart. I realized that its because I can't modify anything through recovery environment but the cmd does work. Last thing I remember doing before this happened was play a video game(league of legends totally safe) and then shutting down after. Then this morning I turned the pc on and it started making a buzzing sound, it terrified me so I turned it off immediately. That's what probably caused it. Sorry if i'm not able to give enough information but i'm left with two options. 1. Is to find a cmd expert and recover my pc with commands 2. Reformat the pc. I've been working on this for five days, even changed the registry through "copy *.* .." from Regback but to no luck it reverts back to broken regedit. I'm 70% wanting to just reformat the damn thing but also have 30% left of hope to fix this through cmd. I pray this problem is solved first thing in the morning, please Lord forgive me.
  2. Nothing like waiting to the last minute. I was able to download Windows 10. However, it reverted back to my Windows 7 and stated the Windows 10 install had a problem during the "migrate data" part of the process. I know enough about trying to fix computer issues, to make me dangerous. So, asking for help. When I googled the problem on https://www.thewindowsclub.com/safe_os-phase-during-migrate_data-operation it suggested using SFC. I did, and the results showed corrupt file(s), some that could not be fixed. I cannot attach the CBS file, and cannot get the computer to change permissions so I can attach it. Also, since I haven't got Windows 10 on my laptop and today is the end of life for Windows 7, Should I remove my documents/pictures/videos to a USB or the like? Thank you!
