  1. hi so I just downloaded adwcleaner and run a scan on my asus laptop. It detected some of the preinstalled software (ASUSDeviceActivation, ASUSGiftBox, ASUSHello, ASUSLiveUpdate, ASUSProductRegistration) when it restarted, I did a rescan and 1 software element still remain. I rescan and restarted a few times but every time I rescan after restarting, it still doesn't removed it. While typing this I open up my start menu and saw that some of the removed software is still there (ASUSHello, ASUSLiveUpdate, ASUSProductRegistration) I tried to open them and [AUSULiveUpdate is removed so i also
  2. My computer has been acting bogged down for a little while but nothing too terrible but I've recently discovered my husband may have very well downloaded some type of virus through vuze. There are a couple of .exes in the task manager I can't identify nor end or delete (access is denied) but malwarebytes is turning up nothing. I also tried to uninstall vuze and it causes the computer to completely shut down and restart itself. The .exes that I've found and can't remove are exizkpasvc.exe, upkdwag.exe (multiple of this one), and vdhipco.exe. Google searches have turned up nothing on any o
  3. For the last week or so, every time I run a malwarebytes scan (scheduled and additional), the following 6 potential threats are found: PUP.Optional.Searching.ShrtCln, C:\USERS\OWNER\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Web Data, No Action By User, [16384], [454819],1.0.3268 PUP.Optional.Searching.ShrtCln, C:\USERS\OWNER\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Web Data, No Action By User, [16384], [454819],1.0.3268 PUP.Optional.Searching.ShrtCln, C:\USERS\OWNER\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Web Data, No Action By User, [16384], [454819],1.0.3268 PUP.Optional.S
  4. I have the same problem - Trojan.Agent.E.Generic is stuck in C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS, even after multiple quarantines. Each time I run the Malwarebytes scan, it shows up in the scan report, but when I check the hosts file, I can't see it (hidden files and operating system files are set to show). I ask Malwarebytes to remove the quarantined file, it tells me it's removed and need to restart. After restart, Malwarebytes reports removal failure. I am attaching a scanlog and files from Farbar. Thank you. mbscan3.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  5. Hello, Several of our PCs have been infected with malware. So far, all seem to have been removed successfully except on one PC. This is a Windows 7 PC.. Each time I run Malwarebytes, it finds trojan.agent.e.generic in the windows hosts file; we quarantine it, Malwarebytes says successful, restart to finish the deletion. Restart to finish deletion results in failure. I'm attaching one of the Malwarebytes scans and files from Farbar. mbscan3.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  6. I went through this guide: forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/ and it told me to post here, so I'm doing so. I have attached the files that Farbar gave me. Thanks Addition.txt FRST.txt Edit: I also just added the scan log from Malwarebytes. scanlog.txt
