Since the last week, after I was trying to install a software, I landed up at the wrong website. While everything seemed normal, it wasn't, the download installer was certainly a scam. It didn't install anything in-fact, my antivirus is consistently detecting an intrusion attempt titled - "Miner.Bitcoinminer Activity 7" every 10-30 mins. I use Norton 360. I have tried everything in my power and based on similar threads in the forum. I used Norton Power Eraser, Adwcleaner, RogueKiller, nothing seems to work. The warnings persist. My laptop is also getting more heated than usual. The source of the intrusion seems to be from a folder \DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME9\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\WCN\S-1-5-77\TIWORKER.EXE. I have attached the recent history logs from Norton. I request someone to please help me remove this. Nothing seems to work, and I won't be able to make any payments with my PC till this gets sorted. Hello, I've posted on here before trying to get rid of the same virus and nothing worked. Now I have found out some newer things about the virus that may help in finally getting rid of it. It seems as though what it's doing is making these gibberish folder names in my Temp folder in AppData. It must run off the start and starts up when my PC goes idle. The folders inside Temp have a bunch of .dll extensions and one application that has a silver coin symbol. Hopefully this helps to finally getting rid of this because it has been bugging me for the past couple months. Most of the time the bitcoinminer.exe crashes leaving annoying windows messages that just pile up. Thanks for any help in advance.
