  1. I used to run IObit ASC until I installed MWB3, which I am running now as my antivirus, Win 10. ASC has been uninstalled. When I run the AdwCleaner scan, I come up with this as a PUP.\: ***** [ Folders ] ***** PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\ProgramData\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\ProgramData\Application Data\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\Users\All Users\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\LocalLow\IObit\Advanced SystemCare V8 ***** [ Registry ] ***** PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare, [Value] - HKU\S-1-5-21-1085300371-3658775179-2118887078-1001\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\Run | Advanced SystemCare 9 I run the cleaning process, which includes a reboot. If I run the AdwCleaner scan again, the same items appear again. I have done this many times with the same result. I never can clean out this PUP. Please help. Thanks. Paul
  2. Hi, I was running scan on my computer with Malwarebytes and it detected Advanced System Care as pup , so i am asking if is it really unwanted program? and, what's the reason to mark it as unwanted? I used it long time ago and got more free keys from their offers and videos, the full report here and it said (PUP.Optional.AdvancedSystemCare), thank you very much mbam-asc.txt
  3. How long are you people going to continue to attempt to claim that ADVANCE SYSTEM CARE is some kind of PUP or TROJAN? You absolutely need to put this disagreement, war or whatever you want to call it behind you and move on! Malwarebytes is one of the only malware detection packages left that does so and the only reason that is anywhere near believable that you would do so is because you hold some kind of childish grudge against them. OK, so we get it, you don't like them. But this has been going on for years and its become old and worn out. Furthermore, what you are doing, could easily be interpreted as UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES! There are people out there who are not technically able to determine that what you are listing as a PUP or trojan actually IS NOT! But those of us who are able to determine these things do know and it does not give a favorable or professional impression of malwarebytes, AT ALL! We understand what is driving your disagreement with IOBIT, but the way you are addressing it is both immoral and wrong! You're hurting your own name more than you are causing problems for IOBIT! You're no better than they are, in fact many would say that what you are doing is worse! Rise above it! Stop the unprofessional war! Stop the false positive detections! WE KNOW ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE IS NOT A PUP OR TROJAN! ITS ABOUT TIME FOR MALWAREBYTES TO ONCE AND FOR ALL UPDATE YOUR DETECTION ALGORITHMS TO REFLECT THIS FACT AND CEASE PLAYING THESE JUVENILE GAMES! GET OFF OF IT ALREADY!
  4. I want to keep using Advanced System Care and I trust it. I instructed MWB to ignore the program and associated files - which worked, but I can't release some previous scan files from quarantine: see image. Have tried closing MWB, restarting and going straight to quarantine to restore, but that gives me the error on the image. Is the error telling me to close all running processes of ASC?? Or of MWB? - which won't happen, even in Task Manager... Thanks for your help - it's irritating but not major, unless those quarantined files stop ASC running smoothly. Dave

  6. Like many others here ... I do not appreciate you deciding/declaring that ASC (Adv System Care PRO) is a PUP. I do not agree that a competitor product should be flagged and NOT an easy way to 1 time PERMANENTLY remove it from your list as a user. I have written about this numerous times over the past year and I have read your response and how you close the subject - time after time. THIS IS A SERIOUS breach of etiquette and showmanship on your part - to decide what is best for the user of your program without LETTING the customer decide if a PAID program is usable by them (on top of it partially a competitor) and that you automatically flag it MULTIPLE TIMES as a PUP. You need to correct this problem .... I have called and left emails requesting my money be refunded for your program which I purchased and still have approximately 700 days before renewal on several computers. I have received nothing back in the form of communication. OTHER than your referencing myself and others to your PUP site on the issue. THIS IS A SPECIFIC ISSUE FOR ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE ONLY. I have used your product of years and even had forever licensing paid years ago on two machines. I have recommended your programs to hundreds of people over the years. But with your current attitude toward ASC, I am left with no other avenue except to ask for a refund and I will remove your program from all of my computers NOW and forever. I do not believe I am the only one who feels this way and find it frustrating that I have to decide between two programs that should work hand-in-hand, instead of one calling the other a PUP when it is a purchased product (just like I purchased yours). Someone in management needs to address this problem. Either make it easy to flag the program ONE time, not every time an update is installed. Also recognize that the program is the PAID version (PRO) - easy to detect and ignore it. Also someone needs to explain why ASC is a PUP - not the general information you post and reference - why SPECIFICALLY is Advance System Care a Potentially Unwanted Program - since so many people own it and have used it, like your program, for years and years. I am also a MS certified expert and have been a member of MS partner for years as well. So I don't want to get in an argument with other experts. Just fix the problem, and allow the user to make the decision, once you flag a program as a PUP - NOT 883 PUPs - all related to a single program - ONE PUP notice for all should be enough. An uneducated/non-experienced person will be frightened by the PUP message and accidentally remove a non PUP program - having relied upon your UNBIASED, logical, recommendation. (ALSO they would not know that by clicking NEXT will bring up a IGNORE ONCE - IGNORE ALWAYS prompt). A disgruntled customer ... becoming more so with your lack of response to this problem.
