DON'T PAY RUSSIAN CRYAKL RANSOM - YOU WON'T GET YOUR FILES BACK If you pay the typically demanded 3 btc (US$12,000) then they'll say "Pay full price 5 btc", US$20,000 and even if you pay that you still won't get your files back. CL 126.96.36.199.id-@@@@@7491-11C2.randomname Above is the latest version from Russian criminals which changes your file names and starts with the email to contact them. Typically the email is from aol.com (eg firstname.lastname@example.org) or india.com (eg email@example.com). They will ask for 3 bitcoin today and 5 tomorrow. What do you think happens when you pay 5 bitcoins ..... the price goes up again. I encourage you to contact the FBI to track them down and your state Senator in the US and put pressure on AOL to stop assisting these criminals.
Hey guys, This is my first post on this forum. I have been getting an anti-exploit attack from aol sometimes using internet explorer. Is anybody else getting this attack? It is only through internet explorer and not through Chrome. The good news is when it does happen the program does its job and blocks it. Yet, when I do a full system scan with Malware bytes it does not find any malware. Could I be doing something wrong to be missing it? Also, with an intrusion attempt, what exactly does that mean? What are the steps I need to do to fix the problem? Thanks
I saw a topic similar to my situation but did not know if it was the exact same. AOL is forcing me to make them my homepage and will not exit out unless I comply. Random advertisements pop up saying my computer is under serious threat, also. Please help I read the "I'm infected - What do I do now?" page and am attaching "DDS" and "Attach". dds.txt attach.txt
I'm not an AOL customer and never agreed to any AOL products but somehow my homepage and browser were changed. I deleted AOL from browser options and selected Google and that works. However when I go to an address I want as my homepage and go to the House on the right it says http://www.aol.com/?...usaolp00000015. It just will take me to that page and not let me change it at all. I ran a quick scan with the updated Malwarebytes and found 0 issues. I attached the homepage source because it was too long for the post. I really appreciate the help!! Thanks, K
