  1. When user access files via share on a server with MBAM installed and MBAR enabled, the user is told that the file is in use by another user. If we turn off MBAR the issue goes away. We do not want to disable MBAR permanently or else there is no point in spending a fortune on MBAM in the first place.
  2. The Anti-ransomware in Malwarebytes has stopped several times on its own. I reboot the computer and it is working again. I also run Kaspersky Internet security, but have exclusions to ignore Malwarebytes... Is there some possible malware stopping this service or ransomware lurking in the background? Anybody know of another possible reason?

  4. About 2 months ago we started having problems with our Windows 7 machines getting stuck on shutting down during a shutdown or reboot process. We've narrowed the problem down to Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware. If we uninstall and reinstall it the problem goes away but it seems whenever we get windows updates it breaks it again. Anyone else see this problem and have a more permanent fix? We are running Anti-Ransomware for business
  5. Since automatic update yesterday to Malwarebytes Premium ( components 1.0.75 package 1.0.1574) I get a warning that protection against ransomware is turned off. But I cannot turn it on. Toggling the switch just says "Starting..." And then the next time it is off again. Please advise. I see similar issues described on the internet but no solution yet.   6. Every day as the computer starts up, I get a warning message from Layers of Protection. I always have to turn on anti-ransomware but it does not hold for the next day. At one point the issue was with rootkits as well in the same category, but it now stays on. What can I do to stop the repetitive need to turn on anti-ransomware under layers of protection?

  8. Hello, Regretfully I cannot find anywhere to put this appeal for help in your extremely convoluted system. It took me an hour to register for this forum: three brand new Email addresses and five usernames were rejected. Not to mention the ridiculous picture show security check. Having got that off my chest: I redownloaded the latest MWB AntiRansom file, but it has a problem in that it won't run. Protection isn't running.   10. Anti-Ransomware flagged Intuit Quickbooks FCS while running a Quickbooks 2013 update. It's difficult to find documentation on this exe, but it is involved in installing updates after they have been downloaded from what I was able to uncover. I can't remember if it was a program update or payroll update I was running at the time. After reboot, it would not release from Quarantine. I did a fresh install of Anti-Ransomware without rebooting and the program\service would only crash after that. I rebooted again with the same outcome. Had to remove and then reinstall so quarantine was gone. I was able to repair QB so the zip isn't the .exe from quarantine, but the replacement from after repair.   17. Flux Studio is coming up as ransomware. No other known tools seem to identify it as malware. The anti-ransomware tool identified the x64-bit versions 0.2.16 and 0.3.0 as ransomware after a laser engraving session was completed. The timing may have been a coincidence.   18. I had problems updating to the 9.15.416.. first I hit the yellow New update available button only to have the MWBAR screen freeze and not allow anything, no highlights nothing. Then I go to forums to find link for new version and download set-up file for .416 I then run this trying to copy over old, updater come up 3-4 times says unable to delete old file or stop old service etc.. I hit retry on delete old files several times without success finally hit ignore and it seemed to install but would not run or connect to service. After complaining and filing my info Zip files here on forum (on another link will try to move over to this one) I was afraid to restart my computer for fear it would not restart.. and was concerned about one of my other computers with MWBAR not being able to access the set-up menu, don't know if that is normal. Anyway.. after reading another similar post about "MWBAR not updating and service not connecting" I found the guy was having same problem updating and not connecting, who DID restart his computer and was then able to update and connect to service SO I decided to risk restarting my computer and then running (immediately) the downloaded and saved Set-up file for .416 which to my Thankfulness worked and made me a happy camper. Like I said I did send in the zip files after all the problems and before I restarted so maybe they can use them to debug the program. P.S. Thank you Malwarebytes for your Anti-Ransomware program it has already notified of several attempts of attacks by rogue ransomware including from Ease-s back-up program and from Bang--good selling site, both were stopped and I was notified. Here's probably a false positive on the latest Beta 6: What I was doing: Running XAMPP7 and updated plugins on a localhost install of Wordpress (latest 4.4.2), when Anti-Ransomware detected ransomware activity (see attached screen dump). This was when I fired the autoupdate on the Duplicator plugin from within the Wordpress Admin Dashboard. I have been running the Ransomware betas for some weeks now, and I'm certain I have done this before, on previous betas - updating plugins in localhost Wordpress, without Ransomware beeing triggered.   21. Hi, I'm new to the forum and a rookie that decided to join the beta test (likely a mistake). Quarantined crashplan at risk notification and am trying to restore the file. Instructions say to disable protection and then follow further steps. Am currently unable to 'stop protection'. Does this button actually work in MWBAR? Any suggestions? I believe I cannot restore the program until I can stop protection.
  22. Malwarebytes Anti-ransomware could provide an option to include an encryption service for the persons computer or laptop to stop malware especially ransomware. The encryption service would have a re-direction of ransomware to the Malwarebytes labs and monitoring system 24/7 for the computer and/or for the laptop system files, folders, system files and programs, networks, etc, and anything that can be encrypted including any network. So if the user accidently infects the laptop or desktop that the ransomware would be redirected to the malwarebytes lab for analysis with the intended target being affected. Also, Malwarebytes could also lead to another innovation so if any file or files or a program being clicked on by mistake, for example, clicking on an usual attachment in an e-mail that the attachment could be sent to the Malwarebytes labs for analysis.
  23. The MBAMService.exe service is taking up 3 GB of my memory and completely slows down my PC. I am running a Windows 7 64 bit OS with McAfee AV and HIPS. Only until I kill the service, can I work on my computer.
  24. What is the difference between Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware. Doesn't AE protect against ransomware already?
