  1. Malware named svcvmx is preventing me from using any sort if anti-malware in my system. Also causing my google chrome to crash, even though it is not a enabled extension. Cannot kill the malware in task manager and have tried many uninstaller pro software. All which have been unsuccessful.I would greatly appreciate some feedback thanks!
  2. I had installed trial versions of Malwarebytes products and used the free tools as well. For some reason I had a problem with Safari browser in Windows. I had archived documents which needed to be open using Safari browser. Safari crashed and the only way to recover Windows health was using the Reason Core Security tool Remediation. Several other incidents have happened and even though my intention was to purchase Malwarebytes, it seems to me I was somehow driven to purchase some other products instead. I still use the very helpful free tools provided by Malwarebytes. Just out of curiosity.
  3. Hello Malwarebytes is direct competition for CISCO's AMP for endpoints? Or could they complement each other? According to Cisco, AMP for endpoints is not an antivirus and is designed to detect and stop advanced malware, and that is why they recommend in any way to continue using an antivirus. My question is with regard to Malwarebytes, since this one also has its Anti-Malware, could this be a competition for the CISCO AMP or should it complement as CISCO suggests?
  4. dear community ! and it support ! could you pls help me out wit product activation key which is invalid due to the fact that system windows was reinstalled several times on my computer. right npw it is not accepted validated by malwarebytes - help much appreciated regards ki
  5. Hi there! I'm new to the forum but a long time user of Malwarebytes free anti-malware software. Recently my avast internet security ran out and while I was purchasing a new subscription I thought that it might be a good idea to upgrade my free Malwarebytes anti-malware to the premium version. On the way to the website (through Google) an advert popped up saying that new customers that purchase a subscription for anti-malware will be eligible to get anti-exploit for free. I really want the del but I don't know if it is real or if this is some kind of scam, I will post the link below. https://buy.malwarebytes.com/bundle/au/ Can anyone smarter than me (everyone) tell me if this is real or not? Thanks for taking the time to have a look FLS
  6. I scanned pc, malwarebytes, treaths were quarantined but pc now does not boot anymore message: COMCTL32.dll missing How possible to recoved quarantined files since not possible to reboot pc? pls help Thx, Conte
  7. Hello, Today I faced a problem that I have never experienced before. First the web browers that I usually use (google chrome) started crashing whenever I was trying to download a file. I found that a little strange so I restarted my computer, and suddenly Skype started giving me an error while trying to load (It is set as a startup program). I tried the second browser that I have installed (Mozilla Firefox) and I experienced the same issue, crashing whenever I try to download something (example Malwarebytes Anti-malware). I have an old version of the program installed on my PC (ver 2.3.55.0) And whenever I try to start it I am getting a message "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has stopped working". I also tried the option "Run as Administrator" and then I got "external exception C000001D". It is funny that I also have MCShield installed which suddenly also stopped working along with Northen Power Eraser refusing to start. The antivirus program that I currenly have on my PC is ESET NOD 32 Trial version. (At least it is still working). I am almost sure that it is somesort of virus but I cant identify it. I would be happy to hear your professional oppinion what may be causing browsers to crash and preventing anti-malware and anti-viruses programs from starting
  8. I was waiting for my Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Program to auto-renew today which I reinstated a couple weeks ago. However, I see a message telling me that my subscription as expired and my Protection as been temporarily extedned due to the renewal failure. Could it have had the wrong payment information?
  9. Hi guys, so basically, today I upgraded from a trial version to premium version of Malwarebytes, and I had a few questions: 1.) I bought it using this link (https://store.malwarebytes.org/342/purl-consumer) and received an email with a download link in which I ran (not before deleting the trial version as the install kept failing until I did), did I download the correct/safe Malwarebytes? (running version 2.2.1.1043) 2.) Are there any big changes that come with premium? The first scan I have ran since deleting the trial version and downloading the premium is taking longer than normal. Does this mean it is doing a more thorough search than the trial? Thanks
  10. Hi, basically I have ran a threat scan and found no problems, but when I look at the logs it always says deep rootkit disabled, even though I have checked the box in 'detection and protection' section. <options> <memory>enabled</memory> <startup>enabled</startup> <filesystem>enabled</filesystem> <archives>enabled</archives> <rootkits>disabled</rootkits> <deeprootkit>disabled</deeprootkit> <heuristics>enabled</heuristics> <pup>enabled</pup> <pum>enabled</pum> </options> Have I done something wrong or is this the same for everyone? Thanks
  11. Ok, so I installed this program just last week, and everything has been fine. Today, I have the computer on and all of a sudden, I get a blue screen saying to restart the computer. I did not get a chance to actually get the error code for this, as I had no idea what happened (and I'm sick, so my focus is mostly shot). Now, Malwarebytes won't start. The Anti-Exploit that came with the Anti-Malware is working fine, but I can't get the Anti-Malware to work at all now. Here's the error I get when I try to open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: mbam.exe Application Version: 2.3.125.0 Application Timestamp: 5612a56b Fault Module Name: MSVCR100.dll Fault Module Version: 10.0.40219.325 Fault Module Timestamp: 4df2be1e Exception Code: 40000015 Exception Offset: 0008d6fd OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 8374 Additional Information 2: 83748d7ce6919cf452bf5c3838e036f3 Additional Information 3: 92c4 Additional Information 4: 92c4b3a26eb0eb624fc40372e7140107 What the heck happened and what can I do to fix it? Because if this happens a lot I find that really obnoxious, considering I've been told Malwarebytes is one of the best out there and it crashes and burns within a week...
  12. Hi there! I don't seem to be able to activate my installation despite my internet working and being able to activate my anti-exploit installation. Attached are the log files. -Tom Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
  13. I have two virtual machines running Windows in VMware. (I'm actually a Mac user) I'm wondering if I need 2 licenses for the premium version or if 1 license covers my situation? (I'm assuming 1 license is for 1 computer?) P.S. Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium really give me more protection in comparison with the free version and Kaspersky Total Security? P.P.S. Isn't there a sale available for the holidays?
  14. Hi, I noticed my browsers (Firefox, IE) was loading very slowly yesterday night so this morning I run Avast and Anti-Malware but nothing was found. After I updated Anti-Malware I could no longer access any websites unless I turn off Anti-Malware. I'm attaching CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt files. Also I tried Zoek (since I saw a similar issue from previous post) but it didn't solve the problem. I'm attaching the Zoek results file too. Thank you in advance Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt zoek-results.txt
  15. I would like to suggest a periodic (weekly?) emailed blog from Malwarebytes to cover all aspects of malware - not just Anti-Exploit but all news that might be helped by Malwarebytes products Occasionally I receive a sales email. On Friday 30-Jan-2015 I received a sales email promoting the capture of the Flash trojan. - I had spent weeks not understanding why YouTubes were suspended - Flash Player has never been reliable but the Malwarebytes "sales email" contained links to more information - now I am better informed, I hope ! How to geek send me a news/blog email at least 3 days per week - HowToGeek is the best informer (for me) of what is going on in IT plus tips etc In 2013 I decided to take more responsibility for my PC's health (2 laptops and 4 rigs) when paid gurus were stuffing up my business machines. If such a Malwarebytes "subscription" already exists ... where can I sign up ? Thank you
  16. Hello. I'm very sorry if this is not the correct forum where I should be asking this, please redirect me if I'm wrong. I used Malwarebytes anti-malware software after encountering a very annoying ad malware dnsblocker and researching a little bit a random webpage redirected me to your software. I used and after finding many threats the software put them in quarantine but Google Chrome stopped working. However, the chat system of steam still works. I googled the problem but the most effective solutions came from this forum. I downloaded frst64.exe. I'll attach the required log files. Thanks for the help! FRST1.txt Addition1.txt
  17. I'm having a problem with Anti-Malware Premium. I recently upgraded my computer so I have a fresh Windows 7 Pro x64 installation. Last week we changed ISPs. Once we switched to the new ISP's equipment, Anti-Malware severely hinders my Internet connection. Any time I have Anti-Malware enabled on my computer, websites won't load and I get DNS lookup failures all the time. As if Anti-Malware itself is using a proxy but it is not configured to use one. Once I disable Anti-Malware my Internet connection is restored and functions properly. I've used mbam-clean-2.1.8.1057.exe to completely remove Anti-Malware and then I reinstalled it. The problem still exists. Can someone please help me resolve this?
  18. I like the Malicious Website Block feature. I just wish I could not be warned after the first per-session attempt from a site/port/direction. In other words, I'm requesting options dealing with how often I have to see the popup window.
  19. Hello, Have MWB anti-malware software... program pop-up says I need to update... pop-up's red "X" on upper-right is greyed... when I click "Update Now," nothing happens. Opened MWB dashboard to try updating that way... dashboard says "Database is out of date" - clicked "Fix it now," nothing happens. How do I fix this? I paid for a security program so that I wouldn't have to worry about such issues ... maybe I should have stuck with freeware programs - that way when they fail, I know I got what I paid for.

  21. Dell Inspiron 1525, Windows Vista Hello Malwarebytes! Please help! My computer was infected with Snap.do which hijacked both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I followed the advice on malwaretips.com (malwaretips/blogs/snap-do-toolbar-removal/) and after backing up my files, uninstalled the program (which was cunningly named Quick Share and published under Linkbury Inc). I then removed the Snap.do residual damage (following the step-by-step instructions... until today I was quite happy with Norton and knew nothing about viruses... 5 hours later however ) from both browsers and ran Adwcleaner to remove Snap.do registry keys as recommended. I then downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, which after running a quick scan detected 5 objects. I only wrote down that they were Adware-lBryte and the remaining four were Trojan.Zlob, so I'm unsure of the exact location, but I think it was in My Folders (?!). After clicking remove, I was prompted to restart my computer to complete the process. However it is now stuck on the 'Shutting down...' screen and after 2 hours has failed to shut down and restart. It has failed to shut down before after Windows updates and I have had to manually close it down by holding the power key, but I'm worried to do that in this instance? Any advice would be very much appreciated as I'm a complete novice to virus software! I've borrowed my Dad's computer so have access to emails etc! Thanks so much!!
