  1. I'm having an issue with my UMX android phone with some sort of adware virus I believe. I use Google Chrome as my main browser and for the last few months, when I click on Google Chrome and even when I'm not using Google Chrome it redirects me to weird websites like hastopic.com and weekhot.codeblogbt.com and random apps like ThemeLightBlue or YourTube that hijack my phone screen with some sort of Tarot game. This also makes my phone run really slow. I've cleared all chrome history and data and factory reset my phone 3 times. Each time I factory reset it, it starts doing the same thing ranging from between 3 days to a few hours. After the most recent factory reset it changed my home tab on android to something like gdd news. I've had Malwarebytes installed, it doesn't even detect YourTube as malware and says it's safe even though I didn't install it and it's not listed in the app store. These apps also try and disguise themselves as system apps. As I'm typing this an app on my phone popped up called Jungle Treasure which is actually on the Google Play app store but I did not confirm installation for.
  2. recently i have been infected by a trojan, occamy.AA to be specific, mcafee caught some of it but i still have some adware and some PUPs on my laptop somewhere and some fake popups. ive scanned with malwarebytes, hitmanpro, mcafee, and tried using adwcleaner but nothing is coming up. Help? i have a dell inspirion 15 5000, am on Version 10.0.19043 Build 19043, windows 10, and have had this problem for about a week and a half.
  3. About a week ago I had some performance issues on my laptop,so I scaned with malwarebytes and I found adware in the registry so I quarantined it and deleted it. I restarted my laptop and I scaned again and it returned, for a week I (used adwcleaner)(scaned multiple times)(reinstaled Internet explorer)(used avast)(asked my friend for a solution)(filled my search history trying to find a solution)(had a mental breakdown). Can anyone help me please?
  4. Hello, When starting my PC, since 2-3 days, I began to be prompted by a recurring pop-up asking me to install TAP Provider v9 for Private Tunnel and am very suspicious as I have to cancel the pop-up times before it stops asking (see attached screen grab), which screams for me behavior of some malware/adware. I've scanned with MalwareBytes my computer to no result. A Google search points to a possible Adware, and all companies giving "advice" are very fishy. tree facts : - I did made a search on "free VPN" the other day cause I wanted to access a news video (official TV site, nothing funky there), which was country restricted - but didn't install anything - but you know, some of those adware could be pretty sneaky and vicious, just visiting a page could have triggered this, and I thought that having MalwareBytes installed would protect me from - Prior to this (a week before), I've installed Opera browser which supposedly have some VPN features built-in, but install pop-up will show later. ( I only mention this cause of the VPN feature that seems to be related) - When I took the screen capture in order to post it there, the file name is "Epic Game Launcher" as the host application. Maybe it did so, because it was the forefront application at the time, I'm not sure about this one ; I'm not a gamer, but I've installed this app for evaluate a couple of games on a design point of view and Epic is a solid established house. But the thing that worries me the most, is that MalwareBytes doesn't detect anything. Am I being paranoid ?
  5. Hello, I'm glad this forum exist. I've already had virus problems in the past, so I'm really cautious now. But recently i've been on websites for streaming (www12.9anime.to). And suddenly my search query are redirected to Bing through Charmsearching.com. I don't have any extensions in my browser that is abnormal. I don't have any clue why it has been installed since I didn't download anything. How did it happen ? I've read that this malware sells your data for identity thief, and I'm really worried since my browser is chrome and multiple Google account are connected to it. What are the risks ? Malwarebytes don't detect anything with a scan ! Thank you for your help.
  6. Hello, I'd like to help my elderly friend who is having popups all the time, which appear to be from the WishApp. I talked her through disabling notifications, etc in Windows 10, as well as in the Chrome browser. I found a removal guide for the WishApp at the link below. http://www.malwareremovalguides.info/remove-wishapp/ My question, is whether or not this is a good removal guide? My friend does not have a laptop, and at the present time I am recovering from a total joint replacement surgery. Therefore, I do not have access to the computer myself. Unfortunately, my elderly friend has a hard enough time with basic computer funcions. I am hoping to talk them through instructions by phone. Please advise. Thank you, Julie
  7. Hi, I am trying to renew my certificate using Certify The Web (v 5.1.11.0) but it is failing with No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:1080. I asked in that forum and was told that I have malware / adware. I scanned using Malewarebytes and it did find some adware. These have been cleaned but I am still unable to update the SSL certificate. Any help appreciated. Addition.txt AdwCleaner[S04].txt FRST.txt
  8. I have a WordPress Blog. On this blog site recently a widget does not appear on my blog or at least not when I view my blog from my laptop. ( <div class="gfm-embed" data-url="https://www.gofundme.com/f/gh6a6x-carl-jung-depth-psychology/widget/large/"></div><script defer src="https://www.gofundme.com/static/js/embed.js"></script> from GoFundMe is not appearing on my Blog. ) The WordPress Support team tells me that: “The only other thing I can think might be happening (since the code works fine for us) is that you could have ad blocking software installed that is counting the widget as an ad.” I do not know of any ad blocking software installed on my laptop. How would I tell if I did? Could I possibly be infected? A Malwarebytes Premium scan does not indicate any problems. Can anybody suggest how I might diagnose my laptop for either blocking software of an infection? Thank you, Lewis
  9. So it seems I have some sort of malware on my Google Chrome on Mac. I'm pretty new to this so please bare with me. For example When I search a random search in Google Chrome this URL briefly shows: http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.operativeeng.com%2Fcps%3Fq%3Dwhere%2Bare%2Byou%26_pg%3DD5AF862B-7C24-5787-AF3D-AEAFF9F8B205 I am then redirected to Yahoo's search engine even though Chrome had always been my default. When I go to Chrome settings I see this search engine listed but there is no remove option. Chrome://management shows my computer is being managed by an outside source (this is a personal laptop). Going to chrome://policy shows this as default search provider http://search.operativeeng.com/favicon.ico I ran a Malwarebytes scan, it identified three threats and I quarantined and then restarted. However the malware is still on my chrome. I am wondering if it is embedded into my gmail account somehow. Thanks for any suggestions, just worried they could steal my passwords/financial information somehow.
  10. Today I installed an app from outside the play store named Amoled live wallpaper from yhe website apk4free.net (full url : https://apk4free.net/amoled-livewallpaper/), this link tricks you into downloading mobidash which is 6.8 Mb something. So I downloaded and installed the adware thinking it was amoled lwp and guess what!? it was not showing either in my apps screen or my application manager, however all thanks to malwarebytes, malwarebytes found it and uninstalled it, it was even not being shown as a blank app in my application manager, I did everything to find it. So I just want you guys at malwarebytes to know that this adware no longer shows itself in the application manager. It has evolved. I'm using a galaxy note 10 lite android 10. Thanks, awaiting your reply. Please do assure me that the malware or adware had reaaly been uninstalled by malwarebytes from my smartphone. Please download and inspect the file from the respective link I provided above.
  11. I keep getting a URL:Mal threat secured notification from my Avast antivirus software. When I run I scan using Avast, it picks up no virus, malware or suspicious threat. When I run a scan in malware bytes it also picks up no malware, viruses or threats. How do i remove this? I am running mac. The threat keeps coming up as being from the following links i have i have never been on before: upd-pct.info/ or pctupd.info/ . I did some research on this, and found out it is coming from PopcornTime which is a P2P app for watching movies. I immediately deleted the app and all its contents but the pop still comes every 5 hours or so. I still have not been able to find any solid information on how to remove this threat. I fear this may be a new malware or virus that neither Avast or Malwarebytes is aware of, and it constantly trying to connect to the internet in the background, which is when avast blocks the attempt. I cannot fins any information on how to remove this threat, please help me.

  14. Im not a malware expert but it seems it have infected the windows installer msiexec.exe and sending or receiving data through internet to a domain "4nbizac8.ru" , malwarebytes categorizes it as an adware and blocks it. But the malware keeps repeating itself every 4-5 seconds it cannot be stopped. Malwarebytes keep notifying that it successfully blocked it every 4-5 seconds. I ran the scanner multiple times but it cannot fix it, its up to date. Here is the log : (end)

  17. Computer infected with Trojan Virus and Malware My computer has a problem as it has been infected with Trojan virus and malware and adware the name of the virus is(TROJAN.PHISHING.ARK!eml) this name was there when windows defender did offline scan .as well and the keys are not working the desktop icons are not appearing and I can't use the desktop itself and even the local C drive is also affected in user data now how to repair the computer computer desktop icons are not appearing since many days as well as the keys are not responding itself even after pressing F8 the task manager shutdown itself nothing. Actually actually I had installed two apps that is reimage repair and internet download manager for downloading my online lectures then because of this virus entered and the bottom task bar in desktop is always loading and only the wallpaper is shown with no desktop icons and I even tried several times restarting via CPU button . 18. (Sprint S10 Android) Hello sorry for bothering you all again but it seems I have a different problem now too, Recently I've noticed googleads . g . doublclick . net showing up recently on my Blokada logs, I know this is a legitimate Google ad server but it just showing up from time to time isn't the problem. I've noticed it in multiple apps that either have their own ad domains or app that are opensource and I can guarantee do not have ads of any kind, yet when open spam that adress. When I dont have those apps open it tries to reach googleads about every hour despite not doing anything, and when those apps are open it spams it every few seconds. The apps I've noticed start this spam are as follows: Samsung Notes Tachiyomi ( An open source app that I can guarantee has no ads) Ebay Amazon shopping Pixiv Reddit Apps I've noticed that don't set it off: Google Play (ironically enough) Gmail Malwarebytes Blokada Newpipe Firefox VLC Media Player Medisafe FFXIV Companion I originally thought it was the apps themselves but after whitelisting them to not block ads in those apps Blokada still blocks googleads so its not the apps causing this, I dont belive. I also went to my settings and restricted background data and forced stopped all my apps except system apps and the safe apps that don't set it off. It stopped for a little bit after turning Blokada's Adguard DNS on and off (then it only tried to reach the server every hour or so) but then it came back, I tried turning it on and off again and it didn't work, it was still being spammed in those apps. I tried again right as I was righting this and it seems to have stopped again for some weird reason. Malwarebytes doesn't detect anything at all. I haven't turned off Blokada or whitelisted that adress, I'm afraid of anything happening. I'm sorry if this is too long winded or hard to understand, this is making me incredibly stressed and with the pandemic and social distancing this is the only thing I have to think about. Any help would be very appreciated, Thank You.
  19. In Google Chrome on win 10 I cannot remove an extension for "SearchSpace" It says that my "browser is managed by your organization" which is not true at all. I own and am the sole administrator of my pc. The only 'organization' that it could remotely be referring to said he has no idea what it is and offered that it is some sort of adware... info that appears readily in a google search. Of course I went to Google who response is below but that did not work either as it said that I was not connected to a necessary domain that Group policy could not be changed. Google's response is below (see the black box response screen snip below (I had tried obvious things like uninstall download fresh chrome, use Malwarebytes, etc) I need assistance in removing this unwanted unauthorized possibly malicious bug.... 20. I purchased a DOOGEE X5 Pro phone a while back, and while I thought the phone would be good, that wasn't the case at all. But there's a problem that I've been putting off seriously tackling until now: This phone (or the one I got at least) has a major adware problem. After a while of some use, the phone would: Randomly be redirected to malicious ad content within the default browser. Randomly display popup ads that are difficult to take off because they have a timer delay on the close/X button to close the ad, or would even temporarily disable the touch functionality of the phone. Persistent notifications labelled "[GameCenter] ...." These highly annoying ads appear within minutes of using the phone. And what about resetting the phone? It works for a while, and then goes back to doing the same thing. At first I thought it was malicious apps causing trouble, so I avoided certain apps and factory resetted it if an app turned out to be malicious. But it would seem that isn't the case as even after installing more major apps like Reddit resulted in the adware suddenly showing up. As you can see the first screenshot below, the app that brings up the adware has a chinese name that I can't recognise. In the notification bar, I circled the icon of the '[GameCenter]..." notification. As for the other screenshot, I suspect that it's the adware/malware in question, but it's installed as a system application so I can't uninstall it. For now I have Malwarebytes (Premium Trial) and Norton Mobile Security to see if it can be stopped. So far nothing has occurred, but it's only been two days (I'll probably try reinstalling other apps to see if it's triggered). After reading about the 'xhelper' malware that sounded very similar to what was happening on my phone, I thought it would be worth asking about this in forums to see if I can get some help.
  21. After bringing up www.msn.ca and viewing for a short period of time, tab is completely grabbed by another url and display having a popup; I've seen two different urls so far; they follow: https://visitormedicalinsurance.xyz/f28b2078b2c876bc56d518909c6777ed/index.html?ip=192.243.79.131&trackid=20200321231120551 https://mconsumerdefinition.xyz/f28b2078b2c876bc56d518909c6777ed/index.html (this one had an ip and track id parameters as well) After answering some user survey questions and clicking through some windows, the user selects a prize they have one (e.g., Samsung Galaxy phone) and then the user is asked to supply credit card information for shipping. Scam displays the user's service provider name and branding in the header to fool the user. Close inspection of text reveals odd, but not necessarily incorrect grammar. Scam appears very professional and could fool lots of folks. Please have a look so others are not inconvenienced or worse yet taken advantage of. I have the latest version of Malwarebytes premium installed and it did not detect this malware. Neither did my most recent version of Norton Internet Security.
  22. So I am locked in a several day long battle with the adware Vosteran. Hasn't done what all the other articles about it say it does, like changing browser settings or showing intrusive ads. It isnt really doing anything to the pc or chrome, but I'm scared it might be collecting information in the background or might have just not been set off yet. I have reset chrome settings, used HitmanPro, Malwarebytes, RKill, and even wiped the whole PC. I am not really sure what I haven't done yet, and would really appreciate some suggestions.

Reset Google Chrome, cleared history and cookies. Ran both programs again with same result. MB is blocking the adware but it's not removed.
  25.
