I have gone back to version 2 because version 3 doesn't play nice with Kaspersky Internet Security 2017. System hangs on start up. If I set MB3 to not start automatically I can get the system to boot and after Kaspersky gets up and running I can start MB3 and all *seems* to be working. I have noticed that when I am fiddling with MB3 settings it will occasionally hang the system like it does on startup. Some times you can wait it out if don't do anything for 10 or 15 minutes. I don't have any screen shots. the system just hangs. No crashes or BSODs just hanging. MS Windows 7 Home Premium version 6.17601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 64bit, i7-3770K, MB3.05, Kis 18.104.22.1681 (c) To reproduce the issue install MB3 then reboot. System will hang on startup. It happens every time. I don't have any log files because I uninstalled MB3 and put on MB2. The folder they are supposed to be in is gone.
I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm posting it in this forum. I'm having problems with my PC ever since I did a repair install which I did because of the problems I was having with the PC before the repair install. It started off with my computer being even slower than it was before I did the repair install. Perhaps there was something I need to set up or tweak that I don't know about? I am now getting a BSOD every day now.. I do NOT want to do a clean fresh install of my operating system since the whole point of the repair install was to keep all installer programs and other things intact. The repair install gave my operating system a fresh start, so why is it slow, and now having BSOD's?
Always recommended Malwarebytes to customers and friends but sadly this new version is bugged. The very first scan I did after upgrading worked fine. Tried various subversions of V2 free since including the latest 22.214.171.1247 and it now always hangs during the Heuristics scan. The program cannot be paused, cancelled or closed once the file count is stuck and so the process has to be killed off. I tried the usual recommendation of the uninstaller, reboot, reinstall - it makes no difference. Turning off "Use Advanced Heuristics Engine" doesn't actually turn off the Heuristics scan like you would expect. So sadly a useful utility now useless until its fixed!
