  1. This came from a support ticket -- they recommended I submit it as a suggestion. I opened the ticket all upset because I was prompted for an upgrade, I installed it with no clue that a reboot would be required. It was, and I was very upset. Here's the details: I generally considered your application important enough that I accepted upgrades whenever they popped up. I often have a lot of open windows and basically never reboot. I will reboot if I have to, but only at a time of my choosing (barring crashes). Since you cannot alert me that a reboot will be needed until it’s too late, it doesn’t matter that a reboot is rarely needed; I have to assume any upgrade might require that. I was very annoyed when I got the reboot requirement that initiated this ticket, because it was a very unpleasant surprise. I don’t even recall if I was given no choice, that it would reboot in 5 minutes if I didn’t choose it sooner. I think I closed everything and allowed the reboot because I was afraid that it was already stopped so I would be running unprotected if I didn’t reboot. Now if you had told me that a reboot would be required BEFORE I accepted the update, I would have scheduled that for a time that the reboot would be more convenient (well let’s say less inconvenient). Would I have forgotten? Good chance, so either a periodic reminder or a “don’t ask again for ___ hours” window would be a good idea. Between open windows, and not wanting to basically lose my PC for 5 minutes, I do not appreciate surprise reboots. You have just made me defer most upgrade alerts; thanks for nothing. Until I find out that this is fixed, I will assume all upgrades may reboot, and will defer them and hopefully remember to manually initiate it.
  2. Hi, I just upgraded my license to 2 devices but never received a code. The existing code for my current device does not work when used on my second device (an android phone). If this does not work on android (which is weird since its included in the description) i want my money back.
  3. After the last big upgrade my windows 7 shut down button would not work and then my issues got worse until I went to the forums and learned that many others had issues. Issues were finally resolved. Now, I upgraded again and yes, the shut down button won't work. Any suggestions?
  4. Hi I received a notification in Windows the other day that there was a new version of Malwarebytes Professional and opted to download and install it. Yesterday when I started my laptop I noticed that while the Start and right-hand Taskbar icons had loaded and displayed, none of the Application Taskbar icons I had configured (by right-clicking and selecting the Pin to Taskbar option) were displaying. I ran the Windows SFC/ Scannow and DISM utilities - neither found any errors, then uninstalled MalwareBytes and restarted, at which point my Taskbar icons were restored and displayed. I'm running Windows 10 X64 with latest updates (Version 10.0.17134.112), and Windows Defender is active.
  5. Lately MBAM has become more obnoxious popping up nag boxes to upgrade. If I clicked "no" to this 14 days in a row, why would I will click "yes" on day 15? But putting that aside for a second, I was informed that a new version needs to be downloaded and installed. In other programs this happens seamlessly. In MBAM, I click 'agree and install', it attempts a fresh installation of the whole program, and immediately I get a long error about "could not overwrite mbam.exe"... now, I'm aware of what's happening, it doesn't have permission to shut down and overwrite the main MBAM process, which is currently running. I know enough about computers to deal with it. But a lot of people will just be confused, my parents or grandparents won't know what that error means or what do with it, so they won't upgrade. After being around 12 years, how do you not predict this obvious problem with the installation, and figure out a way to ensure it doesn't happen, instead of just leaving the user to click ok to a confusing error dialogue with no further hints? Maybe this is a lot of complaining to do for a free product, but if you want any hope of getting money from me, I have to know the program will not be intrusive, and that updates will go 100% smoothly, otherwise it's worth what I'm currently paying.
  6. I just got a message from Malwarebytes that a new upgrade is available and do I want to install. In fact, I don't, because my Win7 system doesn't handle Malwarebytes' installer very well. I always have to download the installer and do a manual install after I have deleted the original version. Here's what I'm currently running: What is the new version and where do I find a copy to download?
  7. I am a premium home subscriber. I am using an up-to-date 64-bit version of Windows 10. A popup window alerted me that a Malwarebytes update to version 3.4 was available. I clicked to download the update and enabled changes to my computer. The installation window opened and the progress bar remained at zero. In Taskmanager, I could see two 32-bit installation processes running, but neither was using any CPU time. I killed the processes, downloaded a new installation package and tried to reinstall, with the same result. Help! mb-check-results.zip
  8. Hi I seem to be having a similar problem to others, I had a prompt earlier saying there was a new version so I tried to install it and I now have a loop where it asks me to reboot to complete installation, only problem is it keeps doing it and never installs. It has also deleted Malwarebytes completely. Please Help
  9. so … essentially, upgrading to mb3 (free) version means we no longer can use mbae and mbarw … do i understand this correctly? ref: forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/191650-malwarebytes-3-frequently-asked-questions/?do=findComment&comment=1077436
  10. Having found these instructions: https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1043 Which are pretty darn good, I've done a backup of our database and etc. Only problem is where I get the latest version at. I did contact cleverbridge support and was emailed all of our purchase information. Awesome... click the link next to reference and it took me to where I could download version 1.7 of the management console. From September 12 2016. I'd really like to upgrade to the latest version of management console as we're on and clients on I'm pretty sure I need to do upgrade packages as well for the clients. Step 3. " Download the latest version of Malwarebytes Endpoint Security from your confirmation e-mail." Is the issue. Help please!
  11. Malwarebytes said there was a new version for my 2nd laptop. So I upgraded from 3.0.6 The upgrade required a restart. On restart I got the message 'Malwarebytes unable to connect the service' and get the same message whenever I try to run Malwarebytes. PC runs Windows 7 Professional, fully up to date. Norton 360 Premier is AV software. Please advise... Meantime I won't be updating my other PCs.
  12. I cannot install the latest version. I was getting continual popups until I turned them off. When I attempt to install, I get to the point where I have to restart my computer. When it restarts, nothing is available to prompt me to continue. There newest version does not install. I have Premium.
  13. I recently upgraded my Malwarebytes installation. Since the upgrade, I am repeated instructed to install the program. I performed a clean uninstall and I would like to restore my purchased version.
  14. I just downloaded the current MBES and installed it on my server. I notice that the versions are different then what I have installed on my clients. My question is will the clients pull down the upgraded software or do I have to push it down or is there another way to do that. I did use the client push option for one, just to see what the version difference is.
  15. After upgrade of MB from 2.2 to 3.0.5 the Realtime Protection Service will not start. It remains at "Starting" until the application is closed down. When re-opened, the service no longer says "Starting" but is now just off. All other services appear to be functioning. Also, scans take only a fraction of a second before they complete, reporting 0 items scanned. I have uninstalled both the old and new versions, rebooted several times, removed by hand any old Malwarebytes program folders and registry entries. Re-installed MB 3 and still have same issue. I am running Windows 7 x64 version 6.1.7601 I have Avast Free Antivirus version 12.3.2280(build 12.3.3154.23) installed. Exclusions for both products are in each others exclusion listings. 16. I have two lifetime subscriptions of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2, one of which has not been used yet. I see that there is now a Malwarebytes 3.0. Am I entitled to an upgrade to this, using my current license? I also cannot even see a download link for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2 on the Malwarebytes website anymore, so this would make installing it on my other P.C. somewhat difficult, even though I have an unused license. (Also makes it difficult re-installing it on this P.C. if I needed to) Any help would be appreciated.
  17. I did read the FAQ and do understand that my active subscription for MBAE (v. entitles me to install a licensed version of Malwarebytes 3.0. Doing so would remove MBAE and the license is valid for the MB 3.0. My current yearly subscription cost will stay the same as in the previous year. What if my active subscription is like this? Couple of things that is not clear in the FAQ... Can I install MB 3.0 to all three PCs, if that's the license I have? And if I can... Will I be able to transfer the license from one PC to another? Just like in the case of replacing existing PC with a new one. TIA...
  18. Hello, I have an old PC (with decent specs though) that is running windows VISTA, which I think must be the worst OS ever. I want to donate this PC to a charity, so would really like to put a better OS on it, but I don't really want to buy one. So, I was wondering - I do have a laptop that came with Windows7 - and I've got the licence key on the back of the laptop - but the laptop was upgraded to Windows 10. Would that Windows7 licence key still work and how could I upgrade the VISTA to Windows 7? Welcome any other good ideas also! Many thanks!
  19. Hi fellas, So about 3 months ago I upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 10, and now some system components reverted back to the english (was hebrew before). Windows 7 was originally english, and on top of that I installed a language pack. After the upgrade process I didn't do anything and Windows 10 was in hebrew, but not all of it (e.g. the entire window of regedit is in english, same for some elements in services.msc, devmgmt.msc ["Display adapters" and others]). Screenshot of what I mean by "some elements", in devmgmt.msc, is attached. I'm guessing this is because some mui (or others) files are missing in C:\Windows\System32\he-IL, but I can't think of a proper way to recreate (if that's even possible). I have no other Windows 10 machines (and no any other machines really lol) to transfer missing files, if any. I'm running sfc /scannow to see if that makes a difference but I doubt it will. Happy to hear some thoughts. Thank you.
  20. Win 10 14295.rs1_release 160318-1628 Just updated to - Contradictory prompt - Fully Protected and protection is disabled. Enable button inactive. Have not re-booted after upgrade. System Tray okay
  21. I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Free) version (Windows 7) Every time I start up my computer, Malwarebytes pops up with a windows that says that it "looks like you are a business" and wants me to upgrade to the premium version. I do not want to but I cannot make the windows stop popping up. It is very annoying. How do I turn off that popup so I am not asked this every time I log into my computer?
  22. The 'Automatically upgrade to new versions' option is not keeping the software up to date. Latest available download of MBAE is version, however installed version of MBAE still shows even though 'Automatically upgrade to new versions' is checked.
  23. Hello community, I would like to tell my Malwarebytes Home Premium to block the Windows 10 Upgrade notification. I have uninstalled it by going to Windows Upgrade then the Install History and then I uninstalled KB3035583 (Which is the file that has the program that puts the upgrade icon in your system tray). I also disabled Windows Upgrade's automatic upgrade feature in the settings. But in case Microsoft gets sneaky I want Malwarebytes to block the GWX.exe executable whenever it raises it's ugly head. Is this possible? Thanks for taking time to read my post, Oldwolf.
  24. We are about 9 months into our first year with Malwarebytes after purchasing Enterprise Edition last June. Support specifically for MBEE has been spotty since day one and I had to piece information from forum posts and email from our rep to get it off the ground. It seems to work "pretty good" but, I still have not reached the "blind trust" I had with the free version. Ok, moving past the whining I'll ask my questions. Has MBEE been abandoned? There is no mention of MBEE anywhere on the home page. There is no forum section for MBEE. And we have never received a single update to the client since installing. The "Client Package Information" version has remained with a timestamp of 12/11/2013 4:22PM. The client engine is almost 1½ years old! When I attempt to update the client I get the following message: "No update found. You have the latest client package template." The Management Console has remained at version Is there a way to manually download the client? Come June what do we do to upgrade? Thanks, Charles
