  1. I've noticed yesterday, Malwarebytes is unable to check to licenses server or updates. It prompts to "check your internet connection". This happens on both of PCs at both my homes. I'm using NextDNS, so I've added malwarebytes.com to the allow list, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Is Malwarebytes having issues with its servers?
  2. From Browser Guard combats privacy abuse, tracking, clickbait, and scammers | Malwarebytes Labs: Where Malwarebytes Browser Guard alone is installed: what's the database update frequency?
  3. Hi - Even after uninstalling the software, I can't get the Malware bites icon out of my menu bar on my macbook (see attachment). I also get frequent software update reminders but I installed the software several weeks ago. I've tried restarting my computer, looking at what programs have permission to start when I login, and also clicking the icon and going to 'settings'. When I click settings, I get a macbook notification "There is no application set to open the URL com.malwarebytes.mbam://settings" Thank you in advance for your help!
  4. I just installed Malwarebytes 3 with the updated package version 1.0.3816 and it completes a scan of 350,000 files or so in under 90 seconds, is this working properly? Thanks in advance to whom contributes.
  5. Been seeing a lot of updates through to our MBAM Endpoint protection tonight. Significant number of clients had multiple updates and web protection issues as a result. Updating seems to fix for short whicl then sites randomly being blocked again. We have disabled web-protection on all policies and everything seems to have stabilised.
  6. I have a Dell OptiPlex 760 64 bit with 8 gig ram. I had to reinstall Windows 10 from a Media Creation Tool disk totally fresh without saving anything - I already saved all the data that I needed. So I rebuilt the system - and reinstalled fresh: Chrome, Firefox, AVAST, Super Anti Spyware and Malwarebytes. Everything was working great. Saturday 1/27/2018 Windows 10 decided to update and looking at the Task Manager showed CPU utilization up near 90% and memory usage over 90% the top consumer of both of these resources was Malwarebytes. I managed to shutdown the system but upon subsequent boot I got a warning popup from Malware that it couldn't access some levels of itself or something to that effect. I then removed Malware bytes and that went through without a problem. Rebooted and the Windows 10 updates went through without a problem. I reinstalled Malwarebytes but turned off real-time monitoring. I'll see what happens on the next Windows update. Any insight or "help" with what might have happened would be greatly appreciated.
  7. After installing the MBAM the agent is showing as having database files from 2015. Over 2 years old. When attempting to update the below error populates: --------------------------- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware --------------------------- An error has occurred. Please report this issue to our support team (include the content of all error message(s) and code(s) in your submission). PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (11001, 0, Host not found) No such host is known. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- The machine is Windows 10 version 16299. Windows Firewall is turned off. The applications was uninstalled. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Cleanup Tool was used https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware-cleanup-tool/ The Windows sockets have been rest. http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=15337&t=4&i=1 MBAM was installed again. *************************************************************** I've checked https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/401685/malwarebytes-update-error/ I've checked
  8. Since a few days ago, whenever I start up my laptop, seconds later I now keep getting an error from the program telling me that "updates are not current" and I have to keep making it get updates manually though when I click on the "Check for updates" button the first time, nothing happens and the same error pops up again. Clicking that same button does make it work after all but I don't want to keep doing it each time, and I believe a little blip with a recent program update might have caused this. Might be wrong, but I hope there is a fix for it, even with MBClean that I used before. Thanks.
  9. Updates were working correctly a couple of weeks ago but for whatever reason have stopped. I click on the "Check for Updates" button but it's keeps telling me "Updates are not current." I've uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck using the MBAM tools. mb-check-results.zip mb-clean-results.txt
  10. Hi all, (apologies for my poor English, i'm french) A few years ago it was possible to automatically update database AND MBAM itself, why this is not allowed today ? It will be more secure and user friendly for Rookies (wich i'm not). I think thats not a good idea that we have a download redirection to CNET for MBAM, why not putting direct download links on your website ? Thanks Breizhspotlight PS : Sorry if my post is not in the right section...
  11. downloaded some cracks: *avid-media-composer-703-650[aRb]Cracked.zip and Avid_Media_Composer_7_0_keygen_by_Inferno.zip one of them @#$%^ my system. The computer is sluggish, the browsers don't run, unless in SafeMode - and Malwarebytes is STUCK AT CHECKING FOR UPDATES stage I know - I'm STUPID for downloading those. It's so not like me - usually I'm extra careful. got cocky and was under pressure from work to finish some video editing at home Addition.txt FRST.txt
  12. Hello, Running into a problem where the program will not respect the changes I make to the update notification settings. I have Updates set to check every 5 days, and "Notify me if time since last update exceeds 24 hours" turned OFF. I've set this multiple times, and every day, without fail, I get a notification that my updates aren't current. No...really??? Version information is as follows: 1.0.160 1.0.2479 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I am wondering now that Microsoft ended support for Vista if I ever take the computer back to factory settings will I be able to download updates from Microsoft? I know they are not making new updates, but will I be able to download old ones like Vista service pack 2? Thankyou. Michelle
  14. I installed anti-ransomeware several weeks ago. I am happy to evaluate it but not sure what I am looking for. So far it does not appear have any impact on my resources. I have not received any updates. Just not sure how I would even know it is working. My PC has the following additional coverage. Webroot Open DNS umbrella client Thanks in advance for your help. Tim
  15. I just uninstalled my corporate 1.80 malwarebytes and installed the new malwarebytes 3.0.6. I am not unable to check for new updates and it says my updates are not current. I click check for updates and it says checking then 1 second later it stops.
  16. I've been struggling with this for a few days and it is frustrating. 3.0 worked fine for some time with a Business Product Key. Something has changed in the product. I am have trouble on multiple machines in different environments. I have deactivated, removed, rebooted clean uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. Disabled my Firewall and removed AV. Then I tried simply deactivating the product and updates work fine. It seems to me like the Business key is what is killing it. I have a consumer key I will try to see if the results are different.
  17. Its impossible that this is not a problem way more wide spread than the responses in this thread are making it out to be. I have well over 3100 clients running Malwarebytes and out of the few hundred I have been testing 3.0 with, every last single one of them has this issue and has had it now for going on a week. I am a Malwarebytes diehard and I know the in's and outs of just about everything from how it talks to the consoles as well as best practices for installations. I have nothing blocking anything going to the Malwarebytes update servers via Windows Firewall and or Hardware/Software firewall. Something silly and small I am sure is goofed up but there is definitely something not right. FYI these installations I speak of are spread across multiple different business's and state's with different hardware, OS's, ISP's and setups but all having the same exclusions to blocking any traffic relating to updates. Attached to this response is the update that broke it and below that is the response or problem, maybe this will help you pinpoint it. Thanks for all the hard work Malwarebytes Team keep it up, love the product lastupdate-culprit.txt error-response-after-update.txt
  18. I am currently on MalwareBytes Program Verison and today MalwareBytes asked me to update to Program Version 3.0, which I tried and did not like. So I reinstalled the old version of the program. Now, every time I click on it, there is a popup that says "A new version of MalwareBytes is ready to be installed." and also there is a yellow banner at the top of the program telling me "Your Program Version is out of date" I checked the settings and found under "Update Settings" > "Check for program updates when checking for database updates." I turned it off but it is still doing it. I want to fix this issue. How can I get it done? Thanks for any help you can provide!
  19. It seems to be working fine on the two machines I have Pro on. If I could ask a question, do I need to do the same exclusions I have on v2? For some reason the only exclusion that transferred over was Tor, and the Windows 10 crap is no longer excluded. Do I exclude the same stuff as v2?
  20. This is a wide spread problem! I now have 100 machines and rising that are having this issue!
  21. Greetings, When I right click on the MB 3.0 Premium tray icon and click "Check for Updates," why does the program need to open up to show whether it is applying an update or if its up to date? In previous versions of MB, the updates applied in the background. Please add an option to display a tray notification rather than opening the program since it interrupts the activity I may be working on at the time. Attached is an animated GIF of the issue. Regards.
  22. I also am having this issue with sys tray icon showing updates out of date falsely. Running win 7 sp1 on alianware R4
  23. W7 ultimate SP1. MB v3.0.6 reports on the taskbar notification area that the database is out of date, however when you open MB the dashboard states that "Awesome! You're protected" and shows that updates are current. Restarting the PC clears the taskbar notification notice sometimes, but it soon returns within the hour. I have uninstalled MB completely, ran CCleaner, rebooted, reinstalled MB but the issue continues intermittently.
  24. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is unable to update - "Unable to access update server" Tried multiple restarts I have used the clean tool to uninstall and reinstall it I have added entries into windows firewall to allow it I can ping data-cdn.mbamupdates.com no problem data-cdn.mbamupdates.com in a browser returns the 403 server access forbidden message which tells me nothing is blocking access to the server other than the server itself. I have attached diagnostics logs please help! Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
